Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

Hey there!I don't think I've told you about our kitten supply this year, but we seem to have a bumper crop!  Out of four female cats (all outdoors farm cats) we knew of  two litters of 5 each, but we didn't know what happened to the other two mommies' babies. Saturday Logan went to get a haircut and brought home a kitten, which was promptly adopted by the mommy with the oldest litter. Then Sunday we found three more kittens! We think we know which mommy they belong to, but we haven't seen her since Sunday morning. We are now feeding canned cat food and keeping them in a box overnight. The one mommy who adopted the extra kitten was trying to take care of them too, for a total of 9 kittens! If you need a "kitten fix", come on over!

On the stamping front, my card pictures are a little dark. By the time we got the three new kittens and the one Logan brought home fed and safely in a box in the laundry room, it was almost too dark for natural light. I used my flash to take these pictures of the card I created with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps1

I started with an Old Olive card base with a layer of Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper. I punched out the balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch, mounting them on a Stitched Shapes Framelits square with a dimensional. I framed the white square with a square cut with a Layering Squares Framelit.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps2

I highlighted "IT'S YOUR DAY!" with a couple of Soft Sky Enamel Shapes.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps3

All of the images I used on the inside are from Happy Birthday Gorgeous too!

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps4

It's an easy card, not flashy, perfect for a kid's birthday party.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous and Birthday Memories Designer Paper will be available to order June 1st.

Until then, you probably should check out the Retiring List and the Clearance Rack in my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

Stampin’ Up! Party Wishes Pocket Card!

Stampin’ Up! Party Wishes Pocket Card!

Hey there! Today many of you will be receiving my email newsletter containing info about my #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp-a-stack, so I wanted to show you one of the cards we will be making that I am VERY EXCITED about!

Stampin_up_party_wishes_carolpaynestamps_1 - Copy

It's a pocket card with BIRTHDAY CAKE GUM! How stinkin' cute!

Stampin_up_party_wishes_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

I saw a card somewhere with a pack of the gum on the front, which inspired me to FIND the gum (it's at Target check-out lines) and then create my own design!

Stampin_up_party_wishes_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

I wanted to use my Party Wishes set, and then pulled out Color Me Irresistible Designer Series Paper to color Wisteria Wonder with my brayer.

Stampin_up_party_wishes_carolpaynestamps_4 - Copy

It's hard to see in the picture, but after I colored the cupcake with Pink Pirouette ink, I colored the bottom with my Early Espresso marker directly on top of the pink ink. I did the same with the cake stand. I also used my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the cupcake frosting.

I'll publish the class handout after classes are over next weekend, April 1 & 2. Here's the supply list to order everything you need from my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Chalkboard!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Chalkboard!

Hey there! This morning I'm on my way to help my photographer daughter's house to get her tax nfo ready for her tax lady. We do this once a year, and it takes all day, but it's one of the rare days of the year we get to spend the whole day together so I love it!

Today I"m sharing another card created for my #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp-a-stack but didn't make the cut. I used the chalkboard technique with Birthday Blooms stamps and Timeless Elegance Designer Paper:
Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base, a layer of Basic Gray, then a layer of  Timeless Elegance Designer Paper softly sponged with Soft Sky ink using a Sponge Dauber.

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_2_carolpaynestamps - Copy

The reason this card didn't make "the cut" for my class is probably obvious. After I heat-embossed the blooms on Basic Black with white powder, I gently sponged the blooms only with White Craft ink for the "chalkboard" look. I "fancy cut" with my Paper Snips (aka fussy cut) the blooms.

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_3_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I layered Venetian Crochet Trim over Basic Black 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, and added a white-heat-embossed greeting from Birthday Blooms punched with the Washi Label Punch.

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_4_carolpaynestamps - Copy

Inside I punched the Very Vanilla corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and stamped the bloom again with Soft Sky ink.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bouquet Banners!

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bouquet Banners!

Hey there! My bout with sickness put me waaaaay behind this week, but I've learned to expect the unexpected and just go with what I'm given. I'm working away at it even though I know I can't get everything done or the way I wanted it.

Today I have two cards, both made with Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Birthday Blooms stamps:

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_bouquet_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

They are very similar, but up close you can see the subtle differences.

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_bouquet_2_carolpaynestamps - Copy

The layout, colors, sentiment, designer paper, and ribbon are the same, but this one is simpler with the Silver 5/8" Satin bow low on the front:

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_bouquet_6_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I made the flat card first, heat-embossing the greeting with white powder before deciding it needed a bit of texture. After white-heat embossing the greeting and adding the Banner Triple-punched paper strips with SNAIL, I embossed the Pool Party/designer paper layer with the Decorative Dots folder:

Stampin_up_birthday_blooms_bouquet_3_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I also raised the ribbon bow near the top . Which one do you like best?

Stampin_up_ birthday_blooms_bouquet_7_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I did the inside similar but different as well. Here's the inside of the flat-front card:

And the textured card inside:

Stampin’ Up! Number of Years Zoo Babies Birthday Card!

Hey there. Today I'm sharing a card I originally created for my #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp-a-stack but it didn't make the cut:

Stampin_up_number_of_years_zoo_babies_1_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I combined Number of Years stamps and framelit bundle with the Zoo Babies and Party Pants sets. Here's the reason this card didn't make the cut. I'm terrible at hand-drawing   balloon strings!

Stampin_up_number_of_years_zoo_babies_7_carolpaynestamps - Copy

This was the better of TWO separate attempts to draw realistic-looking balloon strings.  After throwing two card fronts in the trash, I switched to Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine for the balloon strings. Success!

Stampin_up_number_of_years_zoo_babies_2_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I added phrases from the Sale-a-bration Party Pants set, and punched a clear Metallics Glitter Washi Tape/Lost Lagoon balloon with the tiny balloon punch from the Party Punch Pack.

Stampin_up_number_of_years_zoo_babies_3_carolpaynestamps - Copy

I used the color combo of Sahara Sand, Lost Lagoon, and Whisper White.

The Party Pants set includes a balloon string stamp, which is the only reason I was able to add them to the inside! lol!

Stampin’ Up! Apple of My Eye Baby Wipe Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Apple of My Eye Baby Wipe Technique!

Hey there! When I was playing with the Apple of My Eye and That Thing You Did stamp sets, I decided to try the baby wipe technique with the citrus stamp:

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_1 - Copy

If you aren't familiar with the baby wipe technique, here's a quick little description:

  1. Fold a baby wipe into an ink pad shape on a non-porous surface, like a disposable plastic plate. (I use an inexpensive baby wipe that doesn't have much of a design embossed on it)
  2. Using an ink pad reinker, put drops of ink directly on the baby wipe. For my card today I started with drops of Daffodil Delight. I spaced the drops apart so as they reacted with the moisture in the baby wipe they would bleed toward each other.
  3. Add drops of other colors in between and around the first ink drops, allowing the colors to bleed into each other. For my card I used Tangerine Tango for my second color.
  4. Use this "custom" inkpad to ink your stamp.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

I used my Circles Collection Framelits to cut the citus shapes. I hand-cut the banner ends with my Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

Sentiments from That Thing You Did and a Gold Glimmer star punched with an Itty Bitty Accents Punch  are the finishing touches!

This card easily fits into a Medium Whisper White envelope!
