Stampin’ Up! Rose Garden Framed!

Stampin’ Up! Rose Garden Framed!

Hey there! It's been a few days since I've blogged. I think I just needed a little break after the whirlwind of going to OnStage in Salt Lake, and the pins-and-needles before that of waiting to find out if my husband's melanoma had spread. Thanks to the Lord, all came back clear and all he has to remember the ordeal is a healing scar on his chin. I also hosted an Open House on Tuesday with my two daughters to kick off spring for their three home-based-businesses, as well as my little side business, Origami Owl. On Wednesday we had our whole family over for supper so our youngest daughter, Alisa, and her husband, Cody, could reveal the gender of their new baby, due in late September. The announcement was PINK, and we are thrilled to be welcoming another little girl into our family; a baby sister for Oakley and Lando, and a girl cousin for Darcy! The rest of the week I spent babysitting and/or catching up on so many things that get left behind when you are getting ready for a trip. Now I hope to get back to a regular stamping and blogging schedule. I have LOTS of great new ideas and a lovely box of pre-pre-order stamps and accessories from the upcoming 2016/17 Annual Catalog to play with! yay!

Today's card I created a few weeks ago, with a Rose Red  background and Rose Garden Framelits:

Stampin_up_a_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Both the Pink Pirouette 1/2" Seam Binding and A Dozen Thoughts stamp set that the "hello" greeting is from are on the retired list! The Pink Pirouette 1/2" Seam Binding is even discounted 40%, so it is $4.20 a roll instead of the original $7!

Stampin_up_a_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

One product that I heaved a sigh of relief that ISN'T retiring is  the  Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits I used to cut the window around the rose.

Stampin_up_a_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I used the cut-out from inside the frame to stamp another greeting from A Dozen Thoughts, and used the metal framelit itself as my stencil to sponge the Rose Red ink to create the soft roses in the corners.

Stampin’ Up! A Dozen Thoughts Butterflies!

Hey there! Today I have a simple card created with both sets of the butterflies framelits dies!

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_butterfly_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on the white background, and created the banner with English Garden Designer Series Paper and the Banner Triple Punch.

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_butterfly_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I cut the Perfect Plum butterfly overlay with the medium Butterflies Thinlets Die with the largest Bold Butterfly Framelits for the Basic Black underlay. I adhered together with my Fine Tip Glue Pen, then adhered to the card with Glue Dots. White Perfect Accents complete the body center.

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_butterfly_carolpaynestamps5 - Copy

"just because" from A Dozen Thoughts is stamped with Perfect Plum and cut with a Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits Die. I traced around the outside of the same die on Perfect Plum, cutting with Paper Snips. After I adhered the layers together, I hand-trimmed the plum layer in half.

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Inside I stamped "YOU'RE IN MY THOUGHTS"  from A Dozen Thoughts on Whisper White, then cut with another Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit. A 1" wide strip of English Garden ties the inside and outside together.

I used the coordinating smallest butterflies from both sets of framelits to layer the inside butterfly, adding a single White Perfect Accent.

Stampin’ Up! A Bouquet to Get Better!

Stampin’ Up! A Bouquet to Get Better!

Hey there! I try to stamp a little every day, but of course priorities take first place. But right now I have  a nice little stack of projects lined up to share!

Today's project I'm mailing to a friend who just had surgery. She's a stamper, so I'm sure she will appreciate this simple card I created with Birthday Bouquet designer paper and a greeting from A Dozen Thoughts:
Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I started with a card base of Mossy Meadow, then added a layer of Watermelon Wonder.

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

The phrase "better get better" from A Dozen Thoughts is ideal for this get well card. I punched with the Washi Label Punch, then added two more Watermelon Wonder punched labels behind.

Stampin_up_dozen_thoughts_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

The Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim I used for the bow is perfect!w It's stretchy , soft, and ties easily. I secured the knot with a glue dot. This ribbon, along with all of the other 2015/2016 In Color 1" Dotted Lace Trims, will probably be retiring on May 31st. Stampin' Up! usually brings out new embellishments to enhance the second year of In Colors in the new catalog, so if you love this ribbon as much as I do, you need to order some NOW because when it's gone, it will be GONE!

