Project for the Yes, Ma’am’s!

Project for the Yes, Ma’am’s!

Good Monday Morning, Stampers!

Eight of my downline, the "Yes, Ma'am's!" met at my house yesterday afternoon for a time of stamping and sharing. To start off the stamping week right,  today I'm sharing with you the projects I prepared for them to make:

Beyond the Garden Quick Cards
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The box (in the center) will hold the three cards with their matching envelopes and is VERY simple to make! I found the directions for the box on the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website as part of the Online Extras for the January Stampin' Success, the monthly magazine for demonstrators. Stampin' Up! provides LOTS of ideas and inspiration for their demonstrators, all we have to do is use our monthly magazine for inspiration or go to the website for more instructions! Once I made one, I was inspired to make more!

Here's the first one I made, using our "Simply Scored Scoring Tool", which was almost an exact copy of  Stampin' Up!'s version:

Original box

After I made this box, I started creating cards to fit in it. I knew I wanted to use the "Mixed Bunch" stamp set from the Occasions Mini along with the Blossom Punch. After I paired this set with "Beyond the Garden" Designer Paper, I had to create a different box to match it! Funny how sometimes what you think you are going to do turns into something completely different, isn't it?

I created a tutorial for this box and cards for my downline, so today I'm sharing it with you:

Download Mixed Bunch Quick Cards and Box

The tutorial includes a supply list of all the stamps, cardstock, ink, and accessories I used to create this project. If you need to order any of these supplies, and do not have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator of your own, you are welcome to go to my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website to order:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Feel free to use this as you wish, for your personal creations or if you are a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for your events. All I ask is that you do not sell it by itself online, please keep it free!

I hope to be back this afternoon with a Valentine version of this box! My "to do" list is pretty long, so we will see!

Until later, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Beveled Windowpanes and the Charming Stamp Set!

Beveled Windowpanes and the Charming Stamp Set!

Beveled windowpanes made their debut in the Occasions Mini Catalog and at first I had no idea what I would do with them, but after I saw them in person and used in many creative ways at Leadership I was excited to try them out! Basically they are a beveled rectangle of exremely CLEAR acrylic with slots on two sides so you can thread ribbon, twine, etc, through them to attach to a card, scrapbook page, or even to jewelry!

This sample I CASED from another demo on Stampin' Connection, but at the moment her name escapes me. I stamped the background words from the "Charming" stamp set in once-stamped-off Old Olive, then used a Cherry Cobbler & an Old Olive Marker direct-to-stamp for the flower image. The Beveled windowpane (the largest of the three sizes in the package) is held in pace with the ribbon wrapped around to the back side of the front card layers and a Mini Glue Dot hidden under each ribbon slot! I also used a Vanilla Ribbon Rosette that I colored with the same Cherry Cobbler Marker and then blotted the excess off with a paper towel It is attached with a Mini Glue Dot as well."wishes" is from the stamp set, "Fabulous Phrases".

For the inside I "huffed" on the left-over ink on the flower stamp and managed to get TWO more stampings with the same inking! "wishing you happiness today and always" is from "Heard from the Heart"!

Beveled charming inside

These next two cards I CASED from Penny Thomas, a great lady I've had the honor of knowing thanks to Founder's Circle! Penny loves CAS (Clean And Simple)! Here I stamped the little bunny from "So Cute" to put behind the middle-sized Beveled Windowpane, and added pearls & "happy new baby" from "Family Phrases"! I sponged Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon for great co-ordination!

So cute
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

The inside I stamped with a phrase from the oldie-but-goodie, "Curvy Verses"! I love it that you can't mess up stamping these words, they are always "straight"! I punched them with the Decorative Label punch and then punched another in Blushing Bride, cut it into two pieces and STRETCHED my label!

So cute inside

The cupcake on this card is also from "So Cute", one of the sets you can get FREE right now with a $50 order!

A Saturday Post!

A Saturday Post!

