Hey there! It's Stampers Dozen Blog Hop day! Welcome to the April installment of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop, ConGraduation, Congratualtions!

You may have just come from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps.com. If you did, you saw Stella's awesome creation! If not, you can start here and follow the blog around to all 12 blogs this month, ending with Stella and then back to me! Just follow the link at the end of this post and you will be on your way!

My project today follows the ConGraduation, Congratualations theme with the Pure Gumption stamp set from page 52 of the Annual Catalog:

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_1 - Copy

I created the kite by punching one straight pennant from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and one triangle from the triangle punch from Silver Glimmer Paper. I added narrow strips of Basic Black cardstock for the struts of the kite, White Baker's Twine for the kite string, and tiny Silver Glimmer hearts punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_2 - Copy

I used my custom-made cloud embossing plate for the clouds. You can see how to make your own cloud plate HERE. I sponged my clouds with Soft Sky ink.

The greeting is from Pure Gumption, stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink and cut out with a Word Bubbles Framelit.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_3 - Copy

Inside is stamped very straighforward with more stamps from the same set. Pure Gumption is a one-stop stamp set for graduation/congratulations!

That's all for now. You can continue on to the Judy Garza's blog on the hop by clicking on the "next' icon below:

Stampin’ Up! Petite Pennants Builder Candy Corn!

Stampin’ Up! Petite Pennants Builder Candy Corn!

Hey there! I've got something super cute to show you today! My hostess in Golconda, IL today wanted a project using the 1" x 8" Cellophane Bags, and she likes punch art, so we are making these:

Candy corn pennants 1
Aren't these little candy corn guys cute?!? I stamped the snowman face from Snow Day on one of the corns and I'm in LOVE!!!!

The other corn I stamped with "it's all about the candy" from Halloween Hello.

The candy corns themselves are 3/4" strips of Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight from the Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper package and a 3/4" strip of Very Vanilla polka-dot from the Neutrals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack adhered to a scrap of Very Vanilla, then punched with the Petitie Pennants Builder Punch.

The background of the tag is from the Truly Grateful, cut with the largest Chalk Talk Framelit, then matted with a piece of Early Espresso. I cut the corners of the E.E. layer with my Paper Snips to coordinate with the corners of the Chalk Talk tag.

After filling the 1" x 8" Cellophane Bag with M & M's, (I used a clean drinking straw to poke them down into the bag and get them to lay correctly) I closed the bag with the adhesive strip on the bag and then stapled it to the back of the tag. I covered the staple on the front with a bow tied from 1/8" Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon.

Here's the completed project:

Candy corn pennants 2
This was so easy and so FUN!

These would make great Halloween treats, wouldn't they? To order your cellophane bags, Petite Pennants Builder Punch, and Chalk Talk Framelits, go to my Online Store! You can order just about anything else used on this project there too, except for the M & M's and the stapler!

That's all for today! Thanks so much for stopping in to see what I've been up to! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Good Morning! Happy Labor Day! Hope you are going to a picnic, ballgame, or some kind of fun, yummy gathering today! My church has held a Labor Day Picnic since before my husband was born, so that's where my bunch is headed today!

I've been playing with my Washi Tape again!

Washi tree 1

All week I will be featuring projects using Stampin' Up! Designer Washi Tape! We have four different designs, two in the Annual Catalog and two in the Holiday, so I'm excited to use them all for you this week!

I used Season of Style Designer Washi Tape with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, and Whisper White cardstock. After laying down the strips of washi tape on a Whisper White scrap I cut it with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L die to create my tree. I used the Modern Label to punch the tree trunk. I embossed the Old Olive layer with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder, then added Basic Jewel Rhinestones to the centers of the embossed snowflakes. I added several rhinestones, scatterning them all over the tree for a good dose of bling!

This was my first time using one of the Expressions Thinlets Dies, and I am impressed! I had done some research of how to get the best results with these dies, so tried the tip to put a layer of wax paper against the die before adding the cardstock. There are several tiny holes in the die, so after cutting with the Big Shot I was able to pop out the word quite easily! I left the wax paper in the die for future use.

My next challenge was how to attach this eensy-weensy, skinny little word to my project, so I tried applying  Tombow Multipurpose Glue to the back side of "Merry" with a toothpick:

Washi tree 6

As you can see I didn't glue the whole word, just the tops and bottoms of the letters and at the areas where the letters intersected. This was just enough adhesive to make the word attach without being goopy!

