Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Backyard Basics!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Backyard Basics!

Hey there! I had a perfectly marvelous day yesterday with my stampers at my Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack! I can hardly wait to stamp some more on Monday!

For today's Sunday Swap Day I dug out a couple of swaps using Backyard Basics stamps and framelits from my monthly swap a few month's ago:

Laura Milligan used Soft Sky and Smoky Slate with Backyard Basics for her calm and serene card above.

Ruth Bingle went with a similar soft color palette, using Wisteria Wonder instead of Soft Sky. I love her watercolored iris and smart little bow made with the Oval Punch!

The only thing I would add to these cards would be a greeting so they would "speak"!

This Sunday is a busy day with a bake sale after church, family lunch at our house (as usual), then  a Ladies' Friendship Circle meeting before church again!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Good morning! Today is an exciting day for me! I get to go shopping ALL DAY with ALL of my daughters and my oldest granddaughter! I can't wait!

In addition to shopping, my youngest daughter, Alisa, (who is expecting my 6th grandchild, a boy! in July) will be starting her baby registry! I love it!

Since I have a few minutes before we leave, thought I would show you another of the cards we will be making tomorrow and Saturday at my "Best Of" Class!

I received a card with this general layout from Kathy Alt at last Saturday's Stampin' Up! St. Louis Regional, so I changed out the colors and designer paper, changed the greeting, added a technique and a Rhinestone, to make it my own!

Using the Best of Flowers stamp set, of course, I inked the miniature "Upsy Daisies" (Did you know that the re-issued stamps from the past are minatures of the originals? They are, which makes them perfect as an addition to the originals!) first in Wisteria Wonder ink, and then sponged on some Rich Razzleberry before stamping all together on the Whisper White!

I did the same inking technique on the "Oh Hello" stamp from the Oh Hello Stamp set. What do you think? After using this technique on the Tea Shoppe card HERE, I am having fun coming up with new ink color combos. Some colors don't look well together, and some, such as Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, really look almost the same when used together, so some experimentation is fun!

It probably doesn't look like it in this photo, but the chevron oval is actually stamped in Basic Gray!

Here's a quick tutorial to make the Oval Punch Faux Bow:

Fold each punched oval gently and attach ends together with Glue Dots.

Attach both folded ovals
to DSP strip with Glue Dots.

To finish off center of bow, add a small strip of designer paper, a button, or a punched out shape with a Glue Dot.

That's all I have time for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!
