Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, which means church and time to share some swaps! yay!

Most of today's swaps I received at OnStage Live in Salt Lake City in April, and unless I note the creator, I don't know who they are.

First, a bright and cheery creation using the Occasions Catalog set, Apple of My Eye. It's hard to see in the picture, but each fruit slice has been embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (which has now sold out from the Retiring List)

Next, a combination of Whisper White, Mint Macaron, a Bold Butterfly and Butterflies Framelit, and the retiring Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and And Many More stamp set:

Stampin_up_and_many_more

This swap using the Wild About Flowers set, Brick Wall folder, and Greatest Greeting set are ALL carrying over to the new catalog! yay!

Finally, Carol Slack used the Sassy Salutations set with the Confetti Textured Impressions Folder along with a bit of Punch Art for her graduation card:

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations1

Carol used the streamer image from Celebrate Today to create the graduation tassel. She attached it to the grad cap with a retiring Silver 1/8" brad.

Inside Carol used a phrase from the retiring Fabulous Four set:

Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection!

Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection!

Hey there! At OnStage last month they introduced so many new trends and ideas. One trend, it's actually an old trend becoming new again, is COPPER. I dug out my old copper embossing powder to create today's card with Love & Affection stamps and Affectionately Yours Designer Specialty Paper. NOTE: if you have left-over copper powder from years ago, give it a try! I'd heard that embossing powder gets stale after a few years, but mine, which has been sitting on the shelf for at least five years, STILL WORKED! I embossed a sample with old powder and one with new powder and they looked identical!

Stampin_up_love_and_affection_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I also used a new-to-me layout, the Diagonal Slash. I started with a 4" x 4 3/4" piece of the Affectionately Yours paper, cut it diagonally with my Paper Trimmer, and then layered it on a 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White background with SNAIL. Then I was able to stamp the greeting from Love & Affection with Night of Navy ink and emboss the flowers with copper powder.

Stampin_up_love_and_affection_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

The Affectionately Yours paper has two sheets  embossed with copper and are one-sided so you don't have to anguish over which gorgeous side to use! I stamped and embossed Watermelon Wonder card stock with Watermelon Wonder ink and copper powder before punching with the Pansy Punch to add the flower that coordinates perfectly with the designer paper!

Stampin_up_love_and_affection_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Inside I stamped another phrase from Love & Affection with Night of Navy ink and embossed more flower sprays with copper. I added a couple of little strips of Love & Affection Designer Washi Tape to bring in a little more color.

The Retiring List still has lots of good deals left! Check it out in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! I am scheduling this post on Saturday night so I don't have to think about it in the morning. I'm trying to make my Sundays be more of a day of rest, so from now on, if I don't have my blog post done on Saturday night, it's not happening.

Short & sweet, here are the swaps I want to share with you today!

First, a card by Martha Swift with the Grateful Bunch set:

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_martha_swift1

The inside is a pretty as the front!

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_martha_swift4

Next, Tina Biby combined Flower Shop and Friendly Wishes with the embossed resist/brayer techniques!

Stampin_up_flowe_shop_tina_biby1

Inside she used another bloom from Flower Shop and another sentiment from Friendly Wishes!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_tina_biby3

This swap with In the Meadow and the Corner Fold technique arrived nameless, which is too bad, because it is beautifully done!

Stampin_up_in_the_meadow1

The deer, trees, and grass are all stamped in black on watercolor paper, then expertly water colored. The fawns spots and the ears and tails are highlighted with the retiring white gel pen.

Stampin_up_in_the_meadw3

Raedean Shibata used retiring-but-still-gorgeous Timeless Elegance Designer Paper with Rose Wonder stamps and Rose Garden framelits to create a special wedding card:

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_raedean_shibata1

The custom-envelope is part of the card!

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_raedean_shibata2

Finally, Cindy Ewertz combined Botanical Garden Designer Paper, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, and a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with a greeting from Watercolor Words for her creation:

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop, Wedding Dreams!

GV Blog Header
Hey there!

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for March. This month's theme is Wedding Dreams. We're sure you will find some incredible inspiration from the projects that you are about to see!
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Carol Payne,  or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects!
For my project I decided to use a Whisper White Note Card and Envelope for my base to create this actually quick and easy wedding card, perfect to add to a gift or to just tuck in cash, gift card, or a check!
Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps_1 - Copy
I kept a neutral color scheme, adding only Tip Top Taupe inks and accessories for an elegant look!
Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy
After layering Tip Top Taupe on the base, I heat-embossed a layer of Shimmery White multiple times using a rose stamp from Picture Perfect and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy
I stamped a greeting from Big News with Tip Top Taupe, rubbed the inked greeting with my embossing buddy, then stamped and embossed a single rose with Iridescent Ice over part of the word, making that area of the greeting darker. I cut it with a Lots of Labels framelit, then drew around outside of the same framelit with a pencil to hand-cut the Tip Top Taupe mat. This was added over the Tip Top Taupe 1" Dotted Lace Trim with a Stampin' Dimensional in each corner. Adding a Tip Top Taupe In Color Blossom Accent with a glue dot was the perfect finishing touch!
Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps_4 - Copy
Inside I continued the embossed-rose theme, and stamped the companion sentiment from Big News.
Stampin_up_big_news_carolpaynestamps_5 - Copy
I lined the envelope with a lovely script design from the Neutrals Color Collection Designer Paper Stack.
If you would like to place an order you are welcome to do so in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss any of it! Remember,  currently you are at my blog – Carol Payne, so check the blog hop line up list below to see who you are visiting next!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday morning, which means it's time for Sunday Swap Day! yay! Sundays are the day I post a collection of swaps or cards I have received.

First, Barbara Dykhouse used Birthday Blooms with Birthday Bouquet  Designer Paper for her cheerfully feminine creation. She used Whisper White and Blushing Bride card stock to pull the colors from the designer paper, punching an Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower from Calypso Coral card stock and adding a Pearl Basic Jewel to finish it off!

Birthday blooms

I have started an #imbringingbirthdaysback initiative to send more hand-stamped birthday cards to family and friends. I sent Kristy Davis a birthday card in January, and she sent me this thank-you card in return! Sooooo cute! Snoopy is my fav! Not much Stampin' Up! on this card, but I love it none the less!

Snoopy

NOTE: If you would like to receive a birthday card from me this year, just leave your name, birth date, and snail mail address in the comment section and you will be on my list!

Finally for today, I received this excellent card in the monthly swap a few months ago. Unfortunately, I have lost the creator's name, but it's a good one! The Open Sea was combined with a sentiment from Guy Greetings and Typeset Designer Series Paper. A GREAT masculine card!
