Hey there! It's Stampers Dozen Blog Hop day! Welcome to the April installment of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop, ConGraduation, Congratualtions!

You may have just come from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps.com. If you did, you saw Stella's awesome creation! If not, you can start here and follow the blog around to all 12 blogs this month, ending with Stella and then back to me! Just follow the link at the end of this post and you will be on your way!

My project today follows the ConGraduation, Congratualations theme with the Pure Gumption stamp set from page 52 of the Annual Catalog:

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_1 - Copy

I created the kite by punching one straight pennant from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and one triangle from the triangle punch from Silver Glimmer Paper. I added narrow strips of Basic Black cardstock for the struts of the kite, White Baker's Twine for the kite string, and tiny Silver Glimmer hearts punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

I used my custom-made cloud embossing plate for the clouds. You can see how to make your own cloud plate HERE. I sponged my clouds with Soft Sky ink.

The greeting is from Pure Gumption, stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink and cut out with a Word Bubbles Framelit.

Inside is stamped very straighforward with more stamps from the same set. Pure Gumption is a one-stop stamp set for graduation/congratulations!

That's all for now. You can continue on to the Judy Garza's blog on the hop by clicking on the "next' icon below:

Stampin’Up! Punch Class Graduation Owl!

Stampin’Up! Punch Class Graduation Owl!

I've been working on the projects for Punch/Technique Class this month and found inspiration for an adorable graduation card somewhere on the web, but right now I can't remember who. If you know who came up with this cutie patootie, let me know so I can give them credit! Lookie:

An okay card from this side, kind of plain, but a pretty good representation of a graduation cap, (the "happy graduation" is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes") but the real fun starts when you turn it over:

Then open the box-like folds:

TAA-DAAA!!!!!

Purty cute, dontcha think???? His nose is the heart that is part of the Owl Builder Punch, his wings are from the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch cut down with the Paper Snips, and his cap is a rectangle that starts out 1" x 1 1/2",  is scored at 1/2" and 3/4" on two sides with the Simply Scored, then hand-trimmed with the Paper Snips. The cap base is from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch then hand-trimmed with the Paper Snips. A tassel of White Baker's Twine and the 1/2" Circle Punch finish the cap off perfectly!

That's it for today! I have to finish Kimberly's baby shower thank-you's before her next shower this afternoon!  I'm stamping and assembling them, SHE is actually writing the thank-you notes! Oh, and I need show you the decorations from her shower this past Sunday, don't I?

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Another Petal Cone Die Project!

Another Petal Cone Die Project!

This project is one of my favorites, not mailable at all, but a fun graduation project! The Petal Cone Die was turned upside down, a bottom (actually a top) added, and then a card on top as the finishing touch! The "tassel", (which is not CASED but is my own brainstorm!)is actually 5/8" Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon cut into three strips and braided. I tied off the end with two of the strips, then frayed all the ends to get the tassel-y look! You could tuck some money or a gift card in the base, or just attach it to your gift!

For the inside I used a "Teeny Tiny Wishes" phrase, (pg 157 in the Big Catalog) LOVE that set, it comes in SO handy for just about every occasion! I also love how the fonts are all diferent for the words, so much fun! "You're one of the GOOD ones!" is from "Smarty Pants" on page 152!

Well, I've got to get going today, lots to do to get ready for the "Create a Cupcake" class this Friday!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" day!

My Baby the Grad!

My Baby the Grad!

Ben the grad

Happy Monday to you all! We just had a great weekend, our baby boy, Ben, graduated from Mt Vernon Township High School Magna Cum Laude this past Saturday Night! Mark & I can hardly believe we have no more high schoolers! That part of our life is over. We have been so blessed, all our kids are healthy, smart, love God, and are all-around good kids! In our growing-family years, alot of people thought we were crazy having a bunch of kids (for those of you that don't know, we have SIX kids-3 girls and 3 boys!) but I just KNEW we were missing someone at the supper table until Ben came along! I am so thankful for him and all my kids!

The boy in the extreme right edge of this picture is his cousin, Dillon, who graduated, Summa Cum Laude. Ben will be starting Rend Lake College in a few weeks, taking a sociology class. He earned a 2 year tuition waiver for his ACT score of 29!

Now that you know what a proud mom I am, here's a couple of grad cards I mass-produced this week. Both are CASES of cards I received as cruise swaps. The first one is an exact CASE, which unfortunately I don't have the name of the creator, but the second one I changed the colors a bit so it would be a general grad card for anyone at any school:

Grad 1 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

And the inside:

Grad 2 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

See the cool slot for a giftcard or money? It was punched with the Word Window punch! Easy peasy!

Here's the second grad card:

Happy grad 1 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

And the inside:

Happy grad 2 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

Both cards use graduation stamps from the Summer Mini catalog: "Go, Graduate" and the single wood-mount stamp, "Happy Grad"! I used Brushed Silver cardstock and the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the second card.

Right now I am working on a modified version of the giftcard holder card using "Tropical Party". I will be back tomorrow with the card & details!

Until tomorrow, have a STAMPENDOUSLY GREAT day!
