Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You for Maddie Kate’s Graduation!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You for Maddie Kate’s Graduation!

Last night my oldest grand-daughter, Maddie Kate, graduated from High School. How did that happen so fast? It seems like just a few years ago she was just a little baby! Time sure does fly!

We gave her a single pearl necklace to celebrate the occasion, and I created this card to go with it using the Beautiful You stamp set:

Stampin_up_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps1

I created the tassel with black baker's twine and achieved a Merry Merlot dress color by coloring first with Bronze and then Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends:m

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day December 9th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day December 9th!

Hey there! It's Sunday and time for Sunday Swap Day! Yay!

Today's swaps are all from the Stampin' Up! OnStage in Orlando last month.

First a pretty snowy adaptation of the dancing girl from Beautiful You! Did you ever think Mrs. Clause was ever this young and thin? Me either, but just like the rest of us, she was!

ETA: Jennie Portonova is the creator of this card.

After a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend Marker colored her dress, the background was embossed the the Softly Falling Textured Impressions folder. The finishing touch is the white embossing paste added to create the fur trim! The greeting is from the retiring Holiday Catalog set, Making Christmas Bright.

Stampin_up_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps1

The creator of this lovely card heat embossed the greeting from Merry Christmas to All with white powder on the Basic Black Stitched Label for a "chalkboard" look. The pinecones were cut with a Pretty Pines Thinlet and held together with a bow of 1/4" Copper Trim.

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_carolpaynestamps1

The Winter Woods Bundle was used to create this lovely gem. The tree is accented with Shimmery White Embossing Paste and Red Rhinestones add extra sparkle. The greeting is from Star of Light. Winter Woods stamps and Into the Woods Thinlets are not retiring, but the bundle of both together is!

Finally, a quick card using carrying-over Wishing You Well with retiring Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day May 6th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day May 6th!

Hey there! It's time again for Sunday Swap Day! yay!

Today I have an eclectic group of cards to share, but they all have one thing in common: happiness!

First, Kathy Morgan used the Amazing Congratulations set, which is carrying over to the new catalog, with Marina Mist and Night of Navy to create a card that could be used for a birthday, graduation, retirement, or any happy occasion! She used her Stamparatus, available to order when the new catalog goes live on June 1st!

Stampin_up_amazing_congratulation_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Karen Kurze used Beautiful Day for her bright and happy card:

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps1

Carol Slack combined the soon retiring Blooms & Wishes with the Celebrate You Thinlets. She used the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and a color palette of Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White. She also added Clear Wink of Stella to the "celebrate" greeting.

Stampin_up_blooms_and_wishes_carolpaynestamps1

Ruth Bingle created a fun shaker card with the Picture Perfect Birthday set, Berry Burst, and the soon retiring Sweet Sugarplum! I will be CASEing this one with current colors soon!

Stampin_up_picture_perfect_birthday_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Cathy Miller used the carrying over Southern Serenade for her soothing swap.

Stampin_up_southern_serenade_carolpaynestamps1

In case you are wondering what I mean by "retiring" and "carrying over":

Retiring means it is leaving the Stampin' Up! product line and will no longer be available to order after May 31st.

Carrying Over means it will be available to order from the new Annual Catalog, which goes live on June 1st.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Year in Review!

Hey there! It's the last day of 2017! How fast time flies whether you're having fun or not! I would have to say 2017 has been a good year for me, filled with lots of fun with family, a couple of great trips with my hubby for our 40th wedding anniversary, and of course, fun stamping! I reached my 15 year anniversary as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator this year too, and am happy to say that I feel like I am still growing in my stamping style as well as growing my business!

I thought today would be a good opportunity to share some of my favorite cards created in 2017. I'm going back all the way to January, so this post will be long!

To start off, here's a card I created in January using the Cool Treats set. I love that Stampin' Up keeps giving us fun images and coordinating dies to make cutting them out a breeze!

Note: the stamps and dies are still available to order, but the designer paper is not (sad face) See the supplies list at the bottom of this post for links to my online store for the supplies you can order!

Here's the link to the original post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/01/stampin-up-cool-treats.html

Next is a card I've been enjoying sending every month of 2017 with our monthly share as members of Samaritan Ministries. It's fun to create flat cards sometimes. I tend to be a "lots of layers girl", so it's a fun challenge to create something flat and beautiful that will go through the mail without extra postage or fuss!

Here's the link to the Sheltering Tree card: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/02/stampin-up-sheltering-tree-for-samaritan-ministries.html

Note: I do not receive any compensation for the link provided to the Samaritan Ministries website. It is an organization I believe in, and if you are searching for an alternative to crippling health insurance premiums, check them out.

6a00e54f70aa80883301bb09772b4e970d-450wi

High Tide is a beautiful set that is so versatile: masculine, birthdays, sympathy, thinking of you, for anyone! I created this easel calendar in February 2017 and am happy to report that with the exception of the cording used, all is still in my store!

