Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop August Edition Back to School!

Hey there! It's Stampers Dozen Blog Hop Day! YAY!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

Augusts' theme is "Back to School"! One of my daughters is a teacher, so I consulted with her in Walmart a few days ago:

Stampin_up_flashback_school_1

The "mason jar mugs" have been at Walmart all summer and are on clearance right now, so I purchased  a small mug because all the big ones were gone!

Inside I put items to help a teacher get through those first days of back-to-school:

  • Tylenol Extra Strength
  • Band-aids
  • Tums
  • Chocolate!

The tag I am especially excited about!

Stampin_up_flashback_school_tag

I started with a Basic Black tag cut with the next-to-largest Banner Framelit, then layered on a next-to-next-to-largest banner cut from Flashback Designer Paper.

I added:

"SCHOOLS COOL!" – Alphabet Rotary Stamp, underscored with a Show & Tell 1 Photopolymer (cut with a new skinny banner framelit coming in the Holiday Catalog!)

"STAY CALM AND BE AWESOME"- Show & Tell 2 Photopolymer, punched with Ticket Duo.

"SHOW & TELL" – Show & Tell 2 Photopolymer, punched with the Banner Punch.

"THIS WEEK" – Project Life Remember This, punched with the Word Window.

The globe – Wanderlust Photopolymer, punched with the 1 inch Circle.

"WOW!" – Honeycomb Hello, also punched with the Banner punch.

The hole for the Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon with the 1/4" Handheld Punch.

Here's the supply list for today's project. Everything can be ordered from my Online Store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

When you click on an image, it will be enlarged in my store, and you can throw it in your shopping cart if you like!

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition Hot Hot Hot!

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition Hot Hot Hot!

Hey there! It's the 15th of the month, which means it's time for:

970616_10152216696390070_1901389811_n

July's theme is "Hot, Hot, Hot!" and if you just arrived from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps you saw her fabulous creations with the Ray of Sunshine stamp set! I love Stella's use of the diagonal "rays" of color for her background, very retro 60's/70's-ish!

My first project today also uses the Ray of Sunshine set:

Stampin_up_ray_of_sunshine_1 - Copy

I used one of the Starburst Framelit Dies to cut the center of the sun, then added 9 banner-punched "rays". I sponged all the Daffodil Delight cardstock with Tangerine Tango ink.

A new Project Life Journaling Pen worked perfect to hand-draw the sunny little face, and I used the White Chalk marker to faux-stitch around the Kraft cardstock base.

I rounded the corners with the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board, and created the white copy-paper envelope with the punch board too!

Stampin_up_ray_of_sunshine_2 - Copy

The greeting and the inside sentimet, both from Ray of Sunshine, were stamped with the new Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the tiny little heart from the Project LIfe Point & Click set was stamped with Melon Mambo ink.

What would Hot, Hot, Hot, be without a riot of yellow and orange blossoms? We made the Ray of Sunshine card and this one with the Flower Patch and Mixed Bunch sets at my Punch & Technique Class this month:

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_flower_patch_1 - Copy

"Your in My Thoughts" from A Dozen Thoughts was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink BEFORE we embossed the Daffodil Delight layer with the Stylish Stripes folder.

The Flower Patch stamps are a breeze to stamp with the Stampin' Pierce Mat under the cardstock, and the Mixed Bunch blossom really added the Tangerine Tango "punch" needed to make this card really bright & happy!

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_flower_patch_3 - Copy

We used the darkest Pumpkin Pie Blendability alcohol marker to color the Rhinestones before adding them to the flower centers.

Stampin_up_flower_patch_mixed_bunch_2 - Copy

Inside we stamped my FAVORITE phrase from Perfect Pennants with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop May Edition: I Do!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop May Edition: I Do!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

Hey there! It's Stampers Dozen Blog Hop time again! yay! This month our theme is "I Do!" and oh my goodness do we ever have some gorgeous projects for you! If you are already on the hop, you've just come from Laura Milligan's blog "I'd Rather "Bee" Stampin'!" I love her creations every month, don't you?

