Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Emboss Resist!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Emboss Resist!

I'm still thinking about stamp sets that would be good ones to choose as a new demonstrator starter kit, so I created this card, again with Flower Shop:

Flower shop emboss resist 1

I used the emboss resist technique, stamping the flowers with Versamark on Very Vanilla, then heat-embossing with Clear powder. I then sponged with Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler, rubbing the excess from the embossing with a tissue between each color. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede, then layered onto a mat of Early Espresso. For the background layer I stamped the flowers with Soft Suede on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, then dry-embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. I sponged the raised ridges with Soft Suede ink. I adhered a piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. I stamped "wonderful you" from Loving Thoughts in Early Espresso ink and snipped the ends into banner points. The Very Vintage Designer Button was too crisp and clean to go with all the sponging on this card, so I sponged the button with Soft Suede ink before tying a thread of Burlap Ribbon into a bow through the holes and adhering to the card with a couple of Glue Dots.

Inside I repeated the emboss resist technique in the corners and stamped phrases from Bring on the Cake.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping in to see my creation today!

Stampin’Up! Harvest Blessings Birthday!

Stampin’Up! Harvest Blessings Birthday!

Good Morning! Today I am headed to my Aunt & Uncle's 60th Anniversary Celebration! I am also taking three of my grandkids with me; Ava, Cohen, and Jaxon! I am excited to show them off to relatives I rarely get to see! It's about a 3 hour drive north to Hartsburg, Illinois (and a 3 hour drive back!) so it's a big day ahead of us!

Today I want to show you this card we made at my "Best Of" class yesterday, using Harvest Blessings, Best of Birthdays, and the water drops stamp from the My Paper Pumpkin Try-it Kit! This is a 4 1/4" square card. I  like to use this size sometimes just to do something a little different from the regular 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"!

Tractor 1

The card base is Baked Brown Sugar, layered with Marina Mist, then Soft Sky. All stamping and sponging was done with Baked Brown Sugar (isn't that just the YUMMIEST name?) ink and we added a Baked Brown Sugar Candy Dot in the lower right corner. This was my first time using a Candy Dot, and I think I'm in love! They are so easy to lift off the packaging with a Paper Piercing Tool, and simple to apply with the adhesive already on them! FUN!

After stamping and sponging we also embossed the top layer with the Chevron Textured Impressions Folder. I think it gives the look and feel of tractor-tire tread, what do you think?

Tractor 2

Finally, on the inside we stamped with a phrase from the Bring On the Cake stamp set, along with the pumpkin/apple basket stamp and the "you are the seed . . ." stamp from Harvest Blessings.

That's all for now. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Origami Dapper Dad!

Happy Sunday Morning! Just a REEEEAAL quick post today, not much detail to share, but wanted to let you see the card I swapped this month using Dapper Dad, Parker's Patterns Designer Paper, and the Sweet Buttons Embosslit:

The greeting is from Henry Says, and the inside words are from Bring on the Cake!

Dapper dad 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

That's all for now! Big family day today! We are celebrating my sweet hubby's birthday with all of our children and his mother at our house! I have a 5 lb. roast in the crockpot, a hashbrown casserole and cream-of-chicken-potatoes in the oven, and all the veggies ready to finish as soon as we get home from church. Each daughter is contributing something yummy, and there's a fresh gallon of vanilla ice cream in the freezer (my hubby LOVES ice cream!) It will be a day of grandbabies, fun, and family!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Beveled Windowpanes and the Charming Stamp Set!

Beveled Windowpanes and the Charming Stamp Set!

Beveled windowpanes made their debut in the Occasions Mini Catalog and at first I had no idea what I would do with them, but after I saw them in person and used in many creative ways at Leadership I was excited to try them out! Basically they are a beveled rectangle of exremely CLEAR acrylic with slots on two sides so you can thread ribbon, twine, etc, through them to attach to a card, scrapbook page, or even to jewelry!

This sample I CASED from another demo on Stampin' Connection, but at the moment her name escapes me. I stamped the background words from the "Charming" stamp set in once-stamped-off Old Olive, then used a Cherry Cobbler & an Old Olive Marker direct-to-stamp for the flower image. The Beveled windowpane (the largest of the three sizes in the package) is held in pace with the ribbon wrapped around to the back side of the front card layers and a Mini Glue Dot hidden under each ribbon slot! I also used a Vanilla Ribbon Rosette that I colored with the same Cherry Cobbler Marker and then blotted the excess off with a paper towel It is attached with a Mini Glue Dot as well."wishes" is from the stamp set, "Fabulous Phrases".

Beveled charming

For the inside I "huffed" on the left-over ink on the flower stamp and managed to get TWO more stampings with the same inking! "wishing you happiness today and always" is from "Heard from the Heart"!

Beveled charming inside
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

These next two cards I CASED from Penny Thomas, a great lady I've had the honor of knowing thanks to Founder's Circle! Penny loves CAS (Clean And Simple)! Here I stamped the little bunny from "So Cute" to put behind the middle-sized Beveled Windowpane, and added pearls & "happy new baby" from "Family Phrases"! I sponged Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon for great co-ordination!

So cute
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

The inside I stamped with a phrase from the oldie-but-goodie, "Curvy Verses"! I love it that you can't mess up stamping these words, they are always "straight"! I punched them with the Decorative Label punch and then punched another in Blushing Bride, cut it into two pieces and STRETCHED my label!

So cute inside

The cupcake on this card is also from "So Cute", one of the sets you can get FREE right now with a $50 order!

Scrapbook Pages Are Just Big Cards!

Scrapbook Pages Are Just Big Cards!

I remember one time, not too long after I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, when I was worried about coming up with a cute scrapbook page for a hostess and one of my daughter's said, "Mom, a scrapbook page is just a giant card!" and she's right! Here's the perfect example of how that concept works! Here's the page I will be showing and gifting to my hostess, Lisa, next week, and the card everyone will make at her workshop that matches it! The guests can leave the card and use it as a card, or they can add it to their own page! This page and card uses the "Bring on the Cake" stamp set from the Occasions Mini and the "Build a Cupcake" punch! The colors are Poppy Parade and Baja Breeze with a little Daffodil Delight thrown in! The Designer Paper is from the Hostess Level 1 In-Color 6×6 Patterns Pack, all you need is a $150 order or party to get this FREE!

Bring on the Cake!

Bring on the Cake!

If you attend one of my workshops in March, you will get to make this card! I CASED this from one of my monthly swaps from January, and I don't have the creator's name anymore, but it is a fun card! We are using the Occasions Mini birthday set, "Bring on the Cake", with Baja Breeze Glass Glitter. We laid down a piece of Sticky Strip and sprinkled it with the glitter and gently pressed it down as the glass pieces can be a little "pointy"!The candles were punched out with the Build a Cupcake punch and attached with 2-way glue. The pedestal is punched with the Scallop Edge Border punch, which also provided the straight piece for the pedestal stand! We start with a 3/4" wide strip of Baja Breeze cardstock, then punch with the Scallop Edge punch. When we are done punching, the leftover straight strip of cardstock is perfect for the stand. I love it when one punching provides more than one element for the project! The pedestal base is half a 1 1/4" circle. The card colors are Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, and Daffodil Delight, and the designer paper layer is from the Hostess Level 1 In-Color Patterns Paper Pack!
