Stampin’ Up! Epic Celebrations for Sale-a-bration!

Stampin’ Up! Epic Celebrations for Sale-a-bration!

Hey there! The card I want to share with you today uses another set from the Sale-a-bration brochure, Epic Celebrations.  I combined it with the Hardwood Background and the "flex fold" technique to create this:

Stampin_up_hardwood_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps1

You can faintly see the tennis shoes stamped over the Hardwood with stamped-off Crumb Cake.

I stamped the "you're awesome". also from Epic Celebrations, repeatedly on the Very Vanilla strip with stamped-off Crumb Cake, then added the splotches with full-strength Crumb Cake. The tennis shoes and headphones are stamped with Basic Black.

Stampin_up_hardwood_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps3

I punched the Basic Black-stamped "here's to an epic celebration" with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch, then backed it with a Basic Black 1 3/8" Scallop Circle.

Stampin_up_hardwood_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I repeated the Hardwood, splotches, and tennis shoes with Crumb Cake, followed by Stylized Birthday stamped with Basic Black.

Stampin_up_hardwood_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps5

The Flex-fold fun fold measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8" along the 8 1/2" side. The Crumb Cake front layer is 4" x 5 1/4", matching the Crumb Cake inside layer. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the front layer just to the narrow fold of the Basic Black card front.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Thursday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Thursday!

Hey there! So sorry for the late post. Last night when I was ready to start my post Typepad was completely down (something about a "TLC handshake" failing) so I just closed my computer and went to bed. I'm still working on recovering from the "choking crud", as one of my daughter's called it, without getting a sinus infection. So far, so good.

I also have a little problem with the most recent pictures I've taken of my most recent creations. If you remember, I've been having problems with my camera, ever since my grandkids got a hold of it during Christmas. I've been trying different settings to get it back to normal. It seemed like  a good idea to change a setting to "vivid"to correct the yellowness of my previous pics. In reality, "vivid" makes everything fluorescent! Greens, pinks, yellows, they all hurt your eyes with their "vividness"! I need to set up and take new pics with a better setting (I think I've got it figured out now).

So to be able to move forward with my day and with my blog post I'm sharing another set of cute swaps! I will be re-taking the pictures of my creations (and some more swaps) today so things should be back to normal tomorrow! lol!

First, an adorable folding baby card by Carol Slack! Carol used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper with the A Little Wild Bundle. Sooooo cute!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the bear she cut him out with a Little Loves Framelits die. I love the little bee! You can't see in the pic but there's a touch of Clear Wink of Stella on the bee's wings!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps2

Another sweet touch is the tiny pearl she added to the flower center:

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps3

Fully opened reveals her use of the Sweetheart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, sponging around the heart with Blushing Bride ink!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps4

Next, Ruth Bingle colored the bloom from Remarkable You with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Markers for a vibrant look! Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Basic Black combine for an elegant look!

Stampin_up_remarkable_you_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Cindy Ewertz' creation with This Little Piggy! I love the Soft Sky paired with Whisper White and Smoky Slate for her color palette as a background for the Piggy colored with Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends. The Petal Garden Designer Series Paper she used for the inside strip makes a gentle contrast to the Smoky Slate-stamped Hardwood background stamped on the front.

Gorgeous!

Stampin’ Up! Hardwood Watercolor Bokeh!

Stampin’ Up! Hardwood Watercolor Bokeh!

Hey there! I voted today,  and this is the first time ever I have cried and prayed in the voting booth, but  God is good all the time!

I've been playing around with the Bokeh technqiue a bit lately:

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps1

Hardwood background stamped with Early Espresso on Crumb Cake, layered on an Early Espresso card base. A Watercolor Words greeting.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps2

Starting with watercolor paper,I stamped a Vintage Leaves leaf with Early Espresso, heat-embossed the greeting with white powder. Spritz the whole piece lightly with water. Used my AquaPainter to apply full-strength Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight reinker in random splotches. Dried with a Heat Tool. I laid a template punched with circle punches of varying sizes to sponge Whisper White Craft ink for the Bokeh look. Removed the template, added a few more random sponge dauber circles.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps3

I heat-set the ink before layering on an Early Espresso mat.

