Stampin’ Up! a Couple of Birthday Cards!

Stampin’ Up! a Couple of Birthday Cards!

Hey there! I arrived home last night from Leadership in Houston, TX and am both exhilarated and exhausted! Can you relate?

I have tons of fun new stuff to show you but none of it has been edited or sized to fit on my blog. When I sat down with my laptop I find that my mouse is apparently wearing out and will barely right click, so I found a couple of birthday swaps that you haven’t seen yet but are still current:

Stampin_up_zoo_review_1

These little guys from Zoo Review are just adorable. The creator (sorry, I’ve lost the name) used the masking technique to stamp the penguin in the middle, covered him with a mask, then stamped the same penguin on either side of him. SO KAY-UTE! The “you can never have too much happy” from Yippee-Skippee! matches perfectly with this little group of guys!

Stampin_up_chalk_talk_1

My second offering for you today uses a riot of punches to create the happy little clown and the pennant banner! The “happy BIG day” from the Chalk Talk set has a bit of a “big top” feel to it, don’t you think?

Well, this is all I can manage today without my trusty mouse working properly! I have to run some errands today, so in addition to getting my teeth cleaned, buying a new phone (Instagram, here I come!), and getting groceries, I will be purchasing a new mouse!

Today is the last day for the current Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals. To shop for those click HERE.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Spiral Flower Die, Fringe Scissors, and More!

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Spiral Flower Die, Fringe Scissors, and More!

Hey there! Last day of Leadership was today. Sad. But Leadership being over means I will be on my way home on Sunday and start getting ready to share all I have learned with my stampers and my downline! Sweet! I had a fabulous time at Leadership, it's true, but now it's time to go home and put all these great new ideas into practice! I can hardly wait! yay!

Here's more of the pictures I wanted to share with you last night but the hotel internet wouldn't let me upload:

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die

The Demonstrator Resource Center, in addition to the Blendabilities demonstration, also had a girl making tons of these adorable flowers with the Spiral Flower Die. So cute! Depending on how tightly you roll them, how much you let them relax after rolling, and where you adhere them, you can make an endless variety of shapes and sizes of flowers! The one on the right is a sucker treat. You just cut the flower with the die, but then instead of rolling tightly and adhering you just punch a hole in the base of the spiral and insert a sucker on a stick! Key-utte! These would make fun valentine or birthday party favors!

Here's another treat flower, only this time the flower has been adhered together with Secret Garden Framelit-cut leaves and a Pearl Basic Jewel added! The flower and the sentiment from Love You to the Moon have been added to the lollipop package with Glue Dots.

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_2

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_2 More possibilities with the Spiral Flower Die.

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_3

Sponged edges with Crisp Cantaloupe ink and the die will cut felt, (and fabric too!).

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_6

Gold glittered edges . . .

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_1

A flowery heart wreath!

Stampin_up_fringe_scissors_flowers

Another style of flower you can create with a new Occasions Catalog product, the Fringe Scissors! At $9.95, these 5-bladed scissors are a great value!

Stampin_up_people_like_you_emboss_resist

Here's a couple of swaps I was able to take pictures of! The People Like You stamp has been clear embossed on Very Vanilla which had already been stamped with the En Francais background. After clear embossing, the creator of this swap (I just took a picture of this one, I don't have the original to be able to give you the creator's name!) then sponged or brayered the Pear Pizzazz and then Marina Mist (I think) ink over the image. Embossed images will resist the ink, allowing you to wipe away the excess ink with a tissue. The technique is called "emboss resist"!  LOVE it!

Stampin_up_petite_petals_beautifully_baroque

Finally, the creator of this swap achieved a lovely vintage look with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Folder, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla cardstock, Victoria Crochet Trim, Petite Petals stamp and Petite Petal punch, Ovals Collection Framelits, Pearls Basic Jewels,******* greeting, and Crumb Cake sponging!

Well, I've got to close for now and go get packed! Our flight takes off at 2:05 tomorrow afternoon!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #1!

Good morning! Today is an exciting day for me! I get to go shopping ALL DAY with ALL of my daughters and my oldest granddaughter! I can't wait!

In addition to shopping, my youngest daughter, Alisa, (who is expecting my 6th grandchild, a boy! in July) will be starting her baby registry! I love it!

Since I have a few minutes before we leave, thought I would show you another of the cards we will be making tomorrow and Saturday at my "Best Of" Class!

I received a card with this general layout from Kathy Alt at last Saturday's Stampin' Up! St. Louis Regional, so I changed out the colors and designer paper, changed the greeting, added a technique and a Rhinestone, to make it my own!

Using the Best of Flowers stamp set, of course, I inked the miniature "Upsy Daisies" (Did you know that the re-issued stamps from the past are minatures of the originals? They are, which makes them perfect as an addition to the originals!) first in Wisteria Wonder ink, and then sponged on some Rich Razzleberry before stamping all together on the Whisper White!

I did the same inking technique on the "Oh Hello" stamp from the Oh Hello Stamp set. What do you think? After using this technique on the Tea Shoppe card HERE, I am having fun coming up with new ink color combos. Some colors don't look well together, and some, such as Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant, really look almost the same when used together, so some experimentation is fun!

It probably doesn't look like it in this photo, but the chevron oval is actually stamped in Basic Gray!

Here's my Wisteria Wonder-inked stamp being sponged with Rich Razzleberry ink!

Here's a quick tutorial to make the Oval Punch Faux Bow:

Fold each punched oval gently and attach ends together with Glue Dots.

Attach both folded ovals
to DSP strip with Glue Dots.

To finish off center of bow, add a small strip of designer paper, a button, or a punched out shape with a Glue Dot.

That's all I have time for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up!Technique: Spotlighting with the Swallowtail!

Stampin’ Up!Technique: Spotlighting with the Swallowtail!

Happy Friday Stampers! Today I want to show you the second card for the Techniques part of my class tomorrow. This card uses the Swallowtail single "background" sized stamp and the butterfly punches to create the "spotlighting" effect:

Spotlighting 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

While the Spotlghting technique is not new, I have never seen anyone use a punch other than a cirlce or a square. Truth be told, this is a technique that I actually woke up thinking about a few weeks ago, so I'm very glad to have a chance to get this idea down on paper! I used the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly punches to achieve this effect.

Spotlighting 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I finished off the inside with the butterfly stamp in the Sale-a-bration set, Bloomin' Marvelous, and a phrase from You are Loved.

Seems my stamping lately has been dominated by Island Indigo, but I love this color! I'm definitely going to miss it when Stampin' Up! retires this color at the end of May.

That's all for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!
