Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail Meets Awesomely Artistic!

Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail Meets Awesomely Artistic!

Hey there! I'm getting REALLY close to finishing all of the projects for the Birthday Card Buffet next weekend! Today's card is another from the pile:

Stampin_up_swallowtail_1 - Copy

I combined the Swallowtail background with Awesomely Artistic!

The Soft Suede card base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

The Very Vanilla card body is 4 1/8" x 10 3/4", scored at 5 3/8".

My ink colors are Pool Party and Soft Suede.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_2 - Copy

Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine coordinates beautifully with the Pool Party-stamped Swallowtail. Sponging with Soft Suede and stamped-off water splotches lends a vintage feel.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_3 - Copy

Inside I used a phrase from Banner Blessings and a "happy birthday" from And Many More along with Awesomely Artistic.

This card is a mix of red-rubber wood-mounted stamps and photopolymer. You can barely tell that I re-stamped the "FRIEND . . ." phrase twice. Only with close-up inspection can you see a slight blur on the Proverbs 17:17 reference. Because it is photopolymer you can re-stamp if you need to!

Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Hey there! This afternoon I have a class at the Cozy Table in Benton, IL, with a really great group of stamper/friends. I can hardly wait!

I created today's inspiration for my Birthday Card Buffet back in February:

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_1 - Copy

I combined the Swallowtail Background, Postage Due, and the largest Butterflies Framelit Die with Baked Brown Sugar and Perfect Plum ink. I mounted it all on a Mossy Meadow single-flat-layer base. (no fold)

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_3 - Copy

I stamped-off the Postage Due images I had inked with the Baked Brown Sugar before stamping the Swallowtail Background with full-strength Perfect Plum. I cut out the butterfly using the dryer sheet/waxed paper technique to help all the tiny little cut-out pieces to be easily removed.

I originally colored the Pearl Basic Jewel Embellishment with a Rich Razzleberry Blendability marker, but since the Blendabilities are no longer available to order you could use a Sharpie marker in a coordinating color as a replacement.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_4 - Copy

I stamped  "my friend" from And Many More with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_2 - Copy

On the flip side of the Mossy Meadow "postcard" I stamped the Postcard Background on the Very Vanilla layer with Tuxedo Black ink, then added the greeting from the Occasions Catalog Hostess set, Because You Care.

Sponging with Baked Brown Sugar ink all around the edges of the front and the back add to this cards' vintage feel.

We stamped and sponged a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, lining it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Designer Paper cut with the largest Envelope LIner Thinlets Die.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day I’m Back In the USA!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day I’m Back In the USA!

Hey there! So good to be back on native soil! Troy and I had a blast on our trip, and we are actually still in the Ft Lauderdale airport waiting for the first leg of our flight (we change planes in Atlanta before flying home to St Louis). When I discovered we had internet access I realized I had time to do a quick post for you!

Today's swaps I just received from the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop group I'm a part of. Be sure to check back here on the 15th for our next hop, which is themed "I Do!" You will be able to "hop" through 12 blogs, all showing you new papercrafting ideas just in time for the wedding season!

First, France Martin created this fun-fold card using the Off the Grid stamp set (retired and sold out!), Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches, and a greeting from the Lots of Thanks stamp set:

Stampin_up_lots_of_thanks_france_martin

I don't recall at the moment what this fun-fold is called, but I'm going to find out and do a video for you soon to show you how to do it.

Next, Judy Garza used the Swallowtail single stamp to create this black-and-white beauty!

Stampin_up_swallowtail_judy_garza

The greeting is from Loving Thoughts, another retiring set that is currently only still available in wood-mount.

Finally, Laura Milligan covered a notepad with new Moonlight Designer Paper and stamped a message with the new stamp set we received at the 2014 New Catalog Premiere, Work of Art:

Stampin_up_work_of_art_laura_milliagan

Love it!

Hope you are having a good Mother's Day. Whether you are a mother or not, we all have (or have had) a Mom, so there is much to be thankful for.

That's all for now. I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Here's short supply lists for the swaps that the products are currently available for. (Work of Art and Moonlight Designer Paper for Laura's project will not be available until the new catalog starts on June 2nd)

Stampin’Up! Yes Mam’s! Shoebox Swap Card #3, #4, & #5!

Stampin’Up! Yes Mam’s! Shoebox Swap Card #3, #4, & #5!

Good morning! I have THREE card ideas for you today, brought to you by Martha Swift, Kristen Hoffman, and Sherry Chrisman!

