Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day! Fall is Here!

All products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013Ah, Sunday Swap Day! The day I share some of the samples I receive in the monthly swaps I participate in! Today's theme is "fall"!

Ann Betty created this lovely offering with the Truly Grateful stamp set, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, Sweater Weather Designer Paper, and the Circle Card Thinlet Die!

I love how EASY it is to add the Candy Dots to any project! Just lift with the point of your Paper-Piercing Tool or Paper Snips, then position on your project whereever you want!

After the project is flipped:

Next, Kelly Acheson created this Center Easel card with the same Truly Grateful stamp set, Crushed Curry cardstock, Chevron Folder, 1 1/4" Burlap Trim, and the Window Frame Framelits.

Mary Waring heat-embossed her offering with Tangerine Tango embossing powder to give the Magnificent Maple stamp a bit more texture. I love how the e.p. coordinates perfectly with the Sweater Weather Designer Paper!

Alas, the final sample for today had no name attached, but it is a lovely card none the less!The Early Espresso/Crumb Cake combo is a perfect setting for the shock of wheat one more time!

And inside, a greeting for the Best of Greetings 25th Anniversary Stamp set!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Butterflies in Flight!

Good morning! Happy 4th of July! Hope you have something fun on your agenda for today, and I hope you take time to be thankful for the freedom and liberty we all enjoy but take for granted!

Today's card uses a technique I've been admiring for awhile but hadn't tried yet, and I'm not sure what its' official name is, but for this one I'm calling it "butterflies in flight"!

I stamped this butterfly from the Best of Butterflies stamp set in Jet Black StazOn all along the edge of this Whisper White Notecard. I added the colors of Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Wisteria Wonder to the butterflies with a Sponge Dauber, then used my Paper Snips to cut out the edges of the notecard and partially around the butterflies to give the allusion of the butterflies "fluttering" off the page!

I stamped the "hi" from Regarding Dahlias, then added a butterfly for the dot in the "i" that was stamped with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly, and punched with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I added a Basic Black grounding layer to the back of the notecard just to give it a little more pop and substance since Whisper White cardstock is a bit thin as a card base. I finished off the butterflies with small Basic Jewel Pearls.

The inside layer has a Wisteria Wonder panel that has been embossed with the Modern Mosaic folder, and the greeting is from the 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings.

That's all for now. We are planning to have a get-together with some of Mark's family this evening. We missed the local fireworks because they were last Saturday out at the lake. I never have understood having fireworks early instead of ON the weekend the 4th is closest to, but they don't ask my opinion, so there you go.

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers Chalk Talk!

Good Monday morning! I have a bright and cheery card for you today using the daisy flower from the Best of Flowers 25th Anniversary set, one of the stamps from Chalk Talk, and a greeting from A Dozen Thoughts!

Cardstock colors are Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Naturals White, and Whisper White. Ink colors are Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Jet Black Stazon. The centers of the daisies are popped with color using a sponge dauber and Daffodil Delight ink! The "wish big" greeting was cut out with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits, then layered on a Daffodil Delight strip that was cut 1/8" wider then the greeting strip then the ends were banner-cut with Paper Snips.

The inside greeting is the the June 25th Anniversary set, Best of Greetings. It was masked with a post-it note punched with the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, then the daisy was stamped all round the edges of the mask with Daffodil Delight ink.

The bottom of the card was stamped with the miniature upsy-daisy stamp from Best of Flowers.

I'm really diggin' this card! So much so that I believe it may have to be one of my convention swaps!

The bottom of the card was stamped with the miniature upsy-daisy stamp from Best of Flowers.

I'm really diggin' this card! So much so that I believe it may have to be one of my convention swaps!

Happy Father’s Day! Secret Garden Masked Corners Re-visited!

Good morning! Happy Father's Day! I'm sure many of you will be preparing a meal, or get-together for the fathers in your life, so I will make this a quick post!

My dad passed away 19 years ago. I still miss him and think of him often. He was a great Dad and an even GREATER grandpa! Just ask my oldest three: Jessica, Kimberly, and Troy, they will tell you Grandpa Wall was the BEST!

Yesterday I prepped for my workshops this coming week. One of them is a monthly class/club, so I see several of the same stampers every month. Last month they picked THIS CARD from my display to do this month. Two of the ink colors, all of the word stamps, and the ribbon retired on May 31, so I re-worked the card using all current products:

What do you think? I kept the Secret Garden stamps and Framelits Collection, then substituted Blushing Bride for Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz for Lucky Limeade, Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon for Certainly Celery ribbon, and a phrase from Best of Greetings instead of the retired Friendly Phrases.

Inside I switched out the Beautiful Birthday stamp (one of my all-time favs) for one of the stamps from the new Million & One set (which is quickly becoming a NEW fav of mine)!

Well,I still have some things to prep and gather together for the day! It's church first, of course, then grilling out at Jessica's, swimming, (maybe a nap, who knows?), and generally hanging out with the entire family the rest of the day! I can't wait!