Good morning! I know I never seem to post on the weekend, but I have a couple of minutes here before my Valentine Camp starts, so I thought I would post few more swaps!

Deb McCahan created this swap using the "Elegant Lines" Textured Impressions Folder on the birdie's body, vellum wing, and the card's background!

Diane Tritz used the "acetate & tissue" technique for this card using "Nature Walk"!

Here it is Friday and I just realized that I didn't post yesterday! I'm sorry! Here's the next installment from my monthly swap! (and it's just about time to mail in the February swaps, so there will be more for you to see soon!)

Here's a beautifully elegant card using the Occasions Mini set, "Blessed Mother". The phrase, "you raise kindness to an art" is from "Vintage Vogue" on page 126 of the main catalog!

"Baby Blossoms" from the Occasions Mini was used for this card. The phrase, "with sympathy", is from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" on page 157 of the main catalog.

I've been dying to show you this gorgeous card using both the "Framed Tulips" and "Manhattan Flower" Textured Impressions Folders. "With love & caring" and the butterfly is from "Thanks for Caring" and the Springtime Vintage Designer Paper is all from the Occasions Mini!

That's all for today. I'm putting the finishing touches on my "Do you need a Valentine?" Class tonight and tomorrow, and then tomorrow night my "Yes, Ma'am!" Stampers, my downline, are comint to stamp! Sunday morning will find me in the church nursery, and then Sunday afternoon I will be working on my cards for this month's swap! Lots of fun coming up! (If only I didn't have to clean my house, but hey that's what those two tall boys who still hang around here, eat my groceries, and make dirty laundry are for, eh?)

Until next time, have a "Stampingrox!" day!

A Hodge-Podge of ideas!

A Hodge-Podge of ideas!

Today's post will be filled with bright & happy cards using Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration sets!

First up is a  card from Cherri Gustafson using "Bring on the Cake" from the Occasions Mini, and the SAB free item, "Ice Cream Parlor" Designer Series Paper & Quick Accents Pack! Little dabs of 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the candle flames add the perfect finishing touch! She also used the "Scallop Rectangle" Clearlits Die for the Pacific Point mat behind the cake!

Ruth Anne Lilley created this simple-but-elegant card with the SAB free set, "Sweet Summer" and the Textured Impressions Folder, Framed Tulips!

Jennifer Weide created this cherry card using the "Ice Cream Parlor" Designer Series free pack, and the free "Punch Bunch" stamp set! She also used the "Ice Cream Parlor" Ribbon & Buttons Pack, so most of this card was absolutely free!

This one was made quick & easy by Susie Wood using the "Bring On the Cake" Occasions Mini set and the 'Tasteful Trim" die! Susie added 1/2" Circle punched circles to give the scallop-y trim more interest! This is what's known as a "gatefold" card.

Monthly Swap Card!

Monthly Swap Card!

Almost every month I participate in a swap with 20 other talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I create one card based on the swap hostess' monthly theme, then make 21 copies of that one card. I mail them off to the swap hostess, Carol Nordquist, who lives in Minnetonka, MN. I also send her the postage to mail me back 20 different cards. It is always an exciting moment to open that Priority Envelope and see the fun samples everyone came up with that month! This month's theme was non-valentine but fun stuff from the Occasions Mini. Here's the first one, stamped beautifully by Karen Kurz!

I have the "Season of Friendship" stamp set she used for this fun card, and this sample reminds me that I don't use it often enough! I love how she used the negative part of the small ric-rac from the "Tasteful Trim" Bigz XL die for the grass and added the red Glimmer Paper hearts to the tree! "hugs & kisses" is from the versatile set, "All Holidays"!

A short post today, but I'm on a tight time-schedule. My grandson, Cohen, turned 3 today, and we have a party to go to tonight, so I have some presents to wrap, as well as getting more accomplished for my "Do you need a Valentine?" camp and a downline meeting this coming weekend!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" day!
