Stampin’ Up! Halloween Monster Montage!

Stampin’ Up! Halloween Monster Montage!

My son Logan likes to drink those "energy" drinks, especially when he is driving the 3 hours home from college. Last weekend he came in with an empty nifty green "Ubermonster" Energy Brew bottle. When he asked me how did I want him to throw it away since it was glass I told him I wanted it for my blog. He thought I was crazy, but this is what I did:

Monster montage 1
I call it my "Monster Montage"! It's not my usual style, but I'm diggin' it!

Monster montage 2
I thought I had found a Circle Thinlet card similar to this one last week when I was blog surfing, but I didn't save it, not even to Pinterest, and now I can't find it anywhere, not even when I Google for it, so I just went ahead and made my own version. Did I just dream I saw this card? Sometimes I DO dream I'm stamping, so maybe so!

I used Basic Black and Old Olive cardstock with the Circle Card Thinlet Die. The eyes were made with the 1 3/4"  and 1" Circle Punches. Mr. Frankenstein's hair was cut with the Tasteful Trim Die, and his "bolts" are Basic Black Glimmer Brads. The light in his eyes is with the White Chalk Marker. I like the Chalk Marker almost better than the White Gel Pen when I need a thicker line of white.

The greeting is from Halloween Hello in the Holiday Catalog, punched with the Hexagon Punch and matted on a Basic Black Hexagon-punched layer.

Monster montage 3
When you open the card you see the rest of his "smile" and when the Circle Card "flips" you  see the "it's all about the candy", also from Halloween Hello.

Monster montage 4
I decorated Logan's "ubermonster" bottle with a tag that I cut with a Chalk Talk Framelit from Brushed Silver cardstock for the bottom layer, then one of the designs from the Witches' Brew Designer Paper on top. "For You" is a stamp from the Chalk Talk set, black heat-embossed on Gumball Green cardstock, punched with the 1 3/8" Circle Punch, then layered on a Basic Black Label Bracket. It is adhered to the tag with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Monster montage 5
The tag is tied to the bottle with Pear Pizzazz Chevron Ribbon. I added a Basic Black Glimmer Brad to the ribbon at the base of the tag to cinch it up and for a little extra bling.

That's all for now! Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my "Monster Montage"!

As always, you can shop my Online Store for the products to create your own "monster montage" by clicking on the "shop now" button over there on the right side of my blog. I would love to help you with any project you might have in mind. Let me know if you need the current catalogs by emailing me at carol@carolpaynestamps.com. I would love to chat and help you out.

A Hodge-Podge of ideas!

A Hodge-Podge of ideas!

Today's post will be filled with bright & happy cards using Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration sets!

First up is a  card from Cherri Gustafson using "Bring on the Cake" from the Occasions Mini, and the SAB free item, "Ice Cream Parlor" Designer Series Paper & Quick Accents Pack! Little dabs of 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the candle flames add the perfect finishing touch! She also used the "Scallop Rectangle" Clearlits Die for the Pacific Point mat behind the cake!

This one was made quick & easy by Susie Wood using the "Bring On the Cake" Occasions Mini set and the 'Tasteful Trim" die! Susie added 1/2" Circle punched circles to give the scallop-y trim more interest! This is what's known as a "gatefold" card.

Monthly Swap Card!

Monthly Swap Card!

Almost every month I participate in a swap with 20 other talented Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I create one card based on the swap hostess' monthly theme, then make 21 copies of that one card. I mail them off to the swap hostess, Carol Nordquist, who lives in Minnetonka, MN. I also send her the postage to mail me back 20 different cards. It is always an exciting moment to open that Priority Envelope and see the fun samples everyone came up with that month! This month's theme was non-valentine but fun stuff from the Occasions Mini. Here's the first one, stamped beautifully by Karen Kurz!

I have the "Season of Friendship" stamp set she used for this fun card, and this sample reminds me that I don't use it often enough! I love how she used the negative part of the small ric-rac from the "Tasteful Trim" Bigz XL die for the grass and added the red Glimmer Paper hearts to the tree! "hugs & kisses" is from the versatile set, "All Holidays"!

A short post today, but I'm on a tight time-schedule. My grandson, Cohen, turned 3 today, and we have a party to go to tonight, so I have some presents to wrap, as well as getting more accomplished for my "Do you need a Valentine?" camp and a downline meeting this coming weekend!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" day!

Just a quick post before I run out the door!

Just a quick post before I run out the door!

I'm just going to post real quick this morning before my youngest daughter & I run down to Paducah to Hancock Fabrics and Hobby Lobby to pick up a few things we need for the Scallop Square Holiday Purse Class this weekend! Friday night and Saturday morning are filled, but there's still space left in the 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. classes, so contact me today to reserve your seat! We have 4 sewing machines so can have 4 pursemakers per class!

I know you are dying to see something stamped, so here's a few pics of some fabric projects I took while at Founder's! These quilt squares' appliques were all made using the Big Shot & dies:

Well, that's all for today! I must fly, as Paducah is about an hour drive away! There's no where less than an hour away from me that has fabric, and I'm way too addicted right now !
