Stampin’Up! Holiday Home!

Stampin’Up! Holiday Home!

Hey there! It's Monday! I know many people hate Mondays, start dreading Monday morning on Sunday night, but I don't. I used to when I had a day-job, but since I became a full-time Stampin' Up! demo, Mondays are an exciting day for me! A whole new week to play with my stamps and accomplish things on both my "To Do" and "Want To" lists! Do you have a "Want To" list, or are all of your lists "To Do's"? Start a "Want To" list, make sure you accomplish one or two of them every week, and see if it doesn't help your outlook on Mondays!

Now that I'm off my advice-column soapbox, here's the Holiday Home card that we will be making at my Christmas Card Class this week:

If you are local (and even if you are not) you can participate in my September Christmas Card Class. Just contact me to let me know you are coming to class or want to place a minimum $35 order to receive the class kits by mail. You will receive the kits to make all three cards in this class, (today's Holiday Home card plus two more, two each of the three different designs for a total of SIX cards!)

Here's the supply list for today to place your order in my Online Store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Best of Snow Hot Chocolate Pouch!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Snow Hot Chocolate Pouch!

Hey there! We are back home from our visit with our Tennessee family, and today we will be celebrating with all of our kids and grandkids! God is good!

Today I have a Hot Chocolate Pouch design to show you I cased from a UK demo, Monica Gale:

Stampin_up_best_of_snow_1

I used her basic design to construct the pouch (even used the Envelope Punch Board for the corner rounding!), but of course changed some things up a bit by using the Best of Snow stamp in the focal image, adding Northern Flurry Textured Impressions embossing, and using one of the phrases from More Merry Messages punched with the Modern Label Punch!

I went to Walmart to get some candy canes for these pouches and was amazed to find there were no traditional-just-red-and-white candy canes to be had! There were some teeny-tiny ones, but the rest were all blue, purple, orange, & pink! I'm guess I'm a candy-cane purist, as I'm not crazy to have my candy canes in weird colors! I ended up with these that do have a brown and a green stripe (they are chocolate-mint!), but while I was in TN I hunted some more and found REAL candy canes at a Publix grocery store in Franklin, TN! yay! You will probably see them in some future projects (if I don't end up eating them all, they are BOB's brand, which are the BEST!)

Stampin_up_best_of_snow_2

I just love this stamp from Best of Snow! It's been so cold lately I wish it would just go ahead and snow and put some fluffy white stuff on the ground!

This is one of the projects you can choose to make at my Christmas Catch Up Customer Appreciation Open House on December 13th!

ETA 8/23/15: I've had TWO requests for the directions to make this project in the past week, so I am posting it here for you:

You can view the sale flyer HERE   as well as place your order! Don't forget to check out the Weekly Deals tab and the Clearance Rack too!

That's all for now! I just received a new batch of my monthly swaps, so come back tomorrow for a bunch of fun giftcard ideas for Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Stampin’ Up! What to Washi Week!

Good Morning! Happy Labor Day! Hope you are going to a picnic, ballgame, or some kind of fun, yummy gathering today! My church has held a Labor Day Picnic since before my husband was born, so that's where my bunch is headed today!

I've been playing with my Washi Tape again!

Washi tree 1

All week I will be featuring projects using Stampin' Up! Designer Washi Tape! We have four different designs, two in the Annual Catalog and two in the Holiday, so I'm excited to use them all for you this week!

I used Season of Style Designer Washi Tape with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, and Whisper White cardstock. After laying down the strips of washi tape on a Whisper White scrap I cut it with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L die to create my tree. I used the Modern Label to punch the tree trunk. I embossed the Old Olive layer with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder, then added Basic Jewel Rhinestones to the centers of the embossed snowflakes. I added several rhinestones, scatterning them all over the tree for a good dose of bling!

This was my first time using one of the Expressions Thinlets Dies, and I am impressed! I had done some research of how to get the best results with these dies, so tried the tip to put a layer of wax paper against the die before adding the cardstock. There are several tiny holes in the die, so after cutting with the Big Shot I was able to pop out the word quite easily! I left the wax paper in the die for future use.

My next challenge was how to attach this eensy-weensy, skinny little word to my project, so I tried applying  Tombow Multipurpose Glue to the back side of "Merry" with a toothpick:

Washi tree 6

As you can see I didn't glue the whole word, just the tops and bottoms of the letters and at the areas where the letters intersected. This was just enough adhesive to make the word attach without being goopy!

Washi tree 3

Inside the card I stamped the "christmas" word from Seasonal Sayings, then punched the left-over washi layer with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Merry Minis Punch Pack for the little trees.

Washi tree 5

I needed a piece of cardstock for the Pennant Builder Punch tree, so used a Baked Brown Sugar-punched Merry Minis tree! With just the trunk showing below the edge of the tree, it worked perfectly!

Washi tree 4

This will be one of the cards we make at my monthly Christmas Card Class this next Friday! Stamping seats are still available, so RSVP to me today!

All supplies to make this card can be found in my Online Store:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Hop on over there to order your Season of Style Washi Tape! A pack goes a long way, but you might want to order at least a couple because when the Holiday Catalog is over on January 2nd, it will be gone forever. You will probably want to pick up the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder or the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die and Petite Pennants Builder Punch too if you don't have them!

Remember, every $25 you order gets you "Bluesox Rewards" to earn tokens toward a free Stampin' Product!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Petite Pennant Trees!

Stampin’Up! Petite Pennant Trees!

I so apologize for this late post, but today I have been having my "Holiday Card Bonanza" at my house, and it's been pretty busy!

Pennant parade 1©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Today's card is one I am featuring as part of the Punch/Technique Club this month. I CASEd the general idea to punch cardstock and DSP with the smaller, smooth-edged Petite Pennants Builder Punch to create the darling little grove of Christmas trees from someone's blog, but I collected the idea ages ago and now I have no idea whose it was! If you know whose original idea this was, please let me know so I can give them credit!

Anyway, I punched Garden Green cardstock with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, then ran it through the Big Shot inside the skinny little hearts folder from the Adorning Accents Folder, then punched a bunch of trees from Garden Green, Certainly Celery, and Always Artichoke Designer Paper.

I embossed the Whisper White background with the Northern Flurry Folder, and added Basic Jewel Rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and the top of the Garden Green cardstock tree for some bling!

Can you guess what the tiny little red bow is from on the base of the tree? It's a very skinny-cut piece of Cherry Cobbler 3 1/2" Scallop Tulle!

I finished off the front with the Christmas collage phrase from Seasonal Sayings. You can purchase this whole set of 5 stamps or any of them individually until January 2nd.

Well, I guess I'm done for now. I have had just enough of a sliver of time between waves of stampers to pop a little bit of supper in the oven and type up this post!

I promise an earlier post tomorrow! Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!