For my project today I actually CASED a project from page 14 of the New Annual Catalog. I can't show you the actual catalog picture until after the new catty goes live on June 2nd, but I can show you my version of their wedding favor:

Stampin_up_label_love_1

This is SO CUTE and SO EASY! I used a combo of New Catalog Sneak Peek and current-but-carrying-over products to make these.

New Catalog Sneak Peek products used:

Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack #133701 $6.95

Blackberry Bliss 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock: #133675 $6.95 (one of the 5 new In-Colors for 2014-16!)

Blackberry Bliss Classic Inkpad #133642 $5.95

Blackberry Bliss 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon: #133668 $8.95 (10 yds)

Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack #133787 $16.95 (flower punch from the pack)

Current Catalog Products(these products will also be in the New Catalog):

Label Love stamp set #130619 wood-mount $24.95 or #130622 clear-mount  $17.95

Artisan Label punch #130920 $15.95

Cellophane Bags 1" x 8" #124134 $2.50 (50 per pkg)

Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon #114319 $5.95

Pearls Basic Jewels #119247 $4.95

Stampin' Dimensionals #104430 $3.95

I found the easiest way to fill the skinny little cello bags was to use a funnel inserted into the top of the bag. As the rice funneled in I squeezed the sides of the bag so the rice would fill evenly:

Blog hop 2

I used Long Grain Brown Rice for one bag  and Black Rice for the other. The Black Rice is actually kind of a purple-y color which matched the Blackberry Bliss cardstock, ink , and ribbon perfectly!

Stampin_up_label_love_3

These little bags can hold lots of fun things: M & M's, jelly beans, licorice sticks, pixie stix; anything that will slide into the 1" x 8" bag will work. One end of the bag has a little adhesive strip cover you remove, then fold down the flap to secure your goodies inside!

I had cut the points of the pennants with my Paper Snips. I cut up from the center of the end about 3/4", then cut into the top of the first cut from each corner. This is the easiest way to get perfectly even points almost every time!

I punched the hole for the ribbon with the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (which is retiring), but there is a NEW hand-held 1/4" Circle Punch coming in the New Catalog that will work even better. We've had this size of a circle hand-held punch before, but this one has an even LONGER reach than before! yay!

While several of today's products are not available to order until June 2nd, you can still shop HERE for current, retiring, Clearance, and Weekly Deals products!

Before I go, I just wanted to share a picture of our Stampers Dozen Blog Hop group. 10 of the 13 of us were on the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip last week, so we scheduled a time to meet, swap, and take a group picture:

Stampers_dozen_blog_hop_cruise_pic

Front row l to r: Lee Conrey, Jodi Reinert, Judy Garza, Patty Chenail, and me!

Back row l to r: Stella MacKay, Laura Milligan, Janet Wakeland, France Martin, and BJ Peters.

The crazy "photobomber" in the back is Pam Morgan, a VP on the Stampin' Up! Corporate Team! Pam is a fun and beautiful person, inside and out!

That's all for now. Next you will want to hop over to Judy Garza's blog, Stampingwithjudyg to see what she has created for us!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

My project today follows the ConGraduation, Congratualations theme with the Pure Gumption stamp set from page 52 of the Annual Catalog:

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_1 - Copy

I created the kite by punching one straight pennant from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and one triangle from the triangle punch from Silver Glimmer Paper. I added narrow strips of Basic Black cardstock for the struts of the kite, White Baker's Twine for the kite string, and tiny Silver Glimmer hearts punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_2 - Copy

I used my custom-made cloud embossing plate for the clouds. You can see how to make your own cloud plate HERE. I sponged my clouds with Soft Sky ink.

The greeting is from Pure Gumption, stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink and cut out with a Word Bubbles Framelit.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_3 - Copy

Inside is stamped very straighforward with more stamps from the same set. Pure Gumption is a one-stop stamp set for graduation/congratulations!
