Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Washi Tape!

Stampin’ Up! Gingham Garden Washi Tape!

Good morning! How are you on the first day of summer? I thought I would share this bright and happy samples from the Gingham Garden Suite board in Fiji!

You know, if I hadn't taken so many pictures while in Fiji I would have a hard time believing I was actually there!  Now that I've been home a little more than  a month it seems like a dream! And that is exactly what it was, a DREAM VACATION!!!!

Washi tape 1

This first card has Gingham Garden Washi Tape layered onto a piece of scrap cardstock, then cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Big Shot! REALLY LOVE this idea!

Washi tape 2

This card has strips of Gingham Garden Designer Paper with Gingham Garden Washi Tape layered on top with a greeting from Kind & Cozy and a Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding bow! The addition of the Small Heart Punch embellishment is just perfect!

That's all for today! I have my monthly class with my Galatia Crafty Chicks today! FUN!

Enjoy your longest day of the year! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Square Lattice-Lattice Butterflies, An All-Occasion Card!

Stampin’ Up! Square Lattice-Lattice Butterflies, An All-Occasion Card!

Good Morning! I have another project for you today from my "SWOW" Class this afternoon, a card made with the Lattice Bigz Die, Window Frame Framelits, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder, Papillon Potpourri stamps, Bitty Butterfly Punch, and one of the "Grab Your Greetings 25% Off" sets this month, Sweet Essentials!
Lattice 1

I CASED this card from Rachel Tessman, who CASED it from a recent swap she received. CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) is a GOOD thing in the stamping world! Of course, I changed and added a few things of my own, such as the use of the Square Lattice folder, adding the "congratulations" word and banner, and using the Lattice Bigz Die inside the window.

Here's another version, with the Whisper White/Wild Wasabi layers flipped:
Lattice 7
This version uses the Little Leaves Sizzlet to cut the leafy branches inside the window, and instead of another layer of Wild Wasabi under the "congratulations" banner I added a tiny bow of Wild Wasabi 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon! I also added a larger butterfly with the same stamp set and the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

The inside is where the All-Occasion part comes in! We are going to stamp the word "happy" from Memorable Moments on the Whisper White layer inside the card, then we are going to stamp the word "birthday" and "anniversary" on Whisper White scraps and punch out with the Large Oval Punch, then layer onto Wild Wasabi-punched Scallop Ovals. These will have Stampin' Dimensionals attached but the final protective paper cover not removed until it's time for the card to be given, either as a birthday or anniversary card!

Lattice 3

Lattice 5

And here's a paper-saving butterfly tip! When you have a small amount of paper but need to stamp more butterflies, punch every other butterfly facing the opposite direction as shown below. You can squeeze more butteflies into a small space this way and still have room to punch them out! Easy-Peasy!

Stampin’Up! Countdown to the NEW Catalog Day #2!

Stampin’Up! Countdown to the NEW Catalog Day #2!

Good Morning! Now that I think about it a "countdown" starts at a higher number and counts DOWN to zero, and I'm counting up! Oh well, we all know that when we get to Friday, May 31st, we can order from the new catalog, and that's all that really matters, doesn't it?

Today's sample is a perfect blend of current and new! Lookie:

Dress up soho

The dress is cut from NEW Soho Subway Designer Paper, and the Blushing Bride (a returning In-Color that is now a CORE Subtles color!) strip behind the dress has been embossed with NEW Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder.

I LOVE how the creator (wish it was me but, alas, is not!) used the Designer Frames Folder and the Extra Large Oval punch with Silver Glimmer Paper to create the "mirror"!

Beautiful finishing touches: the "Pearl" necklace and the Blushing Bride flower punched with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches!

That's all for today! I've a LOOOOONG list of "to do's" to get done today before my stamp camp in West Frankfort at the GrandOArt Studio!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

All products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Just a few days left to order from the retired lists! Click on the "SHOP NOW" button in the upper left corner of this blog to go to my Online Store to place your order!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Fiji Swaps!

Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Fiji Swaps!

Good morning! I'm staying home from church this morning because although I now have the proper meds, at times I'm still coughing my head off, and I don't want annoy everyone around me and disturb the service. I'm hoping after a second day of antibiotics my system will start to turn this around. I am, however, VERY thankful to not have that crazy fever anymore!