The link to the original post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/02/stampin-up-high-tide-calendar.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d261594e970c-450wi

I loved the flat (mostly!) card I created for my mother-in-law's 89th birthday with the Big on Birthdays set. Here's the link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/03/stampin-up-big-on-birthdays-for-dolores.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d26f7fa6970c-450wi

I really enjoyed creating with the Flourishing Phrases and Timeless Textures sets for this card I posted in April. The embossing folder and the sparkly embellishment are retired, but the stamps are not! Here's the post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/04/stampin-up-flourishing-phrases-kissing.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b7c8ec2026970b-450wi

Daisy Delight and the Daisy Punch were INSTANT HITS in the new Annual Catalog! Stampin' Up! has never sold so many of the same punch, EVER, and the punch spent many days on the backorder list. Happily, this set and punch are still available, separately and as a BUNDLE to save you 10%! Post link: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/05/stampin-up-daisy-delight.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d27e1e96970c-450wi

Beautiful You is a set from last year's Occasions Catalog that carried over to the Annual. After reviewing this post and the ones after it, I need to get this set out and play again!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d28087b9970c-450wi

Did you know you can choose Host Sets as part of your Stampin' Rewards when you place an order of at least $150? You can! Tranquil Tulips is still available as a Host-Only set and uses only $10 of your Stampin' Rewards! I paired it on this card with the Label Me Pretty stamp set and Pretty Label Punch Bundle. Reviewing these cards are making me itch to play!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d284764f970c-450wi

I used the Birthday Memories Suite on pages 68-69 of the Annual Catalog to create this "Golden Book" card. The images and designs in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper are so reminiscent of my childhood! Here's the link to the blog post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/06/stampin-up-birthday-delivery-little-golden-book.html

6a00e54f70aa80883301b7c8ffae47970b-450wi

With Valentine's Day right around the corner it's always a good idea to be thinking about the stamps you already have that you can use for a valentine. Lots of Love is one of those stamp sets. Here's a card I made in June that I just might have to CASE for February 14! Check out the blog post here to see what I really mean!

6a00e54f70aa80883301b8d28e565c970c-450wi

Finally for today, a Christmas card I created back in June with the Annual Catalog set, Merry Mistletoe. Although Christmas was only last Monday, it's never too early to start your Christmas cards. Here's the link for the full post: http://www.carolpaynestamps.com/2017/06/stampin-up-merry-mistletoe.html

Stampin’ Up! Swanky Beautiful You!

Stampin’ Up! Swanky Beautiful You!

Hey there! Does anyone use the word "swanky" anymore? When I was growing up, it meant "dressed-up, glamorous, sophisticated", which is what I thought when I created this card with the "swanky" lady from Beautiful You! I used retiring Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper and Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape to enhance the "swanky" look!

Stampin_up_swanky_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps1

I used Layering Squares Framelits to create the "pull-out window".

I stamped her "swanky"dress on a Pop of Pink Designer print, cut with Paper Snips, then adhered over the "swanky" lady I had stamped on Whisper White.

A bit of Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape on a Whisper White scrap was stamped with the "swanky" hat with Basic Black ink, cut with Paper Snips, then adhered.

Stampin_up_swanky_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped the greeting on a 3/4" x 3" Whisper White strip, hand cut banner points with Paper Snips. New Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots add to the "swanky" look!

Stampin_up_swanky_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped Stylized Birthday with Basic Black on 6" x 5" Whisper White,  scored at 2", 4", and 5 5/8. The 5 5/8" scored line is behind the "swanky" lady square,  attached to the inside of the card front with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Stampin_up_swanky_beautiful_you_carolpaynestamps4

I finished off the inside with Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape and the Beautiful You "in style" phrase.

I stamped the greeting on a 3/4" x 3" Whisper White strip, hand cut banner points with Paper Snips. New Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots add to the "swanky" look!

I stamped Stylized Birthday with Basic Black on 6" x 5" Whisper White,  scored at 2", 4", and 5 5/8. The 5 5/8" scored line is behind the "swanky" lady square,  attached to the inside of the card front with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

I finished off the inside with Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape and the Beautiful You "in style" phrase.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Hope!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Hope!

Hey there! While I've been playing with Beautiful You and the Sunshine Wishes Thinlets, I created this card with the umbrella girl:

After stamping the girl with Basic Gray ink on Watercolor Paper, I masked her with a cut out Post-it Note and then stamped the "rain" with a Gorgeous Grunge image and Pool Party ink. I stamped the grass with Pear Pizzazz, then spritzed with water.

After letting the inks run and dry I then stamped the girl's dress and her umbrella on some bits of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper, cut them out, then adhered with a bit of Liquid Glue.

I cut "hope" with a Sunshine Wishes Thinlet from both Basic Gray and Soft Sky to get a shadow effect.

Inside I stamped a phrase from Beautiful You and the grass from High Tide.
