Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers Chalk Talk!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers Chalk Talk!

Good Monday morning! I have a bright and cheery card for you today using the daisy flower from the Best of Flowers 25th Anniversary set, one of the stamps from Chalk Talk, and a greeting from A Dozen Thoughts!

Wish Big 1

Cardstock colors are Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Naturals White, and Whisper White. Ink colors are Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Jet Black Stazon. The centers of the daisies are popped with color using a sponge dauber and Daffodil Delight ink! The "wish big" greeting was cut out with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits, then layered on a Daffodil Delight strip that was cut 1/8" wider then the greeting strip then the ends were banner-cut with Paper Snips.

Wish big 2

The inside greeting is the the June 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings. It was masked with a post-it note punched with the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, then the daisy was stamped all round the edges of the mask with Daffodil Delight ink.

The bottom of the card was stamped with the miniature upsy-daisy stamp from Best of Flowers.

I'm really diggin' this card! So much so that I believe it may have to be one of my convention swaps!

What do you think? Would you like to receive this card in a swap?

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! First Christmas Shadowbox Card!

Stampin’ Up! First Christmas Shadowbox Card!

I used a beautiful Holiday Catalog set, "First Christmas", to create this "shadowbox" card:

First christmas 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I chose to use the Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock for the front of the "stable".

Stampingrox! Product Review: After running this layer through the Big Shot in the "Woodgrain" Embossing Folder, I found the condition of the paper to be a bit more delicate than I really liked for a card with so many folds, but I was able to make it work! I also used the new "Stampin' Sanding System" to increase the distressed look of the woodgrain, which of course made the cardstock even more delicate! In the future I will limit my use of this particular cardstock to a flat second layer.

I heat embossed the baby in the manger, the greeting, and the star with Pewter Stampin' Emboss Powder. All were cut out with either the Labels or Bitty Banners Framelit Dies, as was the opening in the center of the "stable". The holly and berries embellishments were created with one of the leaf and stem "Cannery" framelits and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

Hope you've enjoyed my "shadowbox" card!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! Day!

Stampin’Up! NEW Annual 2012-2013 Catalog is HERE!

I really must apologize for the lack of blogging the past few days. I've been head-down getting ready for this weekend! LOTS going on around here! I had my New Catalog "Crazy Day" Open House yesterday, and WOW it WAS CRAZY! Over 40 stampers showed up to get their new sprial bound catalog from me, pick up unbound catalogs for friends who couldn't come, sign up for classes and product shares, view new catalog samples, and stamp two cute Make n' Takes!

Here's one (two actually, as their was a choice between these two samples):

Box 1

Aren't these CUTE!!!???!!!! They are just a simple little box with a wrap around them. I learned how to make these from Becky Roberts, and then got busy with new DSP and colors! Here's the side view:

We used the new "Summer Smooches" and "Floral District" Designer Paper for these, as well as the new "Itty Bitty Banners" stamp set and "Bitty Banners" Framelits! They open like this:

Box 3

I will post the simple cutting and scoring directions for these tomorrow, but right now I've got to run, we are taking Logan to college in Rolla, MO, which is a 3 hour drive, so have to get the ball rolling for that!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
