Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! How are you this bright and shiny Sunday? At least it is bright and shiny where I am today; I hope it is for you too!

Today I have aother collection of cards created by the swap group I participate in:

First a masculine Moon Lake card with an interesting fold from Susie Wood:

Stampin_up_moon_lake_1
Susie created the water for this loon by using the "swish" stamp from Work of Art with Soft Sky ink.

Here's a side view of the fancy fold:

Next, Ann Betty combined the Feel Goods set with Lullaby Designer Paper for her creation:

Cindy Dewrtz used From the Garden with the Handpicked Framelit dies:

Sweet Dreams Designer Paper is the perfect cheery background:

Karen Kurz tackled this "marquee" card with the Snapshot single stamp (retiring), Age Awareness, and Hip Notes set (also retiring):

It looks pretty ordinary until you start to open it:

The more you open it the more the center opens up:

I've never made one of these cards, but I'm thinking one might be in my future. You will get to see it if I do! I've already started the "reverse-engineering" process as my son calls it! lol!

Finally, Brenda Hukriede used the Flower Patch set and her Envelope Punch board to create this card with the envelope built right in!

Stampin_up_flower_patch_1

The envelope created with Flower Pot Designer Paper (retiring) opens up to reveal a riot of gorgeous flowers:

The current Stampin' Up! catalog expires on June 2nd. After that date you will no longer be able to order anything on the retiring lists. Right now the stamps are all still available, but after May 25 they will become while supplies last too!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is a really busy day. First thing this morning I am helping with the babies in the nursery, then right after church is over we are throwing a bridal shower for a good friend of our family. As soon as we clean up from the shower it will be time for the evening service. Whew! I’m tired already! I am in charge of the shower decorations, and I am really happy with what I came up with to go with the bride’s wedding theme of Teal, Red, Burlap, and Pearls. I hope to have some pics to share with you tomorrow!

But even with all the busyness, it’s still Sunday Swap Day, so here we go!

Today’s swaps have a decidedly masculine feel.

This swap created by pairing The Open Sea with the World Map background is simple but packs a lot of visual interest. Unfortunately, the creators’ name has been separated from the creation.

Stampin_up_open_sea

Second, Mary Waring achieved a stunning rendition of World Map by coloring the  “map” with Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. She used the suitcase from the Traveler set and a phrase from Really Good Greetings.

Stampin_up_world_map

Third, Becky NIchols combined the Hardwood background with the Moon Lake set. I really like how she used the Window Frames Framelits Dies to cut out and mat the bird image, then used one of the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting!

Stampin_up_moon_lake

Finally, Ruth Anne Lilley also used Hardwood and Moon Lake, but used the swish stamp from Work of Art to easily add color to the tree and boat image!

Stampin_up_work_of_art

That’s all for now. I must get ready for this busy day!

Here’s the link to my online store to order your supplies to make your own version of these cards:

You will receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me no matter how small or large your order is!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Moon Lake!

Stampin’ Up! Moon Lake!

Hey there! This week has been my week to stamp! I ran some errands on Monday, but ever since I've stayed home and stamped, stamped, stamped! It seems like it's always either a feast or a famine!

My card for today is a CASE of a swap I received from my swap guru, Carol Nordquist. Carol is the lovely lady in Minnesota that I mail my 21 identical swaps to every month, then receive 20 different swaps back about a week later. As the swap guru, Carol gets to keep one of each as her "reward" for organizing the swap, sorting them into everyone's mailer, then taking them back to the P.O. Only occasionally does she swap too, but when she does it's always gorgeousl! Today's card is no exception:

Stampin_up_moonlake_1 - Copy

Carol used the Occasions Catalog set, Moon Lake. It's gorgeous detail and inspiring phrases make this set versatile as an all-occasion, and even a masculine set. One of the really fine features of this card is that it needed NOTHING more than stamps, ink, paper, adhesive, and three embossing folders! NO additional embellishments!

It's an easy card to make and an economical one to mail.

Stampin_up_moonlake_2 - Copy

The only sentiment added was the "to a great FRIEND" from the Sale-a-bration set, Simply Wonderful. I'm finding I'm using this set A LOT right now, but I need to because after March 31st it will be gone!

Stampin_up_moonlake_5 - CopyCarol's card was originally colored with Blendability alcohol markers, but because Stampin' Up! has had to suspend the sale all the Blendabilities due to quality issues, I switched to sponging and markers.

One touch I DID NOT change was Carol's use of the just  a itty bit of the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder on the water portion of the goose image. It really adds to the "ripple effect"!

That's all for now. Here's the supply list for this card, which we will be making at a couple of workshops this month. Use this shopping list to help you place your order in my online store: ww.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/
