Stampin’ Up! What I Love Blended Bloom!

Stampin’ Up! What I Love Blended Bloom!

Hey there! I discovered a really cool way to use the What I Love Sale-a-bration set with the Blended Bloom single stamp! Lookie:

Stampin_up_what_I_love_1 - Copy

I stamped the Blended Bloom and the outlines from What I Love with Archival Basic Black ink, then used the middle of the three-step stamping bloom from What I Love to stamp around the outside of the bloom with Rose Red ink. I stamped the center of the bloom with the solid three-step stamping bloom from What I Love with Crumb Cake ink.

Stampin_up_what_I_love_3 - Copy

The center still needed something, so I added a White Perfect Accent.

Even though this is a sympathy card, it turned out even better than I imagined! yay!

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Tape and Wetlands!

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Tape and Wetlands!

Hey there! Liam's birthday party was last night with yummy food, good friends & family, fun presents for the birthday boy, cousins to play with, and an Oreo Blizzard ice cream cake! Perfect!

I mentioned Liam's card yesterday but I'm not sharing just yet. Today I'm working on Ava's card for her party on Monday. I will be sharing these soon.

On today's card we used the Painter's Tape Technique with the little shorebirdies  from Wetlands:

Stampin_up_wetlands_1 - Copy

I bought the Wetlands set because I love these little shorebirdies! They are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink after I used painter's tape to add the Night of Navy, Pool Party, and Crumb Cake ink to the Whisper White layer. I added the seagrass with Pear Pizzazz and the "Thinking of You" from Wetland with the Memento ink. The card seemed a little bit "flat", but after I added a single Crumb Cake Candy Dot, it all came together.

Stampin_up_wetlands_2 - Copy

Inside I used the same technique and same colors of ink but with a phrase from Thoughts and Prayers.

That's all for now. Here's the shopping list for today's card. Everything (except the painter's tape) can be ordered in my Online Store:

Come back to see me tomorrow for Sunday Swap Day! Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Fabric Flowers on Cardstock!

Stampin’ Up! Fabric Flowers on Cardstock!

Hey there! I'm heading to the dr later today to see what they can do for this crud I have. Every year in May I go down with a massive seasonal allergy attack that leaves me coughing, feverish, and feeling overall lousy. I have allergy meds I take all year long, and a few other daily things to help keep my allergies at bay the rest of the time, but when the wheat blooms (which this year is all around my house!) I'm done for.

Today I have a different bloom for you, fabric flower blooms:

Stampin_up_fun_flowers_bigz_1

I had a request from a hostess last month for a fabric flower bouquet and matching card so this is what I came up with. Stampin' Up! doesn't sell fabric anymore, so I broke in to my stash of fat quarter bundles to find this fabric. I matched this bundle with Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, and Marina Mist!

Stampin_up_thoughts_prayers_flower_1 - Copy

For shape we adhered cardstock to the fabric using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (retiring), then we cut them with a retiring flower die, the Fun Flowers Bigz L.

My next newsletter (going out tomorrow) will contain a tutorial to make these flowers, so if you aren't subscribed to receive my newletters, please go over to my sidebar to the "sign up for my email newsletter" box and sign up!

Stampin_up_thoughts_prayers_2 - Copy

We stamped the inside and the envelope with Petite Petals flowers.

Here's a few new things you don't want to miss from Stampin' Up!

Stampin’Up! Yes, Mam’s Downline Meeting Swaps!

Stampin’Up! Yes, Mam’s Downline Meeting Swaps!

Hey there! I had a fun but busy Sunday! First, I helped in the nursery at church during the morning service. I do this once a month, partnering with my daughter, Jessica. It's always fun, but right now there's a bunch of little guys in there, including two of my grandsons, Jaxon and Liam, that make it even better!

After Sunday dinner at my house with 4 of my kids in attendance, I went back to my church to set up for the quarterly meeting of my Yes, Mam! Stampers!

I set up my display of my Leadership Board and more samples:

Our main activity was a Shoebox Swap:

Stampin_up_downline_meeting_1

Stampin_up_downline_meeting_2

Everyone is concentrating (and enjoying!) making each other's cards!

Here's a few of our creations of the day:

Stampin_up_by_the_seashore_michelle_daschka_1

Michelle Daschka's "By the Seashore" creation, complete with a real sea shell!

Stampin_up_owl_builder_punch_michelle_daschka_1

Michelle also brought these little treat cup favors for everyone! She found the cups in the grocery store, then used her Owl Builder Punch to create coordinating little tags for a festive look!

Stampin_up_chalk_talk_angie_lisk_1

Angie Lisk used the Chalk Talk stamp set and Framelits Bundle, Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Folder, and the colors of Crumb Cake, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, and Whisper White!

