Stampin’ Up! A Round Array Meets This Day!

Stampin’ Up! A Round Array Meets This Day!

Hey there! I decided to play with the layout I used for yesterday's card again, but had to throw several attempts in the trash (yes, I do make icky cards sometimes!) I kept trying to use a daisy theme with the layout and kept coming up with nothing I was happy with. Ever have one of those days?

I think the problem was I was trying so hard I wasn't paying attention to a solution that was right under my nose!

The solution was the This Day Project Life Mini Card Collection, a freebie with a $50 order from the Sale-a-bration brochure. I had chosen this collection with one of my orders, then promptly ignored how CUTE this pack of cards is!

I opened the pack, and In just a few minutes my card was born!

Stampin_up_a_round_array_1 - Copy

By cutting down the cards in the collection and using several of the coordinating patterns, this card finally went together in a snap!

Stampin_up_a_round_array_2 - Copy

I added a bloom created with the Bouquet Bigz L Die, and a 7/8" Scalloped Circle-punched greeting from A Round Array. After I glue-dotted the Coastal Cabana and Island Indigo blooms together, I scored down the center of each petal with the stylus from the Simply Scored Scoring Board and gently pinched/folded the edges of the petals. Surprisingly, Stampin' Up! doesn't offer a 5/8" Circle Punch, which is the size I needed to punch out the "you make me smile" from A Round Array, so I hand-cut it with Paper Snips.

Inside I used a sentiment from Feel Goods with Island Indigo ink, accented with a stamp from the Mixed Bunch set and Crushed Curry ink. The 1/2" wide strip on the left side of the Whisper White panel is also from the This Day Project Life Mini Card Collection.

That's all for now. This card was SUPER EASY once I stopped trying so hard!

Stampin’Up! Mixed Bunch with Blendabilities!

Stampin’Up! Mixed Bunch with Blendabilities!

Hey there! How's your week going? It's Wednesday, isn't it? I have a party tonight in Carbondale. Here's a card we will be making using Mixed Bunch, A Dozen Thoughts, Million & One, and Blendabilites markers:

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_1 - Copy

I embossed two Mixed Bunch blooms with white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock, colored one with a Pumpkin Pie Blendability, colored the other with a Cherry Cobbler Blendability, punched both with the Blossom punch, then layered them with a Glue Dot in the center.

I made a paper clay button with my Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Paper Clay & Molds. I colored the button with a Daffodil Delight Blendability marker, then attached to the flower center with Tombow glue.

IMG_6298 - Copy

Inside I stamped the Million & One sentiment with Memento ink and added a few blendability-colored flowers to coordinate with the card front:

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_3 - Copy

That's it, pretty simple card. Paper clay buttons need about 24 hours to dry before using, but just a little forethought is all it takes to get a little pile ready for class!

Here's your shopping list for today:

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition Hot Hot Hot!

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition Hot Hot Hot!

Hey there! It's the 15th of the month, which means it's time for:

970616_10152216696390070_1901389811_n

July's theme is "Hot, Hot, Hot!" and if you just arrived from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps you saw her fabulous creations with the Ray of Sunshine stamp set! I love Stella's use of the diagonal "rays" of color for her background, very retro 60's/70's-ish!

My first project today also uses the Ray of Sunshine set:

Stampin_up_ray_of_sunshine_1 - Copy

I used one of the Starburst Framelit Dies to cut the center of the sun, then added 9 banner-punched "rays". I sponged all the Daffodil Delight cardstock with Tangerine Tango ink.

A new Project Life Journaling Pen worked perfect to hand-draw the sunny little face, and I used the White Chalk marker to faux-stitch around the Kraft cardstock base.

I rounded the corners with the corner rounder on the Envelope Punch Board, and created the white copy-paper envelope with the punch board too!

Stampin_up_ray_of_sunshine_2 - Copy

The greeting and the inside sentimet, both from Ray of Sunshine, were stamped with the new Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the tiny little heart from the Project LIfe Point & Click set was stamped with Melon Mambo ink.