Washi tree 3

Inside the card I stamped the "christmas" word from Seasonal Sayings, then punched the left-over washi layer with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Merry Minis Punch Pack for the little trees.

Washi tree 5

I needed a piece of cardstock for the Pennant Builder Punch tree, so used a Baked Brown Sugar-punched Merry Minis tree! With just the trunk showing below the edge of the tree, it worked perfectly!

Washi tree 4

This will be one of the cards we make at my monthly Christmas Card Class this next Friday! Stamping seats are still available, so RSVP to me today!

All supplies to make this card can be found in my Online Store:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Hop on over there to order your Season of Style Washi Tape! A pack goes a long way, but you might want to order at least a couple because when the Holiday Catalog is over on January 2nd, it will be gone forever. You will probably want to pick up the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder or the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die and Petite Pennants Builder Punch too if you don't have them!

Remember, every $25 you order gets you "Bluesox Rewards" to earn tokens toward a free Stampin' Product!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Punched Birdies Celebrate!

Stampin’ Up! Punched Birdies Celebrate!

I found this adorable birdie punched card idea somewhere, but once again, I can't remember who! I did change it up a bit, using "Summer Smooches" Designer Paper for the little birdie hats and "celebrate" from the Holiday Catalog stamp set "Seasonal Sayings". One thing I love about that set is that you can purchase any ONE single stamp out of it right now, and tomorrow, Monday, October 29, it will be 15% off!

Birdies 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

On the inside, I used another stamp, "Happy Birthday", from "Perfecty Penned", another set that you can purchase the stamps as a group or separately! Once again, these stamps, as all of our stamps, are on sale tomorrow! I can hardly wait!

Birdies 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The little tiny birdies following along in a line are from "Itty Bitty Bits", and yup, you guessed it, they are on sale tomorrow too!

The birdies are punched with the 1 3/4" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, and 1" Circle punches. The wings are from the Bird Builder punch, and their beaks and party hats are both from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

Here's a quick idea for punching the curved part of the hats:

Birdies 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Start with one of the straight-sided punched pennants. Inset the bottom of the pennant into the 1' Circle Punch from INSIDE the circle as shown below. When you have the pennant inserted as deeply as you want, punch the circle and it will shape the bottom of the hat. I used the same pennant and the same punch for all three sizes of hat. I just changed the depth of my punching to create hats of varying sizes!

Birdies 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

That's all for now! Today we are celebrating two of my daughter's birthdays with a family dinner. My oldest, Jessica, had her birthday in September, and Alisa's was October 18th. Today is the first chance we have had for the whole family to get together! I'm looking forward to some great family memories around our table this afternoon!

Don't forget the 15% off sale tomorrow! I know you probably find it hard to believe, but there ARE some Stampin' Up! stamps I do not own! That little anomaly will probably be rectified tomorrow!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! Day!

Stampin’Up! Punch Class Graduation Owl!

Stampin’Up! Punch Class Graduation Owl!

I've been working on the projects for Punch/Technique Class this month and found inspiration for an adorable graduation card somewhere on the web, but right now I can't remember who. If you know who came up with this cutie patootie, let me know so I can give them credit! Lookie:

Grad cap card 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

An okay card from this side, kind of plain, but a pretty good representation of a graduation cap, (the "happy graduation" is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes") but the real fun starts when you turn it over:

Grad cap card 2

Then open the box-like folds:

Grad cap card 3

©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

TAA-DAAA!!!!!

Purty cute, dontcha think???? His nose is the heart that is part of the Owl Builder Punch, his wings are from the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch cut down with the Paper Snips, and his cap is a rectangle that starts out 1" x 1 1/2",  is scored at 1/2" and 3/4" on two sides with the Simply Scored, then hand-trimmed with the Paper Snips. The cap base is from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch then hand-trimmed with the Paper Snips. A tassel of White Baker's Twine and the 1/2" Circle Punch finish the cap off perfectly!

That's it for today! I have to finish Kimberly's baby shower thank-you's before her next shower this afternoon!  I'm stamping and assembling them, SHE is actually writing the thank-you notes! Oh, and I need show you the decorations from her shower this past Sunday, don't I?

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
