Stampin’ Up! Wetlands!

Stampin’ Up! Wetlands!

Good morning! Yesterday was a CRAZY day! A crazy but extremely fun day! During the course of the day I cared for all of my grandchildren except one, with 5 of the 6 at my house for the evening at the same time! Maddie Kate (who is 12), was the only one I didn't see today. Ava (who just turned 8 on Monday) was INVALUABLE help, let me tell ya! We had three babies needing diaper changes at just about the same time, so between Ava and my sweet hubby helping, we survived! Liam goes home with his mommy today around noon, and then we go to Ava's family birthday party tonight! After my classes on Saturday I think I need to have a collapse scheduled, but it may have to wait until Sunday afternoon. As long as it is accompanied by a nap, I think I can make it!

Understandably I did no new stamping yesterday, so I am relying on my collection of convention swaps to fill in the gap today, and I've a nice collection of Wetlands swaps for you today!

This first swap is by Deb McCahan. I believe Deb combined brayering and sponging to get this great sunset look! I have to confess when I first saw this set in the new catalog this set didn't particularly appeal to me because of the goose image, but it didn't take long for these little shorebirds to win me over, not to mention the great greetings this set has to offer.

Kathy Johnson went simple and masculine with the Canada goose image in this set.

This swap has no name, which is a shame, because it's a good one! The creator combined By the Tide images with Wetlands to make a really well-done thinking of you card.

Wetlands by the tide

Last but definitely not least, Teresa Howe created this beauty by markering on a clear stamp block, spritzing with water, then stamping on the background layer to create the soft, watery look! The greeting is from the Express Yourself Hostess set.

Well, that's all for today! I have to finish up by classes for tomorrow, so I need to get going!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sparkly Window Sheet & Brayer Tapping!

Stampin’ Up! Sparkly Window Sheet & Brayer Tapping!

Good morning! I'm getting really excited! Just two more sleeps before I leave for Fiji! I can't wait! My first trip out of the country where I will actually SLEEP on foreign soil! (well, I guess I have slept in Canada, but it was years ago when I was on vacation with my parents, and Canada is just the "Northern Version" of America, so it hardly counts as foreign!)I'm not packed yet, but am a bit worried how I'm going to get everything stuffed into one suitcase with a 50 lb limit and one 15 lb. carryon! The airline is allowing one free checked back under 50 lbs, but another bag will cost $5 per pound! Yikes! Stampin' Up! always gives us great pillow gifts, so I am packing an extra medium-sized duffle to check going home just in case!

I know you didn't come here to learn about my travel packing woes, you came here to see some fun projects, and I don't think you will be disappointed!

Please note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

First up, a cute masculine card created by Kathy Stephenson using a technique she calls "brayer tapping" with the Dapper Dad stamp set!

The wedding card created bySherri Beyrer using a Window Sheet, Creped Filter Paper, and Shimmer Paint with the Love & Laughter and Mr & Mrs stamp sets:

This card is even more sparkly, iridescent, and shimmery in real life than the picture can show! I love it!

Well, that's all for today! I have my "Best of" class here at my house this afternoon, then I must finish the preparations for the Fundraiser/Vendor Fair at the Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL for tomorrow!

Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Brayered French Foliage!

Stampin’ Up! Brayered French Foliage!

As I promised some time ago, here is the second technique we used at my "Wonderfall" card bonanza with the "French Foliage Stamp set:

©Stampin' Up!™1990-2012

This is a CASE of another Founcer's Circle swap. The theme was easy, two-layer workshop-ready cards and they were really great!

To create this card:

Cut 4 strips of scrap paper 5 1/4" x 1". Put 2-way glue on the backside and allow glue to air-dry to Post-It-Note consistency. After glue is dry, lay first two strips along edges of layer to be stamped on, lining up outer edges of strips with edges of layer:

French foliage 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Add last two strips along top and bottom of layer as shown, lining up outer edges of of strips with outer edges of layer:

French foliage 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Ink brayer in color of choice (for this sample I used Always Artichoke). Roll brayer over cardstock layer in the open area left inside the scrap paper strips. Roll brayer back and forth, over edges of scrap paper, adding more ink to brayer as needed. You will probably need to brayer up and down, then back and forth to get smooth, even coverage.

French foliage 5
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

When you are done with the brayer, remove the scrap paper strips to reveal the inked rectangle. Stamp desired images on this inked area. I used the leaf stamps from "French Foliage" in Early Espresso ink, then added the "splat" image from "French Foliage" with more Always Artichoke ink. The "gratitude" phrase is from "Day of Gratitude" stamp set.

You really can't see it in the photo, but I finished off this card with a light spritzing of shimmer spray I created by mixing 91% rubbing alcohol with the "Gold Glimmer" Smooch Spritz in a travel-size spray bottle!

All of these stamps used are on sale 15% off on Monday, October 29!

Stampin’ Up! Techniques Class and Baby Liam has arrived!

For those of you that are following the progress of the arrival of my newest grandson, I am happy to report he has arrived safely:

Liam label
and here is our little man!

Liam in the nursery
and up close with Mommy Kimberly:

Kimmy & liam
I think they BOTH look pretty good after almost 24 hours of labor and then a c-section! Mother & baby are both doing very well. They won't come home until sometime Sunday, so I have a chance to catch up on my sleep before I get to stay with them all next week to help out! I can't wait! Our whole family is rejoicing together for this wonderful gift from God!

While we were waiting for Liam's arrival during the loooong day yesterday, I did manage to get the pictures edited for the Technique side of the Punch/Technique Class next Saturday at my house (and the Punch/Technique Class in Galatia on Tuesday August 14th!):

Custom Color Designer Paper with the brayer:
