Stampin’ Up! Owl Graduate by Donna!

Stampin’ Up! Owl Graduate by Donna!

Hey there! I'm still up after midnight, so I'm going to do a quick post and then head off to bed!

One of my dear stamping friends, Donna, came to my Birthday Card Buffet this past Saturday. Donna has been stamping with me since probably 2005, over 9 years ago, and during that time has become a really good friend.

Donna stamps ALOT. She has a good portion of her basement outfitted for her stamping domain. We have a monthly stamp camp there and we love it!

Donna made this special graduation card for her niece who just graduated from college:

Stampin_up_owl_builder_graduation_1
Isn't this just adorable????!!!!

Donna used the Owl Builder Punch, the Scalloped Oval Punch, and a few other elements to create her graduating birdie!

Stampin_up_owl_builder_graduation_2

She hand-cut the pieces for the graduation cap, and custom-dyed the Baker's Twine to get the rich red color for the tassel.

Stampin_up_owl_builder_punch_graduation_3
Stamped-off Smoky Slate was used to stamp the "celebrate" background. I love this extra little touch that adds so much to the specialness of this card!

That's all for now! I've got to put myself to bed.

You can find many of the supplies to make this card in my Online Store.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

My project today follows the ConGraduation, Congratualations theme with the Pure Gumption stamp set from page 52 of the Annual Catalog:

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_1 - Copy

I created the kite by punching one straight pennant from the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and one triangle from the triangle punch from Silver Glimmer Paper. I added narrow strips of Basic Black cardstock for the struts of the kite, White Baker's Twine for the kite string, and tiny Silver Glimmer hearts punched with the Owl Builder Punch.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_2 - Copy

I used my custom-made cloud embossing plate for the clouds. You can see how to make your own cloud plate HERE. I sponged my clouds with Soft Sky ink.

The greeting is from Pure Gumption, stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink and cut out with a Word Bubbles Framelit.

Stampin_up_pure_gumption_3 - Copy

Inside is stamped very straighforward with more stamps from the same set. Pure Gumption is a one-stop stamp set for graduation/congratulations!

Stampin’Up! Scalloped Tag Topper Birthday Basics Balloon Card!

Stampin’Up! Scalloped Tag Topper Birthday Basics Balloon Card!

Good morning! My laptop had been grumbling at me for the past couple of days about updates, which I had been ignoring, but last night it refused to upload my camera photos, so I accepted the inevitable, updated, restarted, and went to bed!

This morning the cold/sinus thing is still with me. I feel better, but am debating visiting a clinic to get some meds. The left side of my face is still full of junk!

I know I am feeling better because I sat down and stamped this last night. It just made me happy!

Next to Christmas cards, birthday cards are my favorite to make, and this one was pretty quick and easy! Cards with closures made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch are very trendy right now. I made this one is a bit easier with a "faux closure". Here's how I did it:

I started with Gumball Green cardstock 4" x just a hair less than 2":

Stampin_up_scalloped_tag_topper_tab_1 - Copy

I punched both ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch:

Stampin_up_scalloped_tag_topper_tab_2 - Copy

I cut the punched strip apart, making one piece 1 1/2" long and the other 2 1/4" long. I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of each piece as shown:

Stampin_up_scalloped_tag_topper_tab_3 - Copy

After adhering the pieces to my card front I tied a 12" piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon through the slots of the punched ends.

Stampin_up_scalloped_tag_topper_tab_4 - Copy

Inside I used more of the Birthday Basics Designer Paper and a Very Vanilla strip punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I stamped a sentiment from the Photopolymer stamp set, Bombs Away Birthday with Raspberry Ripple ink.

We are nearing the end of Sale-a-bration (ends March 31st!) AND we are also nearing the end of the current Annual Catalog. I'm awful about hoarding Designer Paper, but this year I'm trying to use more of it up before it retires. You will be seeing LOTS more Designer Paper used on my creations and inside the envelopes from now on!

Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Cheer Up! Owl!

Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Cheer Up! Owl!

Hey there! I'm back again today with another card using the Geometrical stamp set and the Owl Builder Punch. I think I'm a little obsessed, but the phrases in this set are just so different from anything we've had in awhile, I'm really diggin' it! Stampin_up_geometrical_owl_buttercup
I started with a cardbase of Coastal Cabana, then added a layer of Soft Suede that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder. Before I embossed the Soft Suede, however, I stamped the tree branch from Take Care with Early Espresso ink so I would have something for my little owl to sit on!

Today's owl is Early Espresso with a vest of Retro Fresh Designer Paper and those adorable Gold Sequin Trim eyes!

