Stampin’ Up! English Rose for April Online Class!

Stampin’ Up! English Rose for April Online Class!

Hey there! I've been doing a lot of stamping this week, as well as cutting a lot of paper, prepping for classes later this month after I return from the Stampin' Up! OnStage Live in Salt Lake City next week! Today I have one card I've created for the April Online Class using English Garden Designer Paper, Rose Garden Framelits, and the Watercolor Wishes stamp set.

Stampin_up_english_rose_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I've re-discovered my stash of English Garden designer paper, which retires on May 31st (and may disappear before then when the Retiring Stamps & Accessories List goes live on April 18!)

Stampin_up_english_rose_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

This card is really easy. After layering the two designs of English Garden on a 4 1/4" x 11" Tip Top Taupe folded card base, I sponged the edges with Tip To Taupe ink. I wrapped 20" of Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim around the front to tie in a bow. This lace is TO DIE FOR!  If you don't have any of it, you NEED it! It's delicate, soft, and stretchy to make perfect bows! I wish we had this lace in more colors! I cut out a couple of Blushing Bride roses with my Rose Garden Thinlets, sponged on more Blushing Bride, then adhered with glue dots.

Stampin_up_english_rose_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

The greeting, stamped with Tip Top Taupe,  is from Watercolor Wishes, a set you can only get when you order the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.

Stampin_up_english_rose_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Inside I used another sentiment from Watercolor Wishes and an edge of another Blushing Bride rose.

This card, along with two more designs, is included in the pack of 6 completed cards with envelopes and instructions to make more when you place an order of at least $35 in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

$5.25

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's about time we had a Sunday Swap Day, don't you think? I still have some samples from the November Monthly swap that I was saving to show you!

This first sample does not have a name on it. I'm not sure if it came that way or if I somehow lost it, but regardless, it's a lovely masculine swap created with the Hearth & Home framelits (which will still be available to order from the new Occasions Catalog!) and The Open Sea stamp set:

Stampin_up_the_open_sea_1

The creator made her own textured very vanilla background by scoring lines with her Simply Scored Tool. The "happy birthday" is from And Many More.

Stampin_up_the_open_sea_2

Next, Karen Kurz created a free-standing pop-up card using the same Hearth & Home Thinlets (which will still be available in the Occasions Catalog) with the Happy Scenes set (which IS RETIRING on January 4th)

Stampin_up_happy_scenes_4

Rhonda Bassler also used Hearth & Home thinlets and Happy Scene stamps. She used the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder, a Holiday favorite that, although not available to order right now, will be available again in the new Annual Catalog that starts June 1, 2016! "Thinking of You" is from the ever-popular Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Stampin_up_happy_scenes_1

Finally, Kavi Coulson combined Wonderland and Guy Greetings, with the Glitter-Splatter technique for her swap:

Stampin_up_wonderland_1

The Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration begins on Tuesday, January 5th, but you can still order Wonderland and Happy Scenes stamp sets in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Season!

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Season!

Hey there! Today I have the second card in the November Online Class to share with you! I've been revisiting a few older techniques I learned "way back when" I first started stamping almost 13 years ago. For today's card I used the "frosted window" technique with the Joyful Season set!

Stampin_up_joyful_season_1

I cut a window through both layers on my card front so I could put a piece of wide packing tape on the back side of the white layer, sticky-side-up, and then sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds glitter:

Stampin_up_joyful_season_2

The tiny little holly leaves are from the Snow Place stamp set, cut with the coordinating Snow Friends Framelit. All the rest of the stamps are from Joyful Season.

The only thing I really had to be careful about was not stamping the cardinal on the branch too low so he would show through the sparkly window!

Stampin’ Up! Labor Day Greetings!

Stampin’ Up! Labor Day Greetings!

Hey there! As I was starting to write this post, I started thinking about Labor Day. How did it start? Why do we celebrate it? I googled it, of course, and in a nutshell, this is what I found on Wikipedia:

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.

I also found that some originally wanted to celebrate it on May 1, but the first Monday in September was chosen instead. How weird would it have been to have two national holidays observed in the same month? I glad they chose to "bookend" summer with Memorial Day and Labor Day!

I'm still vacationing with my hubby in Branson, MO, today, but we will be heading home tonight. I don't have a creation to share with you right now, just the Labor Day origin info (hope your'e not too disappointed), but I WILL be back tomorrow with a new card, the second in my series using the Acorny Thank You set! Please come back tomorrow!

Tomorrow will also be Tuesday, so there will be new Weekly Deals, yay!

Stampin’ Up! Awesomely Artistic Class Card Number Three!

Stampin’ Up! Awesomely Artistic Class Card Number Three!

Hey there! Here's the final card for the August Awesomely Artistic Online Class!

What's the Online Class? Every month I create three cards, using the same stamp set, birthday themed. Everyone placing an order of at least $35 (before shipping & tax) by the 20th of the month in my Online Store will receive 6 cards with envelopes, two of each of the three designs, and instructions for free!

To participate in my August Awesomely Artistic Online Class, use this Hostess Code when you order: ASG7GUCR

I used the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Folder to give the card front a "garden wall":

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_brick_wall_1 - Copy

After stamping the floral image with Elegant Eggplant ink, I used a Blender Pen to spread around the ink for soft color. I used the same Blender Pen to color the leaves with ink squeezed onto the lid of the ink pad.

I stamped the floral onto crumb cake before embossing with the Brick Wall folder, and on the "ledge".

I highlighted the blooms with a tiny bit of Gold Dazzling Details.

Stampin_up_awesomely_artistic_brick_wall_2 - Copy

I pulled  the gold thread from Gold Metallic Baker's Twine to tie through the Very Vintage Button.

Inside I used a sentiment from Butterfly Basics.
