Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Fun-Fold!

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Fun-Fold!

Hey there! Today I have the card I was unable to share during the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop due to my ongoing health problems with anxiety. Here's hoping a praying I have a string of good days ahead!

I created my fun-fold card with the Hey Chick bundle and one die from the Birthday Chick dies. I also used Flower & Field Sale-a-bration 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper. I colored my hen with Mango Melody, Poppy Parade, and Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_pop_up_carolpaynestamps1
Inside I added a 1" x 11" wide strip of Just Jade card stock scored at 2 1/4", 5 1/2", and 8 1/4", folded into a "W" and adhered to the inside of the card. I used various dies from both the Chick Dies and Birthday Chick Dies to embellish, cut from Just Jade, Bumblebee, and Whisper White.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_pop_up_carolpaynestamps3

I love all of these dies!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_pop_up_carolpaynestamps4

The sentiments are all from Hey Chick.

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Cookie Package Toppers!

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Cookie Package Toppers!

Hey there! I realized today that I hadn't shared with you the favor I handed out to everyone at Chicks & Chocolate a couple of weeks ago,  homemade chocolate chip cookies in cute Hey Chick packaging!

Stampinupheychickcarolpaynestamps5

My grand-daughter, Maddie Kate, who loves to bake, made the chocolate chip cookies. I put each one in a Gusseted Cellophane Bag, folded down the top, then clipped them closed with a clothespin decorated with chicks!

Stampinupheychickcarolpaynestamps6

Each chick, chicken, or hatching egg was heat embossed with white powder on Basic Black cardstock. I hand-cut them out with Paper Snips, which actually didn't take very long. I adhered each one to a hand-cut banner of Real Red Designer Series Paper with Stampin' Dimensionals, then added another hand-snipped banner stamped with a Hey Chick phrase.

Stampinupheychickcarolpaynestamps7

I attached the banners to the clothespins with Stampin' Dimensionals, and adhered the chicks and banners with dimensionals too. This was a quick and easy way to package the cookies and everyone loved both the cookies and the re-usable package clip!

The "Tina Turner" chick took a little bit more fussy-cutting than the others, but it was worth it!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday, so time for some swaps! yay!

I have just a few unshared Valentines, the first by Carol Slack using Falling Petals folder, Sweet & Sassy Framelits, Sealed with Love stamps, and Sending Love Designer Paper!

Stampin_up_sealed_with_love_carolpaynestamps1

Carol used the Double-Dutch fold, I forget about this one sometimes!

Stampin_up_sealed_with_love_carolpaynestamps3

Next, Jenna Raby used the Lift Me Up set with Sending Love Designer, Sweet & Sassy Framelits, and Up & Away Thinlets for her interlocking hearts creation:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps1

The final Valentine I sharing this year is by Lorraine Duran with the Falling Petals Folder, Sweet Heart Punch, and Sending Love Designer Paper:

Stampin_up_lift_me_up_carolpaynestamps4

I also have a few swaps using Sale-a-bration sets!

First, Rene Watson created a "Z-fold" with Hey Chick and the Hexagon Dynamic folder:

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps4

Wendy Lee also used Hey Chick, adding some small-but-effective details to make her card a true WOW!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps9

Beautiful watercoloring with an AquaPainter is just the beginning!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps3

Tone-on-tone monochromatic stamping and speckling with Gorgeous Grunge help make the details pop.

Wendy used the Fringe Scissors and a thin strip of Red Glimmer Paper for edge-interest, as well as used just a tiny bit of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, and Gold Metallic Thread to highlight the greeting!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps1

The final swap today arrived with no creator name, but is so pleasing, it's a shame. They combined So Very Much Sale-a-bration with Beautiful You to make a stylish statement with Whisper White, Melon Mambo, and Basic Black. The tiny flower was punched with the Tree Builder Punch!

That's all for today. We are celebrating three February family birthdays today, so I'm excited to have all of the family over!

Stampin_up_sale_a_bration_2017_carolpaynestamps

I created with the already-so-popular-stamp-set-it's-already-on-backorder, Hey Chick!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps1

I embossed the So Saffron layer with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which give a chicken-wire-ish look!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps2

After I stamped the hen with Early Espresso ink I colored her body lightly with a Basic Black Watercolor Pencil. I colored her feet and beak with a Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil, and her comb with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. I lightly scribbled some ground around her feet with an Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil.

After coloring I cut with a Layering Oval Framelit, then adhered to an Early Espresso scalloped oval.

Hey Chick!, which comes in wood-mount (includes coordinating wood blocks) or clear-mount (red rubber ready to attach to clear blocks) can be yours when you order at least $50 before tax & shipping in my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

Inside I stamped the crazy-headed chicken with Early Espresso and added a sentiment with Real Red ink.  I stamped the envelope flap with the Butterfly Basics chickenwire-looking image.

Stampin’ Up! Peekaboo Hey Chick Again!

Stampin’ Up! Peekaboo Hey Chick Again!

Hey there! In addition to the card I shared with you yesterday swapped by Joanne, she also demonstrated how to make it and then we all got to make one!

Of course, we did a different color combo and used punches instead of framelits to create the "peekaboo" holes!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps1

We stamped off the Smokey Slate ink on the "chicken wire" stamp from Butterfly Basics to go behind the Hey Chick images.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps2

Just like the peekaboo card I shared with you yesterday, when you open it, the middle panel pulls back to reveal the  innermost images.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps3

I love that little just-cracking egg!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps4

A little Clear Wink of Stella lends the perfect egg-y shimmer!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps5

Hey Chick is now available to choose as a Sale-a-bration freebie for every $50 you order!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Hey Chick Peekaboo Card!

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Hey Chick Peekaboo Card!

Hey there! The Occasions Catalog begins on January 4th, AND the Sale-a-bration Brochure does too! Today's project was created by a member of my Yes Mam!  Stampers team, Joanne Cantrell, for our swap this month with a SAB set, Hey Chick!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps1

Joanne used the "peekaboo " fold to create the hen house. She stamped the Smoky Slate card stock with the Hardwood Background and Smoky Slate ink.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps3

She used the Layering Squares Framelits for the window frames. Hey Chick contains three sassy chickens and three snappy greetings. She used the honeycomb stamp from Butterfly Basics for the "chicken wire" behind each frame.

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps2

It's almost impossible to verbally explain how to make this card, but let me just tell you it DOES take good spatial relations to do it!

Stampin_up_hey_chick_carolpaynestamps4

As you open the card the first layer slides back to reveal more fun!