Stampin_up_watercolor_words_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I used another sentiment from Watercolor Words and stamped the same Vintage Leaves leaf with Daffodil Delight ink. I used a splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to add the Cajun Craze scatter of ink.

The bokeh technique is so much fun, you will probably want to try it! Find and order your supplies from my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop Thankfulness!

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop Thankfulness!

GV Blog Header

Hey there!  Welcome to the Mediterranean Achiever's Blog Hop! This month's theme is Thankfulness!

Edited 9/28/16: If you came here yesterday evening or earlier today, my post was unfinished (with NO PHOTOS!) My computer went on the fritz before I could complete my post. It  took my son almost ALL DAY to get it up and running again! SO SORRY!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at Carol Payne Stamps, or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Carol Payne.

For my thankful project I combined Paisley & Posies  with  Hardwood Background and Swirly Scribbles Thinlets:

Stampin_up_hardwood_paisleys_posies_carolpaynestamps7

I stamped Crumb Cake  with Hardwood with Crumb Cake ink.  I cut Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper with a Swirly Scribbles Thinlet to create my "pumpkin". The leaves are cut with Swirly Scribbles.

Stampin_up_hardwood_paisleys_posies_carolpaynestamps8

I punched one end of  7/8" x 3" Very Vanilla with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, then stamped "THANKFUL * GRATEFUL BLESSED"  from Paisleys & Posies. Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim and Halloween Night Baker's Twine add finishing touches.

Stampin_up_hardwood_paisleys_posies_carolpaynestamps9

Inside I used Happy Happenings sentiments. I cut the smaller pumpkin from the Pumpkin Pie Glimmer that was removed when I cut the large pumpkin for the front. I gently peeled the plastic backing off the glimmer paper before cutting it with the thinlets.

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog – Carol Payne, so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! This weekend was super-busy with Trick-or-Treaters on Friday, a Vendor Fair on Saturday, and a family gathering on Sunday. No time to think or blog!

I have one last set of fall swaps to share today!

First, Rose Marie Coleman used Vintage Leaves, Hardwood Background, and a greeting from For All Things for her creation:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_1

Next, Kristin Kortonick also used Vintage leaves and the Hardwood Background, but by choosing Sahara Sand and Whisper White she achieved a completely different look!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_2

Kristin also added the Watercolor Wash background on the Sahara Sand layer to give it a little more color and a textured look. She cut the leaves with the Leaflets Framelits. I love her touches of adding a vellum leaf, pearls, and Silver Thread!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_3

Patty Chenail also used Vintage Leaves and For All Things sets, choosing to use the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for her background:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_4

Finally, Linda Pagel used  the Acorny Thank You set with the matching Acorn Builder Punch for her swap. The Large Polka-Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is the perfect background for all of the little polka-dots on the Designer Series Paper, Decorative Dots-embossed white circle, and the top of the acorn!

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you

Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Hey there! The first day of convention was yesterday and the highlight of the morning was the unveiling of the new Holiday Catalog. Oh. My. Goodness. There are no words to explain how fantastically mind-boggling it is. You are going to LOVE  it!

Until I can show it to you, however, you will have to be content with another Christmas in July Class card, this time with the non-Christmas set, An Open Heart. This card was a favorite of many stampers:

Stampin_up_open_heart_1 - Copy

I used the Hardwood background on the stamped layer first. I "stamped off" the Tip Top Taupe ink on scrap paper before stamping on the Crumb Cake card stock, then I stamped the berry branch with Mossy Meadow ink.

Stampin_up_open_heart_3 - Copy

I colored the berries with a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler ink just so I could get a little more subtle color than I would if I used a marker. I followed the coloring with just a bit of clear Dazzling Details for a frosted look.

The linen thread is tied in a bow and then added with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_open_heart_2 - Copy

I stamped the Christmas phrases from Petite Pairs on the front and inside with Cherry Cobbler ink. I also breathed on the remaining ink on the hardwood and the branch before stamping again on the inside layer.

For the complete supply list, check out the info below, then place your order in my online store: carolpayne.stampinup.net
