Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbirds Candy Nests!
Hey there! Today's project is CASED from a project I saw created by Laura Mellinger. I changed a few things, such as punching the birdies from the new 2022-24 In Color 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper, and using toothpicks for the sign posts, but I loved her design so much I couldn't vary from it much!
I used the Sweet Songbird Bundle of stamps and punch to create these:
This little birdie was punched from an ombre-hued Sweet Sorbet sheet of Glimmer Paper.
The "nest" is constructed from a 3" x 3" square of Soft Suede, scored at one inch on all four sides, then cut in one inch along score lines on parallel sides of the square. The flaps are then folded up and glued to form a one-inch square box. The two nests are stamped on Soft Suede card stock with Soft Suede ink, then cut with Paper Snips. After cutting, the nests are then glued to opposite sides of the box.
I stamped the birdie eyes directly on the glimmer paper with Tuxedo Black ink. The beak is punched with the Songbird Builder punch from Basic Black card stock and added with a tiny drop of liquid glue. The wing is also punched with the Songbird Builder and glued.
I created the sign by stamping the woodgrain image from the Sweet Songbirds set with stamped-off-once Soft Suede ink, then stamping the sentiment with black ink. I cut it with Paper Snips, then used a couple of glue dots to adhere to one end of a toothpick. I also stamped and cut out the musical notes before adding with a dot of glue.
I rolled the toothpick on the glue dots to wrap them around the wood before adhering to the sign and to the inside of the nest.
I also made an Orchid Oasis birdie, punched from Orchid Oasis Glimmer paper,
and a Tahitian Tide one!
