Stampin’ Up! He’s All That For Luke!

Hey there! I needed a masculine birthday card for my grandson-in-law, Luke, and the He's All That Bundle and He's the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper came to the rescue!

I started by cutting a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the designer paper at the 3" line, flipping the 2 1/4" piece over and adhering to the top front of the Basic Black card base. I then adhered the Cajun Craze diagonal-striped layer.

For the focal greeting image I used one of the die-cuts from the sheets included in the designer paper pack, adhering to a slightly larger Basic Black mat layer. I then adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

IMG_4003

For the lower sentiment I cut Basic Black card stock with this cool die to create the background for the Tuxedo Black-stamped "love this guy". I cut it out with another one of the All That dies.

IMG_4002

Inside I used two sentiments from the Sending Smiles stamp set. I also stamped the corners of the layer with an image from the He's All That stamp set, all with black ink.

I stamped this He's All That sentiment on the envelope flap!

Stampin’ Up! I Say Hello at the Country Club!

Stampin’ Up! I Say Hello at the Country Club!

Hey there! The card I have to share with you today is with I Say Hello again, but this time I paired it with the Country Club Designer Series Paper that is retiring from the Spring Mini Catalog. I never got around to ordering the Clubhouse stamp set that coordinates with this paper; there were sooooo many lovely stamps to choose from! One of my Yes Mam! Stampers team girls did, so I did get a chance to stamp with it a little bit at one of our team meetings. If you are a golfer or married to one, you just might want to order this suite of products before it's gone on June 2nd. There's nothing like it in the new Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_country_club_designer_carolpaynestamps1

I used the print you can see on the far left of the above picture for my focal image, then built my card around it.

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_country_club_carolpaynestamps2

This print (there are two sheets on this in the package) is spaced perfectly so you can cut it into twelve 4-inch-by-3-inch pieces, perfect for card fronts!

Country Club 1

You can color these prints with blender pens, watercolor pencils, sponge daubers, or Stampin' Blends. I chose to leave this one black-and-white. It really "pops" against the bright argyle-layer under it!

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_country_club_carolpaynestamps3

I heat-embossed the "my friend" from I Say Hello on a scrap of Garden Green with white powder, then used a Smooth Sailing die to cut it out.

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_country_club_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used another I Say Hello sentiment to keep it simple. It worked great on the edge of the envelope too!

Stampin’ Up! Dapper Denim Epic Celebrations!

Stampin’ Up! Dapper Denim Epic Celebrations!

Hey there! While I was playing with the Epic Celebrations set a few days ago, I created today's card with Dapper Denim and Lemon Lime Twist. You know me, I like to do at least two versions of just about every card I create, and this one is no exception. Can you tell what I changed?

Stampin_up_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps1

My first card I heat-embossed the speckles with white powder before dry embossing with the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot.

Stampin_up_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps2

I created a double banner effect by snipping the ends of Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim into banner points. I then heat-embossed "you're awesome" with white powder.

Stampin_up_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps3

I loved the min-medallion look from my previous Epic Celebration card, so I used both the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Scallop Circle to create one for this card.

Stampin_up_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps4

My second version has the guitar stamped between the embossed speckles before dry embossing with the Simple Stripes folder.

Stampin_up_epic_celebrations_carolpaynestamps6

Inside I stamped Stylized Birthday and the guitar with Dapper Denim  and the speckles with Lemon Lime Twist.

Stampin’ Up! My Hero for My Brother!

Stampin’ Up! My Hero for My Brother!

Hey there! My big brother, Don, turned 76. He was an 18 year-old high school senior the day I arrived. He went to football practice and told the guys he had a new baby sister. They didn't believe him!

My mom was sick a lot, passing away when I was almost 11. My brother and his wife took care of me, sometimes several weeks at a time, during my mom's final battle with lung/brain cancer. He helped me continue in school, giving me support when I was lonely. My big brother is truly my hero.

I CASED a  birthday card by Julie Pitta, changing and adding a few things of my own:

Stampin_up_my_hero_carolpaynestamps1

I used the My Hero Ronald McDonald House Charities set, which is retiring, and Best Badge Punch.

I punched a Crumb Cake Best Badge, cutting in half before adhering. I stamped a Dapper Denim "#1" on Crumb Cake, punched with the 1/2" Circle, and adhering with a dimensional. I added snippets of  5/8" Burlap Ribbon and coming-soon-in-the-new-catalog 1/4" Copper Trim!

Stampin_up_my_hero_carolpaynestamps2

Using the Timeless Textures cross-hatch image, I stamped-off Sahara Sand on both Real Red and Dapper Denim strips, then stamped CELEBRATE with Real Red on the Real Red strip and Dapper Denim on the Dapper Denim strip.

Stampin_up_my_hero_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I stamped Stylized Birthday with Dapper Denim and more stamped-off CELEBRATE's.

Stampin’ Up! Wetlands Meets Adventure Bound!

Stampin’ Up! Wetlands Meets Adventure Bound!

Hey there! How are you doing today? Things have calmed down around here after all excitement yesterday, and I had a little time to create! My hostess for tonight has requested a card using the Wetlands stamp set, so I put my thinking cap on.

I decided to use a bit of retiring Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for my card base, then layered on a piece of Adventure Bound Designer Paper from the stack in the Occasions Catalog. I cut a window with one of the soon-retiring Window Frames Framelits dies, then added a Baked Brown Sugar frame cut with the same die and the next-larger die from the same set.

Stampin_up_wetlands_1

I stamped a layer of Very Vanilla with the little shore birdies from the Wetlands set. My hostess had also admired a technique on a swap I had on my display board that used the swish stamp from the Work of Art stamp set, so I used that stamp to add the background colors behind the birdies. I stamped all of my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored the shore grass with my Blender Pen using Pear Pizzazz and Sahara Sand ink from the lid of the pad.

Stampin_up_wetlands_3

Inside I used the cut-out from the Adventure Bound layer on the front, then stamped the sentiment from Yippee Skippee! (which is retiring) and cut it out with the next-to-smallest Window Frames Framelit.

Stampin_up_wetlands_2

A bit more stamping with the Work of Art "swish", the birdies and the grass finish off the inside. I kept the stamping of the grass and the birdies on the envelope simple by using just the Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Here's the instruction sheet for you to download:
