Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Sale-a-bration!

Hey there! As I am typing this a big "winter storm" is supposed to be on its' way: sleet, snow, freezing rain, and ice. It hasn't started yet, but everyone has "battened down the hatches" in readiness!

I received a new batch of monthly swaps this week, so I have a treat for all of us today, swaps using freebies from the Sale-a-bration brochure! Let's get started!

First, a scalloped tag topper-closure card from Barb Dykhouse. Barb used Sweet Sorbet Sale-a-bration paper, Petal Parade Sale-a-bration stamps, the Blossom Punch, and Gold Baker's Twine!

Kelly Acheson used the See Ya Later Sale-a-bration stamp set with the Arrows Textured Impressions Folder, Banners Framelits, Owl Builder Punch heart, and the Petite Pennants Builder Punch to create a miniature version of the alligator I made for Cohen's birthday card! Just like I did, Kelly used the Sale-a-bration Decorative Dots Folder to emboss the alligator snout!
Jackie Ordway used Sweet Sorbet SAB designer paper and the Petal Parade stamp set for her creation!

Dawm Klein united Sweet Sorbet paper, Decorative Dots folder, Floral Frames Framelit Dies, Starburst Sayings stamps, Gorgeous Grunge stamps, 1" Circle Punch, Pansy Punch, and the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack for her stunning creation!

Last but definitely not least, Ruth Bingle used the Petal Parade SAB stamp set with the Triple Time stamping technique to create this easy-but-impressive card! The greeting is from Sassy Salutations and the colors are Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, & Whisper White.

I've been waiting to show you this card for several days. My grandson, Cohen, turned 6 on February 7th. This is the card I made to go with his presents, but I haven't been able to give it to him because we have not had his family party yet! I know he doesn't read my blog, and although we hope to have his party in a few WEEKS, I'm going to share it with you now just because I can't wait any longer!

I have been saying the phrase, "See ya later, alligator" to Cohen since he was just a little guy, and now he says, "After while, crocodile" back to me, so I just had to make him this card with the phrase from the free SAB set, See Ya Later!

This is defintely a one-of-a-kind card, but Cohen is worth it!

Stampin’Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop: Go for the Gold!

Today's the day! I've wanted to participate in a blog hop for a long time, but never had the chance until now! yay! The Stampers Dozen (13 actually!) Blog Hop will take place on the 15th of every month. Be sure to come back on the 15th and take the hop!

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek See Ya Later!

Hey there! I just got home really late from a fun shopping trip with Alisa and Oakley! This is the first time in a long time I actually had a chance to shop the January Clearance sales. Oh boy! Things were so cheap it seemed like they were practically paying ME to take their stuff home!

Seriously, I am stocked for future baby shower gifts for a long time, as well as picked up some adorable things for the grandboys as they grow! I got a really cute coat for me at Macy's, and then went a little crazy at JoAnn's with flannel! When I get my projects done I will be sure to show you all, I promise! I'm making the flannel a year-long project, in between stamping, of course!

Sale-a-bration will be here before we know it, just 12 more days to be exact! So since I spent my day shopping instead of stamping, I decided to dip into my stash of swaps to share a few with you that were created with the Sale-a-bration stamp set, See Ya Later:

Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, and Real Red makes a pleasing color combo, don't you think? Deco Label Framelits were used to cut out the layers and Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain is the perfect finishing touch! This card was created by Denise Sullivan.

Kathy Johnson paired the Cupcake Builder Punch with the See Ya Later birthday greeting. The additon of the Early Espresso gives a yummy look to this card!

Last but definitely not least, Carla Starry used the Sale-a-bration See Ya Later, Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper, and the Decorative Dots folder, combining with Basic Black cardstock for some pop! The birthday phrase is cut out with one of the Apothecary Accent Dies.

Stampin’ Up! See Ya Later Post-It Notes Directions!

Hey there! I'm posting from the lobby of the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston, TX! We arrived here a little after 6:30 p.m. after a thankfully uneventful plane ride. After taking a taxi (we were able to share the ride with our friends Elizabeth & Kim) Linda and I enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner at a place called "Guadalajara" with them too! While we were waiting in the lobby of the hotel for Elizabeth & Kim, Pam Morgan from Stampin' Up! found us and gave us her recommendation to try out Guadalajara. She didn't steer us wrong!

On the way to the restaurant, we walked by this place and I just had take a picture of it for my son:

It was as I suspected, a coffe shop!

My Ben loves coffee, so here's to Ben!

Now on to the main reason for this post, my class hand-out for the See Ya Later Post-it Note holder we made at class last week!

Stampin’ Up! See Ya Later Post-It Notes!

Hey there! We are just about done with Christmas gatherings. Mark's siblings are all leaving today, but tonight is Jaxon's 2nd birthday party! Having your birthday the day after Christmas is hard. You're still in the middle of Christmas with one side of the family or the other on that day. Jessica decided to wait until things had calmed down a bit to have his family get to-gether, I purchased his birthday gifts while we were shopping for Christmas, so I am ready!

Today I have another project to share with you that we will be making at the Stampin' in the New Year Birthday Stamp-a-Stack, a Post-It Note Holder with Fresh Prints Designer Paper and a Sale-a-bration stamp set, See Ya Later:

Guess I had Post-It Notes on the brain when I was creating for this class! I have Post-its on this project and the calendar too! Oh well, they make great gifts and are always handy!

This is a re-do of a project I posted in January of 2012 HERE. The designer paper, brads and the Big Shot Die I used for it are no longer available, but I used the largest Squares Collection Framelit for the base instead, and used the Owl Builder Punch and the Small Heart Punch to add just the right embellishment for this project!

That's all for now. I have a bit more prep to finish before the class starts Wednesday afternoon. I still have a few more seats open, be sure to RSVP to me today if you are coming! For those of you who can't attend or live too far away, I will be posting the directions for these projects after the classes are over while I am gone to Houston, TX, for Leadership.
