Stampin’ Up!, Marquee Messages Color-Blocked!

Stampin’ Up!, Marquee Messages Color-Blocked!

Hey there! I've had internet issues this morning, so I'm later than normal getting my blog post up. I wasn't able to get my post scheduled last night either because I didn't get to work on my third and final card for the May Online Class yesterday. I had some kind of weird tummy bug that kept me feeling uncomfortable and listless a lot of the day yesterday. Today's card is another Marquee Messages card, but it's not one of the May Online Class cards. It's actually the first Marquee Messages card I created. I used the "Color-Blocking" technique with all of the new 2016-2017 In Colors:

I used four of the five new In Colors: Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, and Peekaboo Peach. I cut all four colors 4" x 5 1/4", then cut each into four pieces 2" x 2 5/8". I adhered one of each color to a Very Vanilla base of 4" x 5 1/4' with SNAIL, then embossed with the Confetti Textured Impressions folder.

After adding a 3" x 4" rectangle of Basic Black, I embossed the marquee image three times on Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo with new Copper Embossing Powder.

I embossed "IT'S YOUR" and "Birthday!" also with copper powder. All the the sections are hand-cut with Paper Snips, then added around the center with SNAIL.

I repeated the background on the inside, then embossed the "Awesome!" sentiment with copper powder. For the silver sparkles I stamped the sparkle image from Marquee Messages on the back side of Silver Glimmer paper, cut out with snips, then added to the card front and inside with glue dots.

Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Hey there! The first day of convention was yesterday and the highlight of the morning was the unveiling of the new Holiday Catalog. Oh. My. Goodness. There are no words to explain how fantastically mind-boggling it is. You are going to LOVE  it!

Until I can show it to you, however, you will have to be content with another Christmas in July Class card, this time with the non-Christmas set, An Open Heart. This card was a favorite of many stampers:

I used the Hardwood background on the stamped layer first. I "stamped off" the Tip Top Taupe ink on scrap paper before stamping on the Crumb Cake card stock, then I stamped the berry branch with Mossy Meadow ink.

I colored the berries with a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler ink just so I could get a little more subtle color than I would if I used a marker. I followed the coloring with just a bit of clear Dazzling Details for a frosted look.

The linen thread is tied in a bow and then added with a glue dot.

I stamped the Christmas phrases from Petite Pairs on the front and inside with Cherry Cobbler ink. I also breathed on the remaining ink on the hardwood and the branch before stamping again on the inside layer.
