Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Emboss Resist Birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes Emboss Resist Birthday!

Hey there! Today I am sharing the second card I created with Dandelion Wishes and Broadway Birthday! This time I used a true Emboss Resist technique with white heat embossing and Sponge Brayers. I like the bolder look of the white embossing powder in contrast with the brayered Real Red and Blueberry Bushel inks!

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps1

After I brayered the colors over the embossed "fireworks", I rubbed over the piece with a kleenex to remove excess ink from the embossing. This helps make the white explosions really pop!

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps2

I also heat embossed the greeting from Broadway Birthday.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps3

These two sentiments are also from Broadway Birthday. I chose to leave the middle white, and I really like it!

This card is actually an easel-fold, but the wind was blowing when I was taking the pics and the ones of it standing as an easel were too blurry! So imagine, if you will, the "Hooray"" as the easel stop.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps4

I used the same emboss-resist technique on the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Dandelion Wishes and Broadway Birthday!

Hey there! I was in a patriotic mood when I created today's card. I wanted a "fireworks" effect, so I used Dandelion Wishes and Broadway Birthday:

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the "fireworks" first, heat embossed with clear powder, then colored the diagonal stripes with Stampin' Blends. I added tiny dots of liquid glue to the fireworks bursts, then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped the Broadway Birthday greeting and candles with Tuxedo Black ink, which is recommended to use with Stampin' Blends.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I created a little "pop-out" to add candles cut with Broadway Lights dies.

Stampin_up_dandelion_wishes_carolpaynestamps4

The pop-out is just a bit of folded card stock.

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop June Edition, Patriotic!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop June Edition, Patriotic!

Hey there! It's time for the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! yay! Our theme for June is Patriotic, and we have some absolutely fabulous projects to share with you this month!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Stella MacKay is still on an extended vacation in Europe after the Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to the Mediterranean, so if you are already on the hop you've probably come from Laura Milligan's blog, I'd Rather "Bee" Stampin'! If at any time you get off course or one of our links doesn't work, just refer to the blog hop list at the bottom of this post and you can keep going!

For my Patriotic Project I used the Stars Framelits, Swirly Scribbles Thinlets,  Labeler Alphabet, and the Confetti Stars Border Punch. I used the new Labeler Alphabet to stamp the letters for "God Bless America". We have the National Anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, but when I think of patriotism, I think of asking God to bless and lead our country.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I started with a star card base cut with Dapper Denim card stock and the largest Star Framelit. I cut a couple of swirling scribbles from Real Red card stock using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlet which I adhered to a Whisper White star cut with the next-smaller size Star Framelit with my Fine Tip Glue Pen. I trimmed the edges of the red swirls flush with the star with Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_labeler_alphabet_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I punched a bunch of Dapper Denim stars with the Confetti Stars Border Punch, then randomly added with Fine Tip Glue and a "tacky toothpick".

I cut a Silver Glimmer Paper star with the smallest Star Framelit, adding it to the front with a Stampin' Dimensional.

After stamping the letters for "God Bless America" with Dapper Denim ink I cut them all out with Paper Snips and added them with Glue Dots.

Are you wondering about my "tacky toothpick"? A "tacky toothpick" is a regular wooden toothpick that I put a small drop of Tombow Multipurpose Glue on one end, then allow to air-dry.

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_1

The dry glue stays "tacky", allowing you pick up tiny pieces of paper, add a bit of glue to the back, and place precisely on your project!

Stampin_up_tacky_toothpick_2

Inside I stamped a word from the new Thoughtful Banners set with Dapper Denim ink and added a few Read Red stars using my tacky toothpick again.

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop June Edition Home of the Brave!

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop June Edition Home of the Brave!

Hey there. Today is a good day! It's Father's Day, of course, which means all of our kids and grandkids will be here for lunch and the afternoon! Today is also the 15th, which means it's time for "Home of the Brave", the June edition of:

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

You may have arrived here from Stella's blog, StellarStamps.com I just love what Stella comes up with every month! Her style is simple but WOW! If you are just getting started, no worries! You can start here, hop through all 12 blogs, be inspired, then get busy creating something awesome of your own!

With the theme "Home of the Brave", I wanted to do something patriotic to commemorate our great Nation's birth. A card just didn't seem like enough, so I decided to use my new Star Framelits:

Stampin_up_star_framelits_1

I hand-snipped the ends of Night of Navy banners, then used four of the five star framelits for the stars.

Stampin_up_star_framelits_2

I embossed the Night of Navy banners with the Stylish Stripes folder, then cut Real Red Backgrounds Designer Paper with a Starburst Framelit.

Stampin_up_star_framelits_3

I cut Silver Glimmer paper for the largest stars, and punched the tiniest silver stars with the star punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack, which is still available through August 27th on the Carryover List!

Stampin_up_star_framelits_4

I used the alphabet stencils from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit to add the letters with Night of Navy ink. I'm so glad this kit is in the new catalog!

Each banner is assembled with either Stampin' Dimensionals or Glue Dots

Lastly, I covered regular clothespins with Real Red paper, cutting the strips 3/8" wide by 3 7/8" long and adhering with SNAIL.

I'm excited to decorate for the 4th with my new banner!
