Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments Baby Card!

Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments Baby Card!

Hey there! Today I want to share with you the card I created for the gifts I gave to my daughter-in-law, Faith, at the baby shower I helped give for baby Wesley.

I found some adorable paper at Hobby Lobby to wrap the gifts, then looked through my stamps and dies to see what I had to coordinate. I decided to use the Enchanting Details Dies and Charming Sentiments stamps to create my card.

I started with a card base of Basic Gray, then added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8
layer of Mango Melody. Before I added the 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Smoky Slate I used a Blending Brush to softly swirl Basic Gray around the edges. I then added the garland die-cut from Balmy Blue card stock, the moon & stars die-cut from Mango Melody, and the Cloud punched from Basic White. I used a Black Stampin' Write Marker to add the faux stitching around the cloud and the sleepy face. To make adhering all of the die-cuts easier, I added Adhesive Sheet to the back of the card stock before die-cutting.

Before adhering the moon & stars I sponged the edges with Mango Melody ink. I used the same Basic Black marker to add another sleeping profile face and a q-tip to softly add a bit of cheek color with Polished Pink ink.

I stamped the greeting from Charming Sentiments with Basic Gray ink. I added a single Heart Pearl to finish off the front.

I stamped another sentiment from Charming Sentiments on the inside and used the moon & stars die to cut a stencil to sponge the shapes on the inside.

Stampin’ Up! Owl Graduate by Donna!

Stampin’ Up! Owl Graduate by Donna!

Hey there! I'm still up after midnight, so I'm going to do a quick post and then head off to bed!

One of my dear stamping friends, Donna, came to my Birthday Card Buffet this past Saturday. Donna has been stamping with me since probably 2005, over 9 years ago, and during that time has become a really good friend.

Donna stamps ALOT. She has a good portion of her basement outfitted for her stamping domain. We have a monthly stamp camp there and we love it!

Donna made this special graduation card for her niece who just graduated from college:

Isn't this just adorable????!!!!

Donna used the Owl Builder Punch, the Scalloped Oval Punch, and a few other elements to create her graduating birdie!

Stampin_up_owl_builder_graduation_2

She hand-cut the pieces for the graduation cap, and custom-dyed the Baker's Twine to get the rich red color for the tassel.

Stamped-off Smoky Slate was used to stamp the "celebrate" background. I love this extra little touch that adds so much to the specialness of this card!

That's all for now! I've got to put myself to bed.

You can find many of the supplies to make this card in my Online Store.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown for the Boys!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown for the Boys!

Hey there! Today's post is a continuation from yesterday's using "Baby, We've Grown" from the Occasions Catalog, this time for a boy!

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_boy_1 - Copy

Circle Card Thinlet Die again, with Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, and Whisper White for my colors. Texture was added with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Folder.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_boy_2 - Copy

On the "flip" side is another stamp from "Baby We've Grown", colored with my Blender Pen and ink from my Soft Sky inkpad. I added another "baby" Envelope Punch Board envelope to insert a gift card.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_boy_1 - Copy (2)

Here's the bunny up close so you could see how I watercolored him with Smoky Slate  ink and my Blender Pen. I added some darker lines of Smoky Slate along the edges to give him some shadows. Even though I am not very experienced at watercolor, this stamp made adding the shading easy!

I stamped the bow tie area of the bunny on a bit of Soft Sky Designer Paper, then fussy-cut with Paper Snips. I laid the bow tie on my Silicone Craft Mat before adding a bit of SNAIL to it. The SNAIL stuck just to the paper but not to the mat or anything else! yay!

The "cute boy" words from the little boy shoes in the set. I used a Basic Gray Stampin' Write marker to only ink the words before stamping on Soft Sky carstock. One of the punches from the Little Labels Punch Pack punched it out perfectly!

That's all for now. I've been working on several fun new projects you will be seeing soon.Tomorrow is my final "Baby We've Grown" card for now, this time with the little owl family stamp, so come back to see me on Wednesday!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day for Debbie!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day for Debbie!

Today (Saturday) I had the pleasure to introduce my dear sister-in-law, Debbie, to Stampin' Up! Debbie & I have been married to brothers for over 30 years, we were pregnant with our first three babies almost at the same times, and we have considered  each other our "partners in crime" for most of that time!

This weekend Debbie came up for a visit from her home in Franklin, TN, and went to a Stamp-a-Stack workshop with me. Deb has been watching me with my Stampin' Up! business for the past almost 11 years, but had never had a chance to actually stamp. She got to stamp today, ALOT! – 10 cards to be exact, and she loved it! She especially fell in love with the happy little snowman from the Snow Day stamp set. When we got home we designed this for her to make a stack of winter notecards:

Snow day for debbie

We pulled some elements from a few other Snow Day cards I had for her to see, then designed this simple card that is not really Christmas, but is more winter than anything else. The card base is Smoky Slate, layered with Whisper White and Winter Frost Designer Paper. Another layer of Smokey Slate, followed by the Whisper White layer for the snowman image stamped in Pool Party. We "stamped off" the ink on the snowflake stamp once on the grid sheet before stamping each snowflake. His smiley face and arms are Jet Black StazOn, his nose is Tangerine Tango, and his scarf and heart are Real Red. We are leaving the inside blank so she can use it all fall winter as a notecard for whatever occasion or reason she needs.

I really enjoyed sharing my love of stamping with her today! Sharing what I love is definitely one of my passions. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Don't forget, there's only TWO days left to purchas the $25 Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit! FIVE new demonstrators have already joined the first level of my team of Yes Mam! Stampers!, will you be next? Let me know if you need any help!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry!

Good Monday morning to you! Hope you had a good weekend! I had a fun class on Saturday! Lots of lovely ladies here to stamp, which I love!

I actually had TWO classes happening at the same time that day; my monthly WOW (Simply WOW) Class and my monthly Christmas Card Class. It's exhausting, but TONS of fun!

Today's card is a CASE (with my own tweaks of course!) of a card by Kirsteen Gill using the Festive Flurry Bundle from the Hoiday Catalog:

Festive flurry 1

Kirsteen's was bling-less, but I added the Rhinestones, and used the cut-out piece from the center of the snowflake to stamp the greeting.

I used Smoky Slate for the card base. I love that we now have a light gray color again. I love our Brushed Silver & Gold cardstocks, but they are a bit pricey to use as a card base. Smoky Slate is a perfect silvery-gray color that can ecomonically used as the card base when the illusion of shine is needed.

I used Shimmery White for the top layer and the snowflake cut-outs. It's just the perfect weight and shine for the snowflakes on this card!

To make this card quick & easy, we used pieces of Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper inside the cut-out opening. Accented with Basic Jewel Rhinestones and stamped with a Petite Pairs greeting, this card is an easy WOW!

Festive flurry 2

Inside is also quick and easy: Smoky Slate-stamped Festive Flurry snowflakes and the corresponding phrase from Petite Pairs stamped in Island Indigo!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