Today's samples are more of the swaps pics from Fiji, this time a collection of them using the Secret Garden stamps and framelits. These pics are from the swap boards so I'm not entirely sure how they were all made as I didn't get a chance to "reverse engineer" them (this was a term my son used when my friend Meg & I were discussing how some of the swaps we received were  made as we sat by the pool one day. He said "reverse engineering" was bad in his world of Information Technology. We told him it's perfectly acceptable in the stamping world!)

Secret garden friend

This first swap has Epic Day designer paper for the background, then white embossed flowers that have been painted with inkpads and an Aquapainter. (I think!) There's also a Paper-Pierced Garden Green Window Framelit-cut layer peeking out from behind the flowers and leaves!

Secret garden ep

This one is a real beauty, but trying to reverse-engineer this one from a picture is a toughie! I'm pretty sure Pool Party or Tempting Turquoise and am almost positive Melon Mambo embossing powder was used, but I only "think" there was some bleach-stamping going on here as well!

What do you think?

Secret garden art

This last sample uses the "reinker spread" technique to get the flowing colors on these white-embossed blossoms. The greeting is from a catalog favorite of mine, Trust God, and the punch-out circle is framed by a Sahara Sand layer cut with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet!

That's all for today! Tomorrow is "Countdown Week to the New Catalog", and I will be sharing swaps made with new catalog products all week! I can't wait to show you some of the cool stuff we are getting!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Emboss Resist Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Emboss Resist Technique!

Good morning! Hope your day is going well! Today I'm working on my swap for the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation in Fiji! I will show it to you  before I leave, but today I have some more fun swaps to show you! This month's theme was "techniques", and everyone really outdid themselves. Today I am showing you a collection of samples using the "Emboss Resist" technique, so here we go!

Note: all products used are  ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated  otherwise.

Rhonda Bassler combined En Francais background with a white embossed and stamped-and-punched butterflies from Papillon Potpourri. She added a little sponged Calypso Coral to make the embossed butterflies "pop"!

Emboss Resist Rhonda Bassler p

I always love black & white with a splash of color, it's just so elegant! Tamie Ackerson white embossed the Sweet Floral background stamp on a Whisper White Top Note, then sponged Pool Party ink over the image for a gentle and soft look!

Emobss Resist Tamie Ackerson p

An finally for today, Mary Waring used lots of retiring colors (Pretty in Pink and Lucky Limeade) and product on her swap. She Clear-embossed one of the flowers from the Secret Garden stamp set on a Whisper White Top Note, then sponged Pretty In Pink ink over them. She used more stamps from the same set, clear-embossing again on white before cutting out with the Secret Garden Framelits and coloring with Rose Red ink. She finished off her card with Rose Red 1/2" Seam Binding (retiring) and a stamp from the Spring Special Bundle, A Round Array!

That's all for now! It's back to swap making for me! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #4!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Flowers #4!

Good morning! Hope you are having a good day! I am, or at least will once I get a little bit more awake! Spending time here on my blog with you all helps get me going!

Here's the final card I created for my "Best Of . . " class this weekend. I loved this little hydrangea stamp when it was a big stamp in the Hostess set a couple of years ago, and I love it even more now as a miniature of the original!

I did the "Stained Glass" technique for this card. Heat embossed the flower with White Embossing Powder on White Vellum cardstock, then flipped it over and colored the back side of the vellum with Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery Stampin' Write Markers. When you flip the vellum back over to the white embossed side the color shows through the frosty paper, giving it a soft and pretty look! I attached the vellum layer to the white layer underneath with 3 Glue Dots behind the colored areas of the flower so they don't show through.

Everything is cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits and the Big Shot. I dug out my long-neglected pack of Twitterpated Designer Paper for the color scheme of Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, & Whisper White! The greeting is from Friendly Phrases.

Inside I used Beautiful Birthday again, just like I did for this card HERE. I love the font and size of this stamp, it's perfect for a soft, feminine card like this one.

Well, now that I am awake, I need to get busy! Today's class starts at 1 p.m.!

See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!