What would Hot, Hot, Hot, be without a riot of yellow and orange blossoms? We made the Ray of Sunshine card and this one with the Flower Patch and Mixed Bunch sets at my Punch & Technique Class this month:

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_flower_patch_1 - Copy

"Your in My Thoughts" from A Dozen Thoughts was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink BEFORE we embossed the Daffodil Delight layer with the Stylish Stripes folder.

The Flower Patch stamps are a breeze to stamp with the Stampin' Pierce Mat under the cardstock, and the Mixed Bunch blossom really added the Tangerine Tango "punch" needed to make this card really bright & happy!

Stampin_up_mixed_bunch_flower_patch_3 - Copy

We used the darkest Pumpkin Pie Blendability alcohol marker to color the Rhinestones before adding them to the flower centers.

Stampin_up_flower_patch_mixed_bunch_2 - Copy

Inside we stamped my FAVORITE phrase from Perfect Pennants with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's a beautiful Sunday morning! I get to go to church today! yay! I will be missing church for the next two Sundays because I will be on (and coming home from) the Stampin' Up! cruise, so I'm especially glad for today!

I hope to be able to schedule posts for while I'm gone, so keep checking back! We leave on Friday!

Today I have  three fun swaps to share! The first one is perfect for Mother's Day, which will be coming up in just TWO Sundays, can you belive it?

Mary waring 1

Mary Waring created her card with Gingham Garden Designer Paper for the flower pot base, Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape to seal the sides of the pot, and Delicate Details Lace tape for the flower pot rim embellishment. (ALL three of these products are on the Retiring Accessories List but ARE still available) You can access the lists by clicking on the links:

Mary waring 2

The pull-up portion has Flower Shop and Petite Petals flowers, both punched with the coordinating punches, and pearls for the centers. I love this type of card! I haven't made one in awhile!

Deb McCahan used a tutuorial she found on Splitcoaststampers to help her create this unusual pop-out card with Happy Watercolor, Secret Garden(retiring and now only available in Clear Mount), and Mixed Bunch:

Deb McCahan1

Opening . . . then open just a liiiiitle more . .

Deb McCahan 2

Pop! Deb used the "pedestal pop up" tutorial in case you want to go look for it!

Deb McCahan 3

Finally for today, an adorable punched puppy card by Nancy Hall!

Nancy hall 1

Nancy used the Heart Framelit Dies for the puppy's face and ears, then used the Full Heart Punch (retiring), Small Heart Punch (retiring), and circle punches for his face and tongue.

Nancy hall 2

Inside she stamped the numbers image from Bring on the Cake, (also retiring and already SOLD OUT), highlighting the age number with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker!

That's all for now. I need to get my Sunday dinner in the oven before I'm off to church! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Slider Card!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Slider Card!

Good Monday mornin' to you! We had a BLAST yesterday at Jessica's, celebrating our August Birthdays! Here's some glimpses of our pool time (we weren't even all in yet!):

Pool

Liam loves the water! He stayed in the whole time, almost 2 hours, and never complained at all!

Liam

Jaxon not so much. As soon as PaPa came out, he was ready to spend the rest of the afternoon on his lap!

Jaxon

Oakley got to dabble his toes a bit for his first outing at the pool:

Oakley

Getting ready to take some underwater pics:

Underwater

It truly was a lovely afternoon. I got a little bit of sun, which is hard for me because I have to be very careful with sunscreen (my face is allergic to all kinds), but no burn, so that's good!

It was an afternoon of lunch, gifts for all the August birthday peeps, pool, then supper and games! Fun!

Today's card is a slider I received in a swap in June. There are tutorials out there for this one, but I haven't personally made one yet. Hmmm. . . guess I need to figure this one out!

This one combined the Flower Shop  and Mixed Bunch stamps  with the Pansy and Blossom punches.

Slider 1 posted

The greeting is from the Express Yourself Hostess set.

Slider 2 posted

When the slider is opened it reveals a phrase from the Label Love!

That's all for now! It's a Liam day, so I'm outta here!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
