VIDEOS are coming, I'm just having serious upload issues right now with my internet. It's worse right now than better, even after upgrading my service, so please be patient with this aspect of the class. Thanks!

Stampin’ Up! Little Letters Spell JOY!

Stampin’ Up! Little Letters Spell JOY!

Hey there! This card was a favorite at my Christmas in July Class this past weekend. It's pretty a pretty simple card, made easier when you use the Magnetic Platform with the Big Shot to cut out the letters:

Stampin_up_little_letters_1

We used the tiny little pinecone sprig from the perennial favorite Lovely As a Tree on the outside and the lone pine tree and Christmas Messages  on the inside:

Stampin_up_more_merry_messages

That's all for now. I'm hoping to go to Alisa's later today to sew a bit. We have been planning some projects for Christmas that we need to get started on!

Here's the supply list for today's card. You can shop for your supplies HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! As promised, I have swaps to share today! Let's get started:

Stampin_up_tap_tap_tap

First, a brand-new set called Tap, Tap, Tap. The Hardwood background was stamped on all five cardstock strips to give it a "paneling" look.

Stampin_up_wetlands_1

Next, color was sponged on the background, the Wetlands goose was stamped, then framed with "Polaroid" mat cut with the On Frame framelit dies.

Stampin_up_lovely_as_a_tree

Lastly, the oldie-but-goodie set, Lovely As a Tree was given a fresh look with the "split negative" technique. DID YOU KNOW? Lovely As a Tree has been in the Stampin' Up! catalog for over TWELVE years? It is the longest-sold stamp set ever! I've been a demo for 11 years, but it has been with Stampin' Up! longer than I have! This card combines Lovely As a Tree, Hardwood Background, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, and a bit of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape. Perfect!

That's all for now. Enjoy your Sunday! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Serene Silhouettes Snowstorm!

Stampin’Up! Serene Silhouettes Snowstorm!

Hey there! I had such a very positive response to yesterday's card using Serene Silhouettes I decided to create another card using this set using an idea that has been rolling around in my head for quite awhile:

Stampin_up_serene_silhouettes_snow_1

I combined Serene Silhouettes with Lovely as a Tree and a phrase from More Merry Messages. I stamped the birds on the branch with Jet Black StazOn ink on a strip of Crumb Cake 2" x 4", then used my Paper Snips to hand-cut the tag corners. I layered this on a piece of 2 1/8" x 4 1/8" Always Artichoke that I also sponged with Always Artichoke ink. I used the Crumb Cake tag corners as my guide to cut the Always Artichoke tag corners.

Stampin_up_serene_silhouettes_snow_2

To achieve the "snowstorm" look: after stamping the Lovely as a Tree images with Always Artichoke ink (the bare trees in the background were stamped-off once before stamping on the card base), I used the finest splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to stamp both the card base and the birdie tag first with Smoky Slate ink, cleaned my stamp, then stamped the same image over all with Whisper White Craft ink. I think the two colors layered over each other does give depth to the "storm", yes?

All edges were sponged with first Always Artichoke ink and then Whisper White Craft.

The Always Artichoke bow is actually Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Taffeta ribbon that I custom-dyed by laying the ribbon directly on the Always Artichoke inkpad and sponging. I rubbed the ribbon with a paper towel to remove as much excess ink as I could before tying the bow. It is adhered to the top of the birdie tag with Glue Dots.

I stamped the "merry christmas" phrase from More Merry Messages with Jet Black Staz On on Crumb Cake, then punched with the Modern Label punch. I then sponged it with both Always Artichoke and Whisper White, then rubbed the edges of the piece directly on the Always Artichoke pad for more definition. It is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For my finishing touch I added Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the birdies, leaving the card flat to allow time for the "glitter glue" to dry.

Stampin_up_serene_silhouettes_snow_3
Inside is stamped with the same Lovely as a Tree images and sponged with the same inks as the outside.

The inner phrase is from Christmas Messages, stamped with Jet Black StazOn ink.

Stampin’Up! Sunday Swap Day Snowflakes!

For my Sunday Swap Day I decided to share with you some of the cute cards I have received as swaps featuring snowflakes!

Jan rodrian 2
Jan Rodrian used the Circle Thinlet Card Die, Winter Frost Designer Paper, a snowflake from the Snowflake Soiree set (on the Holiday Catalog Carryover List), and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel!

Jan rodrian 1
When you open and "flip" the card you see the "merry" and more snowflakes from Snowflake Soiree, along with a phrase from another Carryover set, More Merry Messages!

Megan daves 1
Meg Daves also used the Circle Card Thinlet Die and Winter Frost Designer Paper, adding a current Holiday Catalog snowflake from the Festive Flurry set which she cut out with a coordinating Festive Flurry Framelit!

Megan daves p
Meg finished her "flip" side with a phrase from the Holiday Catalog set, Christms Messages.

Tamie ackerson 1
Tamie Ackerson combined the Christmas Collectibles stamp & punch with the tried-and-true Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder and the new Stylish Stripes Folder. The "hanger" for the ornament is the new 1/8" Silver ribbon.

Tamie ackerson 2
Tamie stamped the inside of her card with one of the four fun greetings in the Joy to the World set.

Karen kurz 1
Karen Kurz white heat-embossed the cute little Snow Day snowman on Coastal Cabana cardstock, then stamped the snowflakes from the same set to complement the Winter Frost Designer Specialty Paper.

Karen kurz 2
Circle Thinlet Cards are really hot right now, and a fun feature of the die is the ability to add an extra flap, which Karen did for hers. She used a phrase from Petite Pairs to finish this card off just right!

Cathy stephenson 1
Last but definitely not least, Cathy Stephenson used the "dryer sheet" technique to add the look of snow over her stamped "Lovely As a Tree" trees.

Cathy stephenson 2 p
"Merry Christmas" from More Merry Messages says it all.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

More Downline Meeting Shares!

More Downline Meeting Shares!

Cathy Hewlett, Linda's 1st level downline and my 2nd level,  always brings a bunch of fun samples to share to our meeting, it was hard to pick just a few to show you, so here are several! Cathy holds a Technique Class at her home every month, featuring fun and different stamping techniques. I will try to tell you which technique these are if I can!

For this first card Cathy used the "Countryside" stamp set from page 115 of the Big Catalog, painted with White Craft ink and an Aquapainter to achieve the worn, old look! "wish big" is from "Short & Sweet" on page 148.

Cathy
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

In this next sample with the "Eastern Blooms" set from page 112, Cathy used one of the "Clear Mount Blocks" found on page 192 to stamp the background square!

Cathy 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Cathy used the "Burned Batik" techniqe with "Baroque Motifs" stamp set on page 132 to create this feminine card.

Cathy 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Occasions Mini "Bring on the Cake" stamp set was paired with the "Sweet Buttons" Embosslit to make this quick and simple birthday card! The "happy birthday" was stamped and colored with Stampin' Write Markers on the Daffodil Delight cardstock before running it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder!

Cathy 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Cathy used the "Inspired by Nature" set from page 104 of the Big Catalog to make this gorgeously stamped-on-vellum card! The butterfly is from "Great Friend" on page 122!

Cathy 5
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

A masking and a brayering technique wer used on this card using the oldie-but-goodie favorite, "Lovely as a Tree" from page 114!

Cathy 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2011

Easter is late this year, but it's not too soon to be thinking about getting ready! Cathy used a masking technique again to stack these adorable little chicks from "A Good Egg" on page 48! She also added a little shadowing around each one with her Aquapainter and Basic Gray ink!
