The secret to the perfect Negative Masking on this card?

The Two-way Glue Pen!

Stamped
Cut out the butterfly image from the Beautiful Wings Die with copy paper to create the butterfly-shaped mask. Swipe the Two-way glue pen around the outside edges of the butterfly. Allow the glue to air-dry for a few minutes. When air-dried, Two-way glue becomes tacky like a Post-It Note. Lay the mask tacky-side down on your card front. Sponge & stamp inside the mask as desired. For this card I sponged Lucky Limeade and then Baja Breeze. I sponged with a soft, swirling motion to get a smooth, even look.

Before removing the mask, I stamped the "upsy-daisy" image from Best of Flowers with Jet Black StazOn.

The Two-way Glue tackiness should not damage your stamped image and should be easy to remove.

There you are! What do you think? Likey? I definitely likey!

I have two more cards from this class I will share with you tomorrow, but for now I must finish my prep for my "Yes, Mam! Stampers" Downline meeting tonight!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Butterflies!

Stampin’ Up! Butterflies!

Good morning! It's a gray and foggy day here, and I'm not wde awake yet, but wanted to share these fun samples with you, a few more from my photo stash from the St Louis Regional!

Note: All products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

Beautiful butterfly

The above card was on the sample board. It combines Tea for Two Designer Paper with the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot Die, Ticket Duo Punch, and the That's the Ticket and Loving Thoughts stamp sets! They used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack on page 27 of the Occasions catalog to pierce the perfect oval design behind the butterf

Beautiful butterfly medallion

This sample combines the Floral Frames Framelits, Daydream Medallions stamps, and the Beautiful Butterflies Die. It is a full card, folded and cut out with the framelit so the entire card is a flower!

My friend

Can you say MONOCHROMATIC? I don't often do a monochromatic card, but this one is a good example! My Friend stamp set, Very Vintage Wheel, and the Elegant Butterfly Punch all combine to make a truly elegant card.

Clockworks 1

The Regionals stamp set was Clockworks, and this swapper combined it with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and one of my all-time favs, Friendly Phrases! I love the "faux ribbon" down the front of the card, which is actually designer paper!

Clockworks 2

The Bitty Butterfly punch was punched through the front of the card to create the "window" for the Designer-paper-punched butterfly to peek through!

That's all for now! Hope you enjoyed these fun butterfly ideas! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Rain or Shine, and YES I WAS FREAKED!

Stampin’ Up! Rain or Shine, and YES I WAS FREAKED!

Good morning! Just a REALLLLY quick post this morning! My sister-in-law, Debbie, and her daughter and grandson are coming today! They will most likely be here before noon, and I still have lots to do to be ready for their arrival!

To report about the 3rd season of "Downton Abbey": yes, I WAS freaked! Come on, killing off TWO primary characters in ONE season? Are you kidding me? But of course, you can't let people be really happy for very long in a soap opera, even a British one, can you? Looking forward to the 4th season NEXT YEAR! A long time to wait, but DVD's will help!

Today's quick card needs very little explanation. I've seen versions of this Rain or Shine card on several websites, so can't really give credit to one person, so I won't try:

Rain or Shine 1

The key to punching the 2 1/2" Circle negative image? Cut your paper strip to punch 2 3/8" wide, then leave an equal amount of space showing above and below the strip when you punch it (just a sliver shows top & bottom) like this:

Rain or shine 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I used the Stamp-a-majig to stamp the umbrella handle. I usually try to purchase wood-mount stamps when the images beg to be Stamp-a-majigged like this one does! For me it's easier to stamp the image once on a piece of Cardstock Vellum with the wood block. I then save the stamped Vellum in the box with the stamps so I never have to re-stamp it like you do when you use a clear-mount stamp with the Stamp-a-majig. You KNOW the stamp on the wood block isn't ever going to move!

The inside is a clean and simple as the outside with a phrase from Friendly Phrases:

Rain or shine 2

That's it for today! I've got to get busy!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
