Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers Chalk Talk!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers Chalk Talk!

Good Monday morning! I have a bright and cheery card for you today using the daisy flower from the Best of Flowers 25th Anniversary set, one of the stamps from Chalk Talk, and a greeting from A Dozen Thoughts!

Wish Big 1

Cardstock colors are Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Naturals White, and Whisper White. Ink colors are Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Jet Black Stazon. The centers of the daisies are popped with color using a sponge dauber and Daffodil Delight ink! The "wish big" greeting was cut out with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits, then layered on a Daffodil Delight strip that was cut 1/8" wider then the greeting strip then the ends were banner-cut with Paper Snips.

Wish big 2

The inside greeting is the the June 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings. It was masked with a post-it note punched with the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, then the daisy was stamped all round the edges of the mask with Daffodil Delight ink.

The bottom of the card was stamped with the miniature upsy-daisy stamp from Best of Flowers.

I'm really diggin' this card! So much so that I believe it may have to be one of my convention swaps!

What do you think? Would you like to receive this card in a swap?

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

The secret to the perfect Negative Masking on this card?

The Two-way Glue Pen!

Stamped
Cut out the butterfly image from the Beautiful Wings Die with copy paper to create the butterfly-shaped mask. Swipe the Two-way glue pen around the outside edges of the butterfly. Allow the glue to air-dry for a few minutes. When air-dried, Two-way glue becomes tacky like a Post-It Note. Lay the mask tacky-side down on your card front. Sponge & stamp inside the mask as desired. For this card I sponged Lucky Limeade and then Baja Breeze. I sponged with a soft, swirling motion to get a smooth, even look.

Before removing the mask, I stamped the "upsy-daisy" image from Best of Flowers with Jet Black StazOn.

The Two-way Glue tackiness should not damage your stamped image and should be easy to remove.

There you are! What do you think? Likey? I definitely likey!

I have two more cards from this class I will share with you tomorrow, but for now I must finish my prep for my "Yes, Mam! Stampers" Downline meeting tonight!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Fiji Swaps! Best of Butterflies & Pure Gumption!

Stampin’ Up! Fiji Swaps! Best of Butterflies & Pure Gumption!

Good morning! Bula! (I just can't seem to stop myself from using this Fijiian greeting, I heard it from everyone I met in Fiji! I also noticed that men tended to emphasize the first part of the greeting more, pronouncing it "BOO-lah" with a very heavy sound, and the women pronounced it much more lightly – "bu-LAH")

Anyway, I have THREE fun swaps to show you from the swap boards in Fiji. Because they were attached to the board I have no idea who the creators are, but they are very fine swaps!

Note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless otherwise stated.

First, an ingeniously folded grad-cap card using the stamp set, Pure Gumption and Parker's Patterns Designer Paper!

Pure gumption

Next two swaps using the 25th Anniversary Collection stamp set, Best of Flowers!

This one is clean-and-simple, just the way a sympathy card should be:

Best of flowers 1

This one has some color popped with a Sponge Dauber and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter added with a 2-way Glue Pen. The largest Apothecary Accents Framelit was used to both frame the focal image and to cut the Basic Black mat behind it. The Lacy Brocade-embossed layer has been sponged with some Frost White Shimmer Paint!

Best of flowers 2

That's all for now! I'm off today to see Liam! I haven't given him a hug in over a week! I'm dying to see him! Then this evening I will be attending Maddie Kate's end-of-school choir concert! Yay!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #4!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #4!

Good morning! Hope you are having a good day! I am, or at least will once I get a little bit more awake! Spending time here on my blog with you all helps get me going!

Here's the final card I created for my "Best Of . . " class this weekend. I loved this little hydrangea stamp when it was a big stamp in the Hostess set a couple of years ago, and I love it even more now as a miniature of the original!

I did the "Stained Glass" technique for this card. Heat embossed the flower with White Embossing Powder on White Vellum cardstock, then flipped it over and colored the back side of the vellum with Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers. When you flip the vellum back over to the white embossed side the color shows through the frosty paper, giving it a soft and pretty look! I attached the vellum layer to the white layer underneath with 3 Glue Dots behind the colored areas of the flower so they don't show through.

Everything is cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits and the Big Shot. I dug out my long-neglected pack of Twitterpated Designer Paper for the color scheme of Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, & Whisper White! The greeting is from Friendly Phrases.

Inside I used Beautiful Birthday again, just like I did for this card HERE. I love the font and size of this stamp, it's perfect for a soft, feminine card like this one.

Well, now that I am awake, I need to get busy! Today's class starts at 1 p.m.!

See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #2!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #2!

Actually now that I think about it, in reality this is Best of Flowers #3, as I showed you #1 back on March 21 HERE , which makes yesterday's #1 Post actually #2!

Are you as confused as I am?

Anywhoo, here's the next Best of Flowers card we will be making today and tomorrow at my "Best of . . " Class!

Daisy 5
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I REALLY like this one! It's so bright and spring-y!

Daffodil Delight cardstock, Chevron Textured Impressions Folder and Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, White Heat Embossing, brand-new daisy stamp from Best of Flowers 25th Anniversary stamp set for March, Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set, Floral District Designer Paper, Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon, and some Rhinestones Basic Jewels to give the card the extra little "bling" it needs!

Daisy 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

On the inside the verse from Feel Goods is set off by a strip of Floral District paper which has been run through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim Die!

It's just a little hard to tell from the first picture, but the center of each Whisper White-embossed flower has been colored in with a little more Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker.

That's all for now! Must run to put the finishing touches on my class today!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Good morning! Today is an exciting day for me! I get to go shopping ALL DAY with ALL of my daughters and my oldest granddaughter! I can't wait!

In addition to shopping, my youngest daughter, Alisa, (who is expecting my 6th grandchild, a boy! in July) will be starting her baby registry! I love it!

Since I have a few minutes before we leave, thought I would show you another of the cards we will be making tomorrow and Saturday at my "Best Of" Class!

I received a card with this general layout from Kathy Alt at last Saturday's Stampin' Up! St. Louis Regional, so I changed out the colors and designer paper, changed the greeting, added a technique and a Rhinestone, to make it my own!

Using the Best of Flowers stamp set, of course, I inked the miniature "Upsy Daisies" (Did you know that the re-issued stamps from the past are minatures of the originals? They are, which makes them perfect as an addition to the originals!) first in Wisteria Wonder ink, and then sponged on some Rich Razzleberry before stamping all together on the Whisper White!

I did the same inking technique on the "Oh Hello" stamp from the Oh Hello Stamp set. What do you think? After using this technique on the Tea Shoppe card HERE, I am having fun coming up with new ink color combos. Some colors don't look well together, and some, such as Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, really look almost the same when used together, so some experimentation is fun!

It probably doesn't look like it in this photo, but the chevron oval is actually stamped in Basic Gray!

Here's my Wisteria Wonder-inked stamp being sponged with Rich Razzleberry ink!

Here's a quick tutorial to make the Oval Punch Faux Bow:

Fold each punched oval gently and attach ends together with Glue Dots.

Attach both folded ovals
to DSP strip with Glue Dots.

To finish off center of bow, add a small strip of designer paper, a button, or a punched out shape with a Glue Dot.

That's all I have time for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!