Stampin_up_chalk_talk_angie_lisk_2

Inside she used the Envelope Liner Framelit Die to create a gift card holder with more stamps from the Chalk Talk set.

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_martha_swift_1

Martha Swift created a card with two options using the Regarding Dahlias stamp set, Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Folder, 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch, Encore Gold Metallic ink, and Gold Foil Paper. You could make this portrait version using the Starburst Framelits to cut the flower layers.

Stampin_up_regrding_dahlias_martha_swift_2

Or you could make the card landscape, hand-cutting the dahlia with Paper Snips, then punching Basic Black flower layer with the Blossom Punch, the next dahlia layer with the Pansy Punch, the next Basic Black layer with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, and the final dahlia layer with the scallop circle Itty Bitty Shapes Punch.

Stampin_up_thoughts_and_prayers_collage_linda_reaney_1

Linda Reaney's creation uses a bunch of stamps with Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke ink: Flower Shop, Petite Petals (Occasions), En Francais background, and Thoughts and Prayers! The "happy Birthday wishes" is from Petite Pairs. All the stamping is on Naturals Ivory, then layered on Always Artichoke and finally a Rich Razzleberry card base. She added a bit of Victoria Crochet Trim for the perfect final touch!

That's all I have for you today. There are a few more swaps to share, but I'm saving them for tomorrow! Oh, and in case you are wondering, the Tangerine Tango Stampin' Up!  Inspire, Create, Share bag is from the Make & Take Session at Leadership. All attendees received one! Stampin' Up! is so good at giving little perks like these!

You can go to my Online Store to shop for the supplies to make these cards by clicking HERE.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Medallion Newsprint Reveal Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Medallion Newsprint Reveal Technique!

Good Friday Morning Stampers! The weekend is almost here, school is almost out, and summer is just around the corner! Yay!

I've been working this week on the Punch/Technique Class Projects for May. I've already shown you the 3 Punch Projects we will be doing, now it's time to start showing you the Techniques!

Our Technique for today features the "Newsprint Reveal" Technique and the retiring "Medallion" Background Stamp:

Newsprint reveal 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The card base is the retiring 2010-2012 In-Color "Pear Pizzazz", and the ink that has been inkpad-direct-to-paper dragged over the clear-embossed retiring "Medallion" image is the also retiring  2010-2012 In-Color "Peach Parfait"!

Some elements of this card that are NOT retiring is the "First Edition" Designer Specialty Paper, the "Antique Brad", and the "Thinking of You" from "Thoughts and Prayers"! There is more to the "Thinking of You" stamp, but I omitted the rest by only inking up the part I needed with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Added note: I've received my complimentary Demonstrator Copy of the New 2012-2013 Annual Catalog and it is awesomely gorgeous! One new feature beginning on June 1 will be that all the remaining wood-mount sets from the previous catalog are now available in Clear-Mount as well! Yippee! This includes "Thoughts and Prayers" AND "Lovely As a Tree"! The only exception to this change is some of the background stamps remain wood-mount only, but some of them, such as "Sunflower", "Sweet Floral", and "Hello, Doily" are now available in both wood AND clear! SO COOL!

This was a fun and EASY technique! I like to include both easy and a little more challenging techniques in my monthly class so there is something for everyone to learn!

In case you were wondering about the inside of this card, here it is:

Newsprint reveal 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I clear-embossed the medallion image again directly onto the Pear Pizzazz cardstock, which gives it the tone-on-tone look! The verse is from the NOT retiring set, "Blessings from Heaven"! The combination of this verse and greeting makes this card quite versatile. It could be a simple thinking of you, birthday, sympathy, or even a thank you card.

Since we are on the subject of the New Annual Catalog, how would you like a copy of your own? You can receive a FREE copy from me when you:

1. Come to my New-Catalog "Crazy Day" on Friday, June 1st anytime from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. I will also be having my "Buy One, Get One" Sale that day. For every dollar you order from the New Catalog that day you will be able to choose an equal dollar amount of retired merchandise from my retired Stampin' Up! stash!

2. Place an Online Order of at least $25 with me between now and May 31st. You can go to my Demonstrator Business Website to do this:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Upon receipt of your order I will ship a free catalog direct to you in early June!

3. If you want a free catalog but prefer to wait until after receiving the New Annual Catalog, you can still have it free but I will need to collect the price of shipping it to you, which is $5. You will also receive a coupon good for $5 off your first order of $50 or more with your catalog. I can send you a Paypal Invoice for payment, just let me know!

I will be back tomorrow with the second technique, "Misted Markers"! Until then, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
