Stampin’ Up! Best of Retiring Part 1!

Hey there! With just a couple of weeks left (19 days!) before the Retiring List expires, I thought now might be a good time to review some of my favorites of this past Stampin' Up! catalog year. All of the projects I will be posting today and for the next few days use retiring stamps and accessories that are still available in my online store.

PLEASE NOTE: STAMPS are guaranteed available up until May 22nd. After that date they will only be available while the current supply for that set lasts.

ACCESSORIES ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST NOW, SO ORDER SOON! LIKE TODAY!

I'm starting with cards posted in May 2016. You can still use the links in the supply lists to find the items in my online store.

First, a card created with Love & Affection stamps and Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (which is 30% off on the Retiring List!)

I created another Birthday Fiesta card, also using retiring Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.

I used the bleach stamping technique with Picture Perfect to create my husband's Father's Day card.

Finally for today, I used the Color Blocking technique with the retiring sets Wetland and Kinda Eclectic.

I can hardly believe it's been almost a year since I created this card! View the whole post HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Colorblocked Wetlands!

Stampin’ Up! Colorblocked Wetlands!

Hey there! Colorblocking is a fun technique! I created a sunset!

Stampin_up_kinda_eclectic_colorblock_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Starting with a Calypso Coral base, I layered on Peekaboo Peach. For the colorblocking, I started with Calypso Coral, then Peekaboo Peach and So Saffron. I stamped the Kinda Eclectic sunburst with Versamark before adding Pool Party and Tip Top Taupe.

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I stamped the birdies before I embossed with the Seaside folder.

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I stamped "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" with Thoughtful Banners (pg 73) and Basic Gray Archival ink. I punched with the Classic Label Punch.

Inside a phrase from Suite Sayings:

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

My next creation was heat embossed with Copper powder!

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_copper_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I sponged the edges with Tip Top Taupe for more depth.

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_copper_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Again, all stamping and heat-embossing MUST be done BEFORE  dry embossing with the Big Shot!

Stampin_up_wetlands_colorblocking_copper_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Another sentiment from Suite Sayings:

Island Indigo is the card base here  and the only sentiment from Kinda Eclectic:

I added a single So Saffron star from the Regals Enamel Shapes to the Banner Triple punched greeting.

Stampin’ Up! Serene Scenery Wetlands!

Stampin’ Up! Serene Scenery Wetlands!

Hey there! I do a lot of blog-hopping, Pinterest-searching, and Facebook-looking sometimes, which can be a time-sucker. But I often find great inspiration, like this idea to use Serene Scenery Designer Paper with the Wetlands birdies! Here's my version:

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used a Tip Top Taupe card base, adding Soft Sky with Serene Scenery on the left. I stamped sea grass and shore birds with Basic Gray ink BEFORE  embossing with the Seaside Textured Impressions Folder. All stamping must be done BEFORE texture is added!

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps8 - Copy

Wetlands is not new, but I use it when I need a calming card. Linen Thread blends with these soothing colors. I LOVE that the birdie stamp includes their reflections!

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Suite Sayings inside:

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

After my bleach obsession ended,  I've now become intrigued with color blocking!

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Crumb Cake at the bottom, followed by strips of Tip Top Taupe, Soft Sky, Pool Party, and Island Indigo, adhered to a 3 3/4" x 5" layer of Whisper White. After stamping the birds, embossing  with the Seaside folder and lightly sponging with  Tip Top Taupe, I adhered to Tip Top Taupe then to an Island Indigo card base.

Stampin_up_wetlands_carolpaynestamps6 - Copy

I stamped the greeting on a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of Soft Sky, punched with the Banner Triple Punch, sponged with Tip Top Taupe, wrapping Linen Thread 6 times before tying in a knot.

Stampin’ Up! Wetlands Meets Adventure Bound!

Stampin’ Up! Wetlands Meets Adventure Bound!

Hey there! How are you doing today? Things have calmed down around here after all excitement yesterday, and I had a little time to create! My hostess for tonight has requested a card using the Wetlands stamp set, so I put my thinking cap on.

I decided to use a bit of retiring Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for my card base, then layered on a piece of Adventure Bound Designer Paper from the stack in the Occasions Catalog. I cut a window with one of the soon-retiring Window Frames Framelits dies, then added a Baked Brown Sugar frame cut with the same die and the next-larger die from the same set.

Stampin_up_wetlands_1

I stamped a layer of Very Vanilla with the little shore birdies from the Wetlands set. My hostess had also admired a technique on a swap I had on my display board that used the swish stamp from the Work of Art stamp set, so I used that stamp to add the background colors behind the birdies. I stamped all of my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored the shore grass with my Blender Pen using Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand ink from the lid of the pad.

Stampin_up_wetlands_3

Inside I used the cut-out from the Adventure Bound layer on the front, then stamped the sentiment from Yippee Skippee! (which is retiring) and cut it out with the next-to-smallest Window Frames Framelit.

Stampin_up_wetlands_2

A bit more stamping with the Work of Art "swish", the birdies and the grass finish off the inside. I kept the stamping of the grass and the birdies on the envelope simple by using just the Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Tape and Wetlands!

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Tape and Wetlands!

Hey there! Liam's birthday party was last night with yummy food, good friends & family, fun presents for the birthday boy, cousins to play with, and an Oreo Blizzard ice cream cake! Perfect!

I mentioned Liam's card yesterday but I'm not sharing just yet. Today I'm working on Ava's card for her party on Monday. I will be sharing these soon.

On today's card we used the Painter's Tape Technique with the little shorebirdies  from Wetlands:

Stampin_up_wetlands_1 - Copy

I bought the Wetlands set because I love these little shorebirdies! They are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink after I used painter's tape to add the Night of Navy, Pool Party, and Crumb Cake ink to the Whisper White layer. I added the seagrass with Pear Pizzazz and the "Thinking of You" from Wetland with the Memento ink. The card seemed a little bit "flat", but after I added a single Crumb Cake Candy Dot, it all came together.

Stampin_up_wetlands_2 - Copy

Inside I used the same technique and same colors of ink but with a phrase from Thoughts and Prayers.

That's all for now. Here's the shopping list for today's card. Everything (except the painter's tape) can be ordered in my Online Store:

Come back to see me tomorrow for Sunday Swap Day! Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! As promised, I have swaps to share today! Let's get started:

Stampin_up_tap_tap_tap

First, a brand-new set called Tap, Tap, Tap. The Hardwood background was stamped on all five cardstock strips to give it a "paneling" look.

Stampin_up_wetlands_1

Next, color was sponged on the background, the Wetlands goose was stamped, then framed with "Polaroid" mat cut with the On Frame framelit dies.

Stampin_up_lovely_as_a_tree

Lastly, the oldie-but-goodie set, Lovely As a Tree was given a fresh look with the "split negative" technique. DID YOU KNOW? Lovely As a Tree has been in the Stampin' Up! catalog for over TWELVE years? It is the longest-sold stamp set ever! I've been a demo for 11 years, but it has been with Stampin' Up! longer than I have! This card combines Lovely As a Tree, Hardwood Background, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, and a bit of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape. Perfect!

That's all for now. Enjoy your Sunday! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