I inked the "cheer up buttercup" stamp from Geometrical with my Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers, then stamped on a scrap of Naturals Ivory. I cut it out with one of the Word Bubbles Framelit Dies in the Occasions Catalog, then mounted it above the owl with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_geometrical_peachy_keen

Inside I simply inked "you're Peach keen" from the Peachy Keen stamp set with the same markers. Those cute little "arrowheads" are inked with the same colors too and mimic the designer paper vest on the owl! I love the way Stampin' Up! coordinates several different products into a "suite"! You will find all this suite on pages 18-19 of the New Occasions Catalog.

That's all for now! Tomorrow is my "Yes, Mam! Stampers" downline meeting and I am prepping this card for the Shoebox Swap! yay!

Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Meets the Owl!

Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Meets the Owl!

Hey there! I had a post almost completely ready to go last night, but I fell asleep with my hands still on the keyboard and when I woke up the post was gone. I hate when I do that. I just closed the computer and went to bed. sigh.

Even though that post is gone forever, I still have the card to show you!

Stampin_up_geometrical_owl_on_film_1

When I was creating the Geometrical card I showed you a few days ago HERE the idea for this one starting percolating in my brain and I couldn't stop thinking about it! The sequins on the "oo" just looked too much like owl eyes to ignore, so last night I sat down an made this card with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, Retro Fresh Desginer Paper, Gold Sequin Trim, Geometrical stamp set, Owl Builder Punch, Chevron Border Punch, and the new On Film Framelits Dies.

I pullled the colors of Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango, and So Saffron from the DSP, then added Naturals Ivory, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso. It's a lot more colors than I usually work with at one time on one card, but it worked!

I inked the "hooray" first with my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, then stamped on the Naturals Ivory paper. I cleaned and dried my stamp on my Stampin' Scrub, then tested it for dryness on scratch paper before re-inking "for today" with my Tangerine Tango marker. I then moved over a couple of letters and lined up the un-inked "Hooray" with the stamped "Hooray" and stamped "for today" so it is more right-justified than on the original stamp. (my stamps today are wood-mount, but you can do the same thing with the clear-mount stamps) This left me room to add the owl from the Owl Builder punch with those Gold Sequin Trim eyes!

Before I added the owl, I embossed the Naturals Ivory layer with my Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, then lightly sponged Soft Suede ink over the woodgrain ridges. I attached this layer to the Early Espresso card base with Stampin' Dimensionals for a firmer attachment than just using SNAIL adhesive would give with all the texture on the paper after embossing.

My owl looked a little lost on the card until I added the Coastal Cabana "polaroid" frame from the On Film Framelits Dies with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added punched chevrons of Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, and So Saffron, and then added a Gold Sequin to each.

Stampin_up_chalk_talk_chevron_border

Inside I used "happy BIG day" from the Chalk Talk stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with one of the Chalk Talk framelits. I layered it on a Tangerine Tango and a Coastal Cabana-punched Decorative Label. More punched chevrons give the bottom of this card a coordinated look!

This card would work well for a birthday, graduation, or even retirement card, yes?

That's all for now! I have another card to show you tomorrow, also using the Geometrical stamp set and Owl Builder Punch! Whoo Hoo!

To order the supplies to make this card, click HERE to go to my Online Store.

Stampin’ Up! See Ya Later Post-It Notes!

Stampin’ Up! See Ya Later Post-It Notes!

Hey there! We are just about done with Christmas gatherings. Mark's siblings are all leaving today, but tonight is Jaxon's 2nd birthday party! Having your birthday the day after Christmas is hard. You're still in the middle of Christmas with one side of the family or the other on that day. Jessica decided to wait until things had calmed down a bit to have his family get to-gether, I purchased his birthday gifts while we were shopping for Christmas, so I am ready!

Today I have another project to share with you that we will be making at the Stampin' in the New Year Birthday Stamp-a-Stack, a Post-It Note Holder with Fresh Prints Designer Paper and a Sale-a-bration stamp set, See Ya Later:

Stampin_up_see_ya_later_1

Guess I had Post-It Notes on the brain when I was creating for this class! I have Post-its on this project and the calendar too! Oh well, they make great gifts and are always handy!

This is a re-do of a project I posted in January of 2012 HERE. The designer paper,  brads and the Big Shot Die I used for it are no longer available, but I used the largest Squares Collection Framelit for the base instead, and used the Owl Builder Punch and the Small Heart Punch to add just the right embellishment for this project!

That's all for now. I have a bit more prep to finish before the class starts Wednesday afternoon. I still have a few more seats open, be sure to RSVP to me today if you are coming! For those of you who can't attend or live too far away, I will be posting the directions for these projects after the classes are over while I am gone to Houston, TX, for Leadership.

Oh, did I tell you I'm presenting at the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference on January 9th? Eeek! I'm working on the projects I will show during my presentation too!

Just a few more days left to order your final favs from the Holiday Catalog, Clearance Rack, and the Weekly Deals for this week! Go to my website to order:

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
