Stampin’ Up! Best of Retiring Part 1!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Retiring Part 1!

Hey there! With just a couple of weeks left (19 days!) before the Retiring List expires, I thought now might be a good time to review some of my favorites of this past Stampin' Up! catalog year. All of the projects I will be posting today and for the next few days use retiring stamps and accessories that are still available in my online store.

PLEASE NOTE: STAMPS are guaranteed available up until May 22nd. After that date they will only be available while the current supply for that set lasts.

ACCESSORIES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST NOW, SO ORDER SOON! LIKE TODAY!

I'm starting with cards posted in May 2016. You can still use the links in the supply lists to find the items in my online store.

First, a card created with Love & Affection stamps and Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (which is 30% off on the Retiring List!)

I created another Birthday Fiesta card, also using retiring Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.

I used the bleach stamping technique with Picture Perfect to create my husband's Father's Day card.

Finally for today, I used the Color Blocking technique with the retiring sets Wetland and Kinda Eclectic.

I can hardly believe it's been almost a year since I created this card! View the whole post HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop May Edition, Masculine May!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! Our theme is "Masculine May"!

970616_10152216696390070_1901389811_n

For my manly creation I used the Hardwood Background, Traveler, Timeless Textures, Friendly Wishes, and Happy Happenings. ALL are carrying over to the new catalog! yay!

Stampin_up_traveler_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used three of the 6 vintage images from Traveler, and used a color palette of Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla.

Stampin_up_traveler_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I used the new Annual Catalog Layering Squares Framelits to cut all of the layers around the train, globe, and steamship. These framelits, along with new Circles, Ovals, and Hearts, are going to be must-haves when the new catalog premieres on June 1st!

Stampin_up_traveler_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I stamped "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" from Happy Happenings with Early Espresso, then stamped over with stamped-off Crumb Cake using the cross-hatch stamp in Timeless Textures. I cut the banner around it with the banner die from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets.

Stampin_up_traveler_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

I used the cross-hatch background for all of the vintage images.

Stampin_up_traveler_carolpaynestamps5 - Copy

Inside I went a little crazy with cross-hatch stamping, but it made a great background for the sentiment from Friendly Wishes!

Stampin’ Up! Traveler for Cohen!

Stampin’ Up! Traveler for Cohen!

Hey there! Today I have a special card created for my grandson, Cohen's, 8th birthday! Cohen is Titanic crazy, so I used Traveler stamps and  World Traveler folder to create his card:

Stampin_up_traveler_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I used the Center Step Card fold, stamping on the negative side of the World Traveler folder before embossing with the Big Shot.

Stampin_up_traveler_2_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I punched the Suite Sayings greeting with the Washi Label Punch, matting it with a couple more Washi Label Punches!

Stampin_up_traveler_3_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I rubbed the Smoky Slate Thick Baker's Twine on the Night of Navy inkpad to tie under and over the Silver Basic Metal Button.

Stampin_up_traveler_4_carolpaynestamps - Copy

The back side of the card I used a sentiment from All Boxed Up with the compass from Going Global.

Stampin_up_traveler_5_carolpaynestamps - Copy

This card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2", so I made a custom envelope with the Envelope Punch Board and Typeset Designer Paper. This card took a just a little more postage to mail as non-machineable, 93 cents, but it's worth it to surprise Co!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Kind of Masculine!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Kind of Masculine!

Hey there! It's Sunday, which means it's time for swaps! yay! Today I'm catching up on some really nice masculine swaps that have been neglected in favor of Sale-a-bration and Valentine samples.

First, Jeanine Bush created this little cutie with the Zoo Babies and Gorgeous Grunge sets. She added Gold Metallic Thread for a bit of glitz!

Stampin_up_zoo_babies_1
Next, Rhonda Bassler used the wonderfully masculine set, Going Global, with the World Traveler Textured Impressions folder for her creation:

Stampin_up_going_global_1

Dena Tarkowski used Wilderness Awaits for her fun-fold  birthday card:

Stampin_up_wilderness_awaits_1

This card has a few surprises:

Stampin_up_wilderness_awaits_2

Pretty neat!

Stampin_up_wilderness_awaits_3

Sharon Tong-Robinson used Amazing Birthday with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions folder and Lots of Labels framelits for her unusual fun-fold:

Stampin_up_amazing_birthday_1

It stands and folds at the same time!

Stampin_up_amazing_birthday_2

Finally, Ann  Betty turned her Corner-fold card a little differently to create a striking masculine creation with the Traveler stamp set and Go Wild Designer Paper:

Stampin_up_traveler_1

She used the bold "happy birthday" from Watercolor Words for the inside:

Stampin’ Up! Traveler for Tony’s Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Traveler for Tony’s Birthday!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing with you the card I made for my son-in-law Tony's birthday. I took the layout and mechanics of the card I made for Maddie Kate (see her card here) and flipped it around to create this with the Traveler and World Map stamps:

Stampin_up_traveler_4 - Copy

I used Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla for my color palette.

Stampin_up_traveler_3 - Copy

Guy Greetings for the sentiments, and a Silver Basic Metal Button tied with a bit of Linen Thread for my only embellishment:

Stampin_up_traveler_5 - Copy

The 1/4" Early Espresso Cotton Ribbon I used for the "pull" is on sale right now as part of the Weekly Deals!

Stampin_up_traveler_6 - Copy

After wrapping the gift with the Festive Kraft wrapping paper (be sure to find it on the Clearance Rack), adding the card to the top of the package made a ribbon unnecessary.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is a really busy day. First thing this morning I am helping with the babies in the nursery, then right after church is over we are throwing a bridal shower for a good friend of our family. As soon as we clean up from the shower it will be time for the evening service. Whew! I’m tired already! I am in charge of the shower decorations, and I am really happy with what I came up with to go with the bride’s wedding theme of Teal, Red, Burlap, and Pearls. I hope to have some pics to share with you tomorrow!

But even with all the busyness, it’s still Sunday Swap Day, so here we go!

Today’s swaps have a decidedly masculine feel.

This swap created by pairing The Open Sea with the World Map background is simple but packs a lot of visual interest. Unfortunately, the creators’ name has been separated from the creation.

Stampin_up_open_sea

Second, Mary Waring achieved a stunning rendition of World Map by coloring the  “map” with Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. She used the suitcase from the Traveler set and a phrase from Really Good Greetings.

Stampin_up_world_map

Third, Becky NIchols combined the Hardwood background with the Moon Lake set. I really like how she used the Window Frames Framelits Dies to cut out and mat the bird image, then used one of the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting!

Stampin_up_moon_lake

Finally, Ruth Anne Lilley also used Hardwood and Moon Lake, but used the swish stamp from Work of Art to easily add color to the tree and boat image!

Stampin_up_work_of_art

That’s all for now. I must get ready for this busy day!

Here’s the link to my online store to order your supplies to make your own version of these cards:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

You will receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me no matter how small or large your order is!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