Stampin_up_youve_got_this_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Inside I used images from "You've Got This" because they resemble the flowers on the designer paper and because the sentiment echoes the purpose of the surgery.

Changes, changes, changes. They happen all the time, don't they? Things will be changing with the coming New Annual Catalog on June 1st, and the Retiring Stamps & Accessories List will post on Monday, April 18th. I will post it here that day. AND THERE ARE JUST TWO WEEKS OF WEEKLY DEALS LEFT! Weekly Deals will be no more after April 18th. This week's deals are better and more than ever, so be sure to check them out while you can!

But for now, all items I used to make today's project  are still available to order in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! English Garden Glassine Butterfly!

Stampin’ Up! English Garden Glassine Butterfly!

Hey there! Happy 4th of July! I hope you get to spend your day with people you love, celebrating our great country's independence anniversary!

Today I have another card I created, possibly for a swap, with the English Garden Designer Paper and the Butterflies and Bold Butterflies Framelit Dies:

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_1

The butterfly is created from one layer of Rose Red card stock cut with the larger of the two Bold Butterfly Framelits, and the top layer is a Glassine Sheet cut with the coordinating Butterflies Framelits Die.

I took the white adhesive layer from the back of a White Perfect Accent to make it a clear round dot, then added it to the butterfly with a glue dot. I used Gold Metallic Thread again, knotting the loops to attach to the back of the butterfly head, also with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_2

The longer this card exists, however, the more the edges of the glassine butterfly curl. I think I need to re-work these layers. Glassine Sheets are similar to waxed paper, so the lacy butterflies are very delicate but also fragile.

Stampin_up_english_garden_glassine_3

Inside I added a 1/4" wide strip of the same English Garden pattern to pull it all together. I love the "just because" from A Dozen Thoughts. It's so girly and sweet!

Here's the supply list for today. You can order it all in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Glue Dots

$5.25

1. All orders of any amount will receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me!

Stampin’ Up! Kind Koala Slider Pop-Up!

Stampin’ Up! Kind Koala Slider Pop-Up!

Hey there! I "think" I am finished with slider pop-up cards for awhile, but I couldn't move on to something else without showing you this little cutie pie we made at a class last week:

Stampin_up_kind_koala_1 - Copy

I used Kind Koala, A Dozen Thoughts, All Boxed Up, and the Honeycomb Textured Impressions folder. We used the folder as a stamp!

Stampin_up_kind_koala_2 - Copy

I omitted the flower on the stamp as I inked it with markers so I could replace it with punched flowers from  Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I punched Blackberry Bliss card stock with the 1/4" Handheld punch to add to the center, then finished it off with a rhinestone.

Stampin_up_kind_koala_3 - Copy

The Gold Baker's Twine I used coordinated perfectly with every thing else!

Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Four Thanks!

Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Four Thanks!

Hey there! I just got home from the Spring Into Stamping event in Champaign, IL a few hours ago. After I arrived home I headed back to Mt Vernon to grab the groceries we need for Sunday dinner tomorrow. Now I am home, the groceries are put away and I'm about ready to put myself away for the night too!

My presentation went really well and I received a lot of positive feedback.I feel like it was a day well spent!

I'm really too tired at the moment to post a Sunday Swap Day blog, so I'm just going to share this next card in my Fabulous Four series and call it a night. We will have a Sunday Swap Day on Monday, ok?

Stampin_up_fabulous_four_thanks_1 - Copy

This card uses the same Fabulous Four set and Sweet Dreams Designer Series Paper, and a length of Gold Metallic Baker's Twine.

Stampin_up_fabulous_four_thanks_2 - Copy

I continued the diagonal strips of designer paper on the inside, then added a sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts and accent images from Little Sunshine.

That's really all for now. I'm happily worn out for today. Hopefully by the time you read this post I will be waking up from a restful night's sleep!

Here's the supply list for today. You can order everything on the list in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
