Stampin’ Up! Fresh Freesia Nature’s Harvest!

Stampin’ Up! Fresh Freesia Nature’s Harvest!

Hey there! Today's card is sooo pretty! I found a layout I loved and adapted it to use with the Nature's Harvest and Dragonfly Garden stamp sets!

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

I created my own "designer paper" by heat embossing the flower spray with clear powder on a 1" x 5 1/4" strip of Basic White, then using a Blending Brush to apply  Fresh Freesia ink over it. The clear embossing resists the ink, creating this pretty look!

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped the cone flowers with Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Fresh Freesia and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the centers of the flowers to add some shimmer.

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps3

I colored a strip of Fresh Freesia card stock with a Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blend to get a darker version to put behind the circle with the cone flowers. I heat embossed a greeting from Dragonfly Garden on a 1/2" strip of Fresh Freesia, then cut one end into banner points with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps4

I tied the ribbon in a bow and then added with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps5

On the inside I used the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blend to add a darker edge to a 4" x 5 1/4" Fresh Freesia layer, then added the 3 3/4" x 5" white sentiment layer.

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps10

I stamped the inside with another Dragonfly Garden sentiment, and added Dragonfly Garden butterflies/dragonflies with Fresh Freesia ink. I did the emboss resist technique on the envelope flap as well.

Stampin_up_freesia_natures_harvest_carolpaynestamps6

I added a bit of Fresh Freesia ink over the stamped cone flower and added a few more Fresh Freesia butterflies.

Stampin’ Up! The Man, The Myth, The Legend!

Stampin’ Up! The Man, The Myth, The Legend!

The man the myth the legend

Hey there! It's time for the June edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop, THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND.

My card  today was created with  my husband in mind, but was also inspired by a comment one of my Yes Mam! Stampers made about my Tasteful Touches Emboss Resist card I posted HERE. She said it looked like the Milky Way, which inspired me to create a "Milky Way" card for my husband who loves astronomy:

Stampin_up_hippo_happines_carolpaynestamps1

I used two sparkle images from two different stamp sets, Hippo Happiness and Pattern Play, to silver emboss the stars, then sponged white craft ink in a diagonal swath to create the "Milky Way"!

Stampin_up_hippo_happiness_carolpaynestamps4

I used a sentiment from Sailing Home on the front:

Stampin_up_hippo_happiness_carolpaynestamps5

And a sentiment from Many Mates inside.

Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Emboss Resist Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Emboss Resist Birthday!

Hey there! Today I am sharing the second card I created with Dandelion Wishes and Broadway Birthday! This time I used a true Emboss Resist technique with white heat embossing and Sponge Brayers. I like the bolder look of the white embossing powder in contrast with the brayered Real Red and Blueberry Bushel inks!

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps1

After I brayered the colors over the embossed "fireworks", I rubbed over the piece with a kleenex to remove excess ink from the embossing. This helps make the white explosions really pop!

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps2

I also heat embossed the greeting from Broadway Birthday.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps3

These two sentiments are also from Broadway Birthday. I chose to leave the middle white, and I really like it!

This card is actually an easel-fold, but the wind was blowing when I was taking the pics and the ones of it standing as an easel were too blurry! So imagine, if you will, the "Hooray"" as the easel stop.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps4

I used the same emboss-resist technique on the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Spiral Flower Die, Fringe Scissors, and More!

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Spiral Flower Die, Fringe Scissors, and More!

Hey there! Last day of Leadership was today. Sad. But Leadership being over means I will be on my way home on Sunday and start getting ready to share all I have learned with my stampers and my downline! Sweet! I had a fabulous time at Leadership, it's true, but now it's time to go home and put all these great new ideas into practice! I can hardly wait! yay!

Here's more of the pictures I wanted to share with you last night but the hotel internet wouldn't let me upload:

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die

The Demonstrator Resource Center, in addition to the Blendabilities demonstration, also had a girl making tons of these adorable flowers with the Spiral Flower Die. So cute! Depending on how tightly you roll them, how much you let them relax after rolling, and where you adhere them, you can make an endless variety of shapes and sizes of flowers! The one on the right is a sucker treat. You just cut the flower with the die, but then instead of rolling tightly and adhering you just punch a hole in the base of the spiral and insert a sucker on a stick! Key-utte! These would make fun valentine or birthday party favors!

Here's another treat flower, only this time the flower has been adhered together with Secret Garden Framelit-cut leaves and a Pearl Basic Jewel added! The flower and the sentiment from Love You to the Moon have been added to the lollipop package with Glue Dots.

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_2

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_2 More possibilities with the Spiral Flower Die.

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_3

Sponged edges with Crisp Cantaloupe ink and the die will cut felt, (and fabric too!).

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_6

Gold glittered edges . . .

Stampin_up_spiral_flower_die_1

A flowery heart wreath!

Stampin_up_fringe_scissors_flowers

Another style of flower you can create with a new Occasions Catalog product, the Fringe Scissors! At $9.95, these 5-bladed scissors are a great value!

Stampin_up_people_like_you_emboss_resist

Here's a couple of swaps I was able to take pictures of! The People Like You stamp has been clear embossed on Very Vanilla which had already been stamped with the En Francais background. After clear embossing, the creator of this swap (I just took a picture of this one, I don't have the original to be able to give you the creator's name!) then sponged or brayered the Pear Pizzazz and then Marina Mist (I think) ink over the image. Embossed images will resist the ink, allowing you to wipe away the excess ink with a tissue. The technique is called "emboss resist"!  LOVE it!

Stampin_up_petite_petals_beautifully_baroque

Finally, the creator of this swap achieved a lovely vintage look with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Folder, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla cardstock, Victoria Crochet Trim, Petite Petals stamp and Petite Petal punch, Ovals Collection Framelits, Pearls Basic Jewels,******* greeting, and Crumb Cake sponging!

Well, I've got to close for now and go get packed! Our flight takes off at 2:05 tomorrow afternoon!

At one of my workshops this week, Kathy Sikora added her own flair to this card using the Best of Autumn stamp set and the emboss resist technique:

Kathy sikora 1

Kathy didn't stamp her pumpkin scene with Early Espresso before she embossed the Baked Brown Sugar layer with the Woodgrain folder, so she clear embossed it on a scrap of Very Vanilla, cut it out with another leaf from the Autumn Accents Die, and then sponged on her color. I just had to take a picture of it!
