Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas in July An Open Heart!

Hey there! The first day of convention was yesterday and the highlight of the morning was the unveiling of the new Holiday Catalog. Oh. My. Goodness. There are no words to explain how fantastically mind-boggling it is. You are going to LOVE  it!

Until I can show it to you, however, you will have to be content with another Christmas in July Class card, this time with the non-Christmas set, An Open Heart. This card was a favorite of many stampers:

Stampin_up_open_heart_1 - Copy

I used the Hardwood background on the stamped layer first. I "stamped off" the Tip Top Taupe ink on scrap paper before stamping on the Crumb Cake card stock, then I stamped the berry branch with Mossy Meadow ink.

Stampin_up_open_heart_3 - Copy

I colored the berries with a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler ink just so I could get a little more subtle color than I would if I used a marker. I followed the coloring with just a bit of clear Dazzling Details for a frosted look.

The linen thread is tied in a bow and then added with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_open_heart_2 - Copy

I stamped the Christmas phrases from Petite Pairs on the front and inside with Cherry Cobbler ink. I also breathed on the remaining ink on the hardwood and the branch before stamping again on the inside layer.

Stampin’ Up! Definitely Dahlia Meets Hardwood!

Stampin’ Up! Definitely Dahlia Meets Hardwood!

Hey there! I used two background stamps for today's card, Definitely Dahlia and Hardwood:

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_hardwood_1 - Copy

Truth: after I made this one I didn't like it AT ALL. I almost threw it away, but laid it aside while I worked on another card. I came back to it a few hours later with "fresh eyes", and then I liked it!

I inked the raised side of the Woodgrain folder before embossing the Soft Suede card stock. I stamped the Dahlia once with Old Olive and twice with Melon Mambo. After hand-cutting the Old Olive and one of the Melon Mambo, I punched the second Melon Mambo with the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch and once with the Bitty Butterfly punch.

The greeting is my favorite from All Boxed Up!

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_hardwood_2 - Copy

Inside I used another sentiment from All Boxed Up.

I'm still working on convention swaps, Christmas in July class, three special birthday cards and a special baby shower car, all due BEFORE I go to convention on the 22nd. Oh, and did I mention we are having a yard sale this weekend too? Eeek!

Meanwhile, you can have a relaxing time shopping in my online store while I'm running around like the proverbial headless chicken: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is a really busy day. First thing this morning I am helping with the babies in the nursery, then right after church is over we are throwing a bridal shower for a good friend of our family. As soon as we clean up from the shower it will be time for the evening service. Whew! I’m tired already! I am in charge of the shower decorations, and I am really happy with what I came up with to go with the bride’s wedding theme of Teal, Red, Burlap, and Pearls. I hope to have some pics to share with you tomorrow!

But even with all the busyness, it’s still Sunday Swap Day, so here we go!

Today’s swaps have a decidedly masculine feel.

This swap created by pairing The Open Sea with the World Map background is simple but packs a lot of visual interest. Unfortunately, the creators’ name has been separated from the creation.

Stampin_up_open_sea

Second, Mary Waring achieved a stunning rendition of World Map by coloring the  “map” with Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz. She used the suitcase from the Traveler set and a phrase from Really Good Greetings.

Stampin_up_world_map

Third, Becky NIchols combined the Hardwood background with the Moon Lake set. I really like how she used the Window Frames Framelits Dies to cut out and mat the bird image, then used one of the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits to cut out the greeting!

Stampin_up_moon_lake

Finally, Ruth Anne Lilley also used Hardwood and Moon Lake, but used the swish stamp from Work of Art to easily add color to the tree and boat image!

Stampin_up_work_of_art

That’s all for now. I must get ready for this busy day!

Here’s the link to my online store to order your supplies to make your own version of these cards:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

You will receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me no matter how small or large your order is!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Hey there! I've had a GREAT weekend! Grandbabies here for Halloween, craft fair on Saturday, a party on Sunday afternoon. Throw in the time-change last night and I'm happy-but-exhausted!

Our first little trick-or-treater this year was Oakley the baby ghost! He was all bundled up warm as toast inside his cut-out pillowcase. His hat underneath helped hold out the eye holes:

Oakly Halloween 2014

Yes, he is a baby ghost with a pacifier!

Of course, if you really NEED to see better, all you have to do is move the holes around a bit:

Oakley peeking
Oakley, Liam (as Anakin Skywalker), and Jaxon (as Mickey Mouse):

Payne Clan Halloween 2014

The Hollis kids: Mickey Jaxon, Cavegirl Ava, and Minecraft Cohen!

Hollis kids Halloween 2014

Thanks for enduring my proud grandma moment. As a reward, here's today's swaps, all created  using the Wondrous Wreath Bundle:

Mary Ellen Byler created a lovely white-washed look with the Hardwood Background, faintly stamped on Smoky Slate. Love her non-traditional color combo of Pistachio Pudding, Mossy Meadow, and Blackberry Bliss:

Stampin_up_wondrouns_wreath_1

Not sure of this ones' creator, but it's perfect simplicity in Whisper White, Smok Slate and Silver heat embossing.

Stampin_up_wondrous_wreath_3
This is also a nameless beauty using Trim the Tree Designer Paper Stack and Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for the berries.

Stampin_up_wondrous_wreath_2

That's all for now. Check back tomorrow to see the cards in the November Online Christmas Card Class. To get the kit, just place a $35 order in my online store using this Hostess Code: VW4XC9RH With yucky weather and an uber-busy weekend I've not had a chance to photograph them. Will get that done pronto tomorrow and posted for you!

Here's today's main products. Order through my Online Store:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Sunday Night!

Hey there! It's Sunday! yay! This morning was my turn to help in the nursery at church during the morning service. Lot's of work, but so much fun!

Today's swap cards are all about florals and color!

First a side-fold card with the  Flower Patch Bundle, Four You greeting, and yummy new Melon Mambo 1/4" Cotton Ribbon!

Stampin_up_flower_patch_1

Inside you can see how the side-fold and center panel work. Card base is Wild Wasabi.

Stampin_up_flower_patch_2

Next, a window pocket card. A Flower Fair Framelit was used to cut the window, and a phrase from the new Fabulous Four was embossed with white to make it pop!

Stampin_up_fabulous_four_1

I have helpers when I'm taking my pics outside on my deck. This is just one of the TEN kittens we have right now!

Stampin_up_fabulous_four_2

Next is Blended Bloom. The hand-cut lattice technique was used on the spine of the card and the Hardwood Background really completes the backyard-fence look!

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_6

Here's another view of my Blended Bloom card from earlier this week. You can view the original post with more details HERE.

Stampin_up_blended_bloom_2 - Copy

That's all for now. I'm so sorry this isn't posting until Sunday night, but you know how things go, sometimes not at all how you plan!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