Martha's card uses the yummy color combo of Strawberry Slush and Whisper White! Martha embossed the Strawberry Slush layer with the Stripes Textured Impressions Folder, punched the lower edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch, then added Gingham Garden Designer Paper cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits! Inside the oval opening we stamped the "Hello" from Lacy & Lovely with Basic Gray ink, then added a Strawberry Slush-stamped flower from Secret Garden cut with one of the Secret Garden Framelits. A Primrose Petals In-Color Dahlia coordinates wonderfully with the Strawberry Slush color! I love the crisp, clean lines of this card!

Martha 1

One of my newest recruits, Kristen, designed this quick-and-easy card using a set I've always admired but never have gotten around to ordering, Bootiful Occasions! Kristen chose Midnight Muse and Cherry Cobbler for her colors. The Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon really pulls this simple design together!

Kristen

Sherry Chrisman's design combines  the beautiful Swallowtail butterfly stamp with Crisp Cantaloupe ink! For a bit of bling she heat-embossed the phrase from Million & One with Silver Embossing Powder on Brushed Silver cardstock and added one tiny Basic Jewel Rhinestone. The edges of this layer were cut with the Large Scallop EdgelitBrushed Silver-punched Bitty Butterflies finish this card off beautifully!

Sherry 1

That's all for today! I will be back tomorrow with one more Shoebox Swap creation by Tudy Hoffman!

Hope your day Stampingrox!

Stampin’Up! More Butterflies!

Stampin’Up! More Butterflies!

Good morning! Butterflies are really HOT right now, with the Best of Butterflies stamp set and the Swallowtail single stamp, there are just endless possibilities! Add in the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches and then the Big Shot Butterlfly Bigz Die and Embosslit, and it just keeps getting better!

This first card features the Swallowtail single stamp in Midnight Muse, with First Edition Specialty Paper (retired), Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding, and Vanilla Flower Trim. It's so beautiful it doesn't even need to "speak", which is my word for stamping a greeting on the front of a card!

Note: all supplies used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise

Swallowtail 1

For this card the Distressed Dots Background was stamped on the Early Espresso layer first, then the Swallowtail was embossed with Black Embossing Powder. Bleach was applied to the image with an Aquapainter. After the bleach had dried and "bleached" the cardstock within the embossed lines, color was applied using Stampin' Write Markers. Gorgeous!

Colored bleach

Our final Swallowtail card is CAS (clean and simple), stamped with Jet Black StazOn. A little bit of not-so-simple was added with the Delicate Design Embossing Folder. This card "speaks" with a "you make me smile" from the new catalog stamp set, A Round Array, punched with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch!

Basic black

Stay with me now, there's two more cards to share!

This beauty is uses the Elegant Butterfly AND the Bitty Butterfly punches in Not Quite Navy and Silver Glimmer Paper, respectively. "Wonderful You" is from Loving Thoughts, and the ribbon-like layer has been cut with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Shot Die from Basic Black, Not Quite Navy, and Silver Glimmer!

Tasteful trim

Our final sample today is an eclectic mix of the Best of Butterfly, French Foliage (retiring), Secret Garden & World Treasures stamp sets, with a generous amount of sponging on the edges and hand-colored butterflies with the Blender Pens for a soft look!

Best of butterflies

That's all for today! Hope you are enjoying these swaps! Please leave me a comment to let me know, ok?

Stampin’ Up! More Swallowtails!

Stampin’ Up! More Swallowtails!

Happy Monday morning too you! Today I am going to be head-down working on prep for two stamp camps this week at separate locations, a vendor fair, and getting packed and ready for Fiji! Well, I don't actually expect to pack any today, but I am going to get my suitcases down from the attic so I can start seriously thinking about it! lol!

I know I said a few days ago I was done showing you butterflies for awhile, but then my monthly swap came in the mail and here were these three lovely examples, all made with the Swallowtail single stamp!

Note: all products and images used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

Brenda Hukriede created this lovely sample using the Chalkboard Technique!

Chalkboarding Brenda Hukriede

Linda Pagel used simple White Embossing with a bit of sponging to make this one really pop off the page!

Heat Embossing Lilnda Pagel p

Alas, this beauty either didn't have a creator's name on it, so I'm just guessing that she used a variation of the Polished Stone Technique with Whisper White cardstock instead of the traditional glossy, and then added some Shimmer Paint for the final step! It's a gorgeous card, no matter what the technique used!

Polished Stone on Whisper White p

Well, that's all for today! I've really got to get busy! What I get accomplished today will most likely make- or-break my entire week!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

You can always go HERE to order your stampin' supplies, anytime of day, any day of the week!
