Stampin’ Up! Cookie Cutter Halloween Shrinky-Dink Scarecrow!

Stampin’ Up! Cookie Cutter Halloween Shrinky-Dink Scarecrow!

Hey there! I found directions to use plastic packaging from pre-cut grocery store fruit to shrink stamped images, so I shrank the Cookie Cutter Halloween scarecrow!

Stampin_up_cookie_cutter_halloween_carolpaynestamps2

I attached him to a Clear Tiny Treat Box from the annual catalog. They are 2"x2"x2", absolutely adorable, and $7.50 for a pack of 16.

Stampin_up_cookie_cutter_halloween_carolpaynestamps1

I added a 2" x 8" strip of Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper, scored at 2", 4" and 6".

I am hoping to do a quick video for you soon, but in a nutshell, here's how:

  1. Rub the plastic with a sanding block (you can purchase one where manicure supplies are sold), Stamp the scarecrow from Cookie Cutter Halloween with Jet Black StazOn ink.
  2. Cut out with Paper Snips.
  3. Punch a hole with the 1/8" Hand-held Circle Punch
  4. Color with green and orange Sharpie markers.
  5. Hold the scarecrow  on a cookie sheet with tweezers.
  6. Heat with the Heat Tool.  As the plastic shrink it may try to curl. Keep directing the heat so it will flatten.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_carolpaynestamps3

I wrapped Kraft Rope Trim from the Holiday Catalog around the box, tied in a knot, then added the scarecrow and a Very Vanilla greeting from Acorny Thank You punched with the Acorn Builder Punch. I tied them on with Crushed Curry Baker's Twine.

All of the supplies to create this project are found in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday!

Hey there! This weekend was super-busy with Trick-or-Treaters on Friday, a Vendor Fair on Saturday, and a family gathering on Sunday. No time to think or blog!

I have one last set of fall swaps to share today!

First, Rose Marie Coleman used Vintage Leaves, Hardwood Background, and a greeting from For All Things for her creation:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_1

Next, Kristin Kortonick also used Vintage leaves and the Hardwood Background, but by choosing Sahara Sand and Whisper White she achieved a completely different look!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_2

Kristin also added the Watercolor Wash background on the Sahara Sand layer to give it a little more color and a textured look. She cut the leaves with the Leaflets Framelits. I love her touches of adding a vellum leaf, pearls, and Silver Thread!

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_3

Patty Chenail also used Vintage Leaves and For All Things sets, choosing to use the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for her background:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_4

Finally, Linda Pagel used  the Acorny Thank You set with the matching Acorn Builder Punch for her swap. The Large Polka-Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is the perfect background for all of the little polka-dots on the Designer Series Paper, Decorative Dots-embossed white circle, and the top of the acorn!

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day Fall Assortment!

Stampin’ Up! Saturday Swap Day Fall Assortment!

Hey there! I have a pretty nice group of fall swaps to share with you today!

First, Anne Brown combined Into the Woods Designer Paper with Acorny Thank you for her swap, adding a Gold Foil "thanks" cut with a Hello You Thinlet:

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_1

Tone-on-tone stamped acorns make a subtle background:

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_2

Next, Sandy Carlson used Thankful Forest Friends, including a gorgeous print from the Into the Woods Designer Paper and Into the Woods 3/8"  Cotton Ribbon!

Stampin_up_thankful_forest_friends_1

Thankful Forest Friends has a total of 7 whimsical images that work for the outside and the inside of the card:

Stampin_up_thankful_forest_friends_2

Jenn Gulch also used Thankful Forest Friends and Into the Woods paper for her Corner Flip Card swap:

Stampin_up_thankful_forest_friends_5

Katina Martinez' swap isn't actually fall-themed, but I love how she stamped the wreath from the Circle of Spring on vellum, colored with markers, and accented with punched Itty Bitty Accents flowers. After cutting with the Wonderful Wreath framelit, she mounted on a Whisper White Brick Wall-embossed layer. The Basic Black background was embossed with the Lovely Lace folder.

Stampin_up_circle_of_spring_1

I also love her fresh color combo of Whisper White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, and Calypso Coral:

Stampin_up_circle_of_spring_2

Finally, Tamie Ackerson chose Vintage Leaves for her swap. After stamping with Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Cajun Craze on the coordinating card stocks, she cut with the Leaflets framelits, then spritzed with alcohol and crumpled each leaf before adding to her creation with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_Up_vintage_leaves_1

The 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon gives an earthy feel. Tamie even tied a few of the threads from the ribbon around the leaf stem.

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Birthday!

Hey there! I shared group pictures of my September Online Classes last week, so today I'm starting to share the individual cards. First, a birthday card with the Acorny Thank You set:

Stampi_up_acorny_thank_you_1 - Copy

It seems like Halloween is more about candy-packaging,but I LOVE the alternate designs in the Happy Haunting Designer Paper, so I put some of these prints together, adding Black Glimmer Paper for sparkle behind the banner and to top the acorn.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_2 - Copy

I also love adding Rich Razzleberry to the traditional orange and black of Halloween, so I added a layer between the Basic Black and Tangelo Twist layers, and stamped the greeting and the acorn with it too! I tied the bow around the top of the acorn with the new Gold Cording  Trim from the Holiday Catalog. This cording also comes in silver.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_3 - Copy

Inside I stamped the big "Happy Birthday" from the Happy Birthday Everyone Hostess set with Rich Razzleberry, as well as the "NUTS about you" from Acorny Thank You. A little bit of black glimmer punched again for the acorn top and it's done!

This card is one of the three designs you will receive, 2 of each design for a total of 6 cards, including envelopes and instructions, when you place an order of at least $35 by the 30th of the month in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Here's the supply list to help you with your shopping:

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Four!

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Four!

Hey there! Today I need to just jump right in and share my final card in my Acorny Thank You series:

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_leaflets_1 - Copy

After embossing the Rich Razzleberry background layer with the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder I added Into the Woods Designer Series Paper Leaves cut with the Leaflets Framelits Dies.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_leaflets_2 - Copy

It felt like it needed a bit more "rustic", so I added loops of thread from the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon. I folded the threads, adding them with glue dots behind the leaves. The "thankful" banner is also from the Acorny Thank You set, and of course, I had to add a Into the Woods Element!

The sentiment inside is from Lighthearted Leaves, surrounded by Acorny Thank You acorns.

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Three!

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Three!

Hey there! Today I have card #3 in my Acorny Thank You series!

For today's creation I adhered 3/4" wide strips of Into the Woods Designer Paper on the diagonal to the Whisper White, trimming the ends  even with the layer with my Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_1 - Copy

I was able to easily stamp the "SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU" along the top edge of the paper strip, and the Into The Woods Element  acorn coordinated perfectly with the stamped and punched Acorny Thank You acorn. I added an Old Olive leaf stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and one of the Lighthearted Leaves stamps for more contrasting color, cutting it out with a Leaflets Framelits die.  I wrapped the layer with a long thread from the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_2 - Copy

Inside I added just one Into The Woods Designer Paper strip and a partial phrase from Lighthearted Leaves that I masked off with wrapping tape before inking.

Tip when masking off images with tape: add the tape over the part of the image (or words) you want to omit from your final image. Ink the stamp. BEFORE YOU STAMP ON YOUR PAPER REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE TAPE FROM THE INKED IMAGE!

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_3 - Copy

The Emily Bronte quote also included in the Lighthearted Leaves set.
