Stampin’ Up! New Catalog Favorites!

Hey there! Welcome to the Stampers Dozen May Blog Hop! Our May theme is "New Catalog Favorites", so you'll be getting glimpses of each of our favorite products from the New Annual Catalog!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

So far my favorite in the New Annual Catalog is the Expressions In In Suite found on pages 96-97. It's even featured on the front of the catalog!

I used one of the coordinating colors found in the Expressions In Ink Specialty Designer Paper, Pale Papaya, to create my card:

Stampin_up_artistically_inked_pale_papaya_carolpaynestamps1

I used two layering circles dies to create the window to see the greeting inside the card.

Stampin_up_artistically_inked_pale_papaya_carolpaynestamps2

I accented with Genial Gems.

Stampin_up_artistically_inked_pale_papaya_carolpaynestamps3

Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop, May Edition, New Catalog Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop, May Edition, New Catalog Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Hope you've had a lovely Mother's Day! Whether you are a mother or not, we all have, or have had, one to celebrate. I've had a wonderful day with all six of my children, three sons-in-law, and nine grandchildren. We also celebrated with my Mother-in-Law. The guys did the grilling, so the day was relaxing. After lunch we played "Minute to Win It"-type games. There's a video somewhere of me winning a round of "eat a vanilla wafer off your forehead without using your hands", and Mark & I won a round of throwing and catching miniature marshmallows in a paper cup! Fun Times! I think all of the mother's had a good day!

Now, it's time for another Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! Our theme this month is the New Catalog: A Sneak Peek!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

For my project I used new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, Happy Birthday Thinlets die, and Colorful Seasons stamps.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_fresh_florals_carolpaynestamps1

I created a monochromatic card with the new In Color Tranquil Tide and Whisper White.

I created a banner by snipping a 3" x 4 3/4" strip of Tranquil Tide with my Paper Snips and then embossing with the brand spankin' new Oh My Stars  Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It created a great background to mount the wonderful "Happy Birthday", cut with the new Happy Birthday Thinlets Die. Don't you just LOVE this die? I can tell I will be using it again and again!

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_fresh_florals_carolpaynestamps2

Inside I stamped the fabulous "just breathe" phrase from Colorful Seasons and the fun beach chair, all with Tranquil Tide.

Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop February Color Challenge

I used the Birthday Blast Bundle from page 11 of the Occasions Catalog.  My  "Chicks & Chocolate" stampers will make this card this weekend!

Stampin_up_birthday_blast_carolpaynestamps1

This was a fun and easy card to make!

Stampin_up_birthday_blast_carolpaynestamps3

I inked the "celebrate you" stamp first with Versamark, then with Night of Navy. After stamping I sprinkled with clear powder and heated with my Heat Tool.

Stampin_up_birthday_blast_carolpaynestamps4

I made the whole card exclusively with Birthday Blast!

Stampin_up_birthday_blast_carolpaynestamps5

Stampingrox  Project Tips!

1. I cut a piece of scrap paper the same size as the Mint Macaron layer to use as my guide to stamp the star blast image.

Stampin_up_birthday_blast_carolpaynestamps6

2. I only needed a small strip of Watermelon Wonder card stock to attach to the back of the Mint Macaron layer, so I laid my die about a 1/2" from the cardstock edge:

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop June Edition, Patriotic!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop June Edition, Patriotic!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! Our theme for June is Patriotic, and we have some absolutely fabulous projects to share with you this month!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Stella MacKay is still on an extended vacation in Europe after the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to the Mediterranean, so if you are already on the hop you've probably come from Laura Milligan's blog, I'd Rather "Bee" Stampin'! If at any time you get off course or one of our links doesn't work, just refer to the blog hop list at the bottom of this post and you can keep going!

For my Patriotic Project I used the Stars Framelits, Swirly Scribbles Thinlets,  Labeler Alphabet, and the Confetti Stars Border Punch. I used the new Labeler Alphabet to stamp the letters for "God Bless America". We have the National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, but when I think of patriotism, I think of asking God to bless and lead our country.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I started with a star card base cut with Dapper Denim card stock and the largest Star Framelit. I cut a couple of swirling scribbles from Real Red card stock using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlet which I adhered to a Whisper White star cut with the next-smaller size Star Framelit with my Fine Tip Glue Pen. I trimmed the edges of the red swirls flush with the star with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I punched a bunch of Dapper Denim stars with the Confetti Stars Border Punch, then randomly added with Fine Tip Glue and a "tacky toothpick".

I cut a Silver Glimmer Paper star with the smallest Star Framelit, adding it to the front with a Stampin' Dimensional.

After stamping the letters for "God Bless America" with Dapper Denim ink I cut them all out with Paper Snips and added them with Glue Dots.

Are you wondering about my "tacky toothpick"? A "tacky toothpick" is a regular wooden toothpick that I put a small drop of Tombow Multipurpose Glue on one end, then allow to air-dry.

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_1

The dry glue stays "tacky", allowing you pick up tiny pieces of paper, add a bit of glue to the back, and place precisely on your project!

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_2
