Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, which means church and time to share some swaps! yay!

Most of today's swaps I received at OnStage Live in Salt Lake City in April, and unless I note the creator, I don't know who they are.

First, a bright and cheery creation using the Occasions Catalog set, Apple of My Eye. It's hard to see in the picture, but each fruit slice has been embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (which has now sold out from the Retiring List)

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye

Next, a combination of Whisper White, Mint Macaron, a Bold Butterfly and Butterflies Framelit, and the retiring Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and And Many More stamp set:

Stampin_up_and_many_more

This swap using the Wild About Flowers set, Brick Wall folder, and Greatest Greeting set are ALL carrying over to the new catalog! yay!

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers

Finally, Carol Slack used the Sassy Salutations set with the Confetti Textured Impressions Folder along with a bit of Punch Art for her graduation card:

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations1

Carol used the streamer image from Celebrate Today to create the graduation tassel. She attached it to the grad cap with a retiring Silver 1/8" brad.

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations_2

Inside Carol used a phrase from the retiring Fabulous Four set:

Stampin_up_fabulous_four

Stampin’ Up!, Apple of My Eye Pocket Card!

Stampin’ Up!, Apple of My Eye Pocket Card!

Hey there! I'm back again today with another pocket card. You really didn't think I could make just one, did you? These cards are like potato chips! Plus, they had a grapefruit melon flavor of gum sitting beside the birthday cake gum, so I had to make this one to match it!

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_carolpayestamps_1 - Copy

I used Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper again, this time brayering with Watermelon Wonder Classic ink, and stamped with  Apple of My Eye. I used Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder, and Whisper White for my color palette.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

After stamping the "grapefruit" I punched it with a 1 3/4" Circle Punch, then layered on a Watermelon Wonder 2" Circle, and finally layering on a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle.

I tied it up with the Watemelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

I love this one almost as much as the Party Wishes one I showed you yesterday!

Stampin’ Up! Apple of My Eye Baby Wipe Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Apple of My Eye Baby Wipe Technique!

Hey there! When I was playing with the Apple of My Eye and That Thing You Did stamp sets, I decided to try the baby wipe technique with the citrus stamp:

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_1 - Copy

If you aren't familiar with the baby wipe technique, here's a quick little description:

  1. Fold a baby wipe into an ink pad shape on a non-porous surface, like a disposable plastic plate. (I use an inexpensive baby wipe that doesn't have much of a design embossed on it)
  2. Using an ink pad reinker, put drops of ink directly on the baby wipe. For my card today I started with drops of Daffodil Delight. I spaced the drops apart so as they reacted with the moisture in the baby wipe they would bleed toward each other.
  3. Add drops of other colors in between and around the first ink drops, allowing the colors to bleed into each other. For my card I used Tangerine Tango for my second color.
  4. Use this "custom" inkpad to ink your stamp.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

I used my Circles Collection Framelits to cut the citus shapes. I hand-cut the banner ends with my Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_baby_wipe_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

Sentiments from That Thing You Did and a Gold Glimmer star punched with an Itty Bitty Accents Punch  are the finishing touches!

This card easily fits into a Medium Whisper White envelope!

Stampin’ Up! That Thing You Did for Bringing Birthdays Back!

Stampin’ Up! That Thing You Did for Bringing Birthdays Back!

Hey there! I intended to get my blog post up earlier today, but I made a big mistake. My laptop has been bugging me to update to Windows 10 "for free" for several months now, and I've avoided it as long as I could. Saturday night I decided to take the plunge and downloaded the update during the night, then while Troy was here yesterday afternoon I installed it in case there were problems. All seemed to go well, until this morning when I uploaded my first new pictures from my camera since the update. It was a nightmare. I use an older camera with a little SD card. Apparently it holds A LOT of pictures, because, even though I'm using the same laptop that has ALL of the previous pics from this card, the "updated" program recognized them ALL AS NEW PICTURES. ALL 7,800 of them! I know, I know, I should be deleting them off the SD card as I upload, but I'm just old school, or neurotic or something and feel the need to keep them on the camera card. All of my problem today would have been avoided if the upload program had a simple "select" "deselect" option, but if it has one I couldn't find it. After deselecting over 4,000 of them by clicking on each one, I guess the program got tired of putting up with me and started uploading the remaining 3,ooo. Then I couldn't find them for awhile, then I did, but had to create a folder to copy and past them to…….. and on, and on, and on. Technology. We have a love/hate relationship! lol!

So FINALLY, here's my card for today. I'm in a rush now because I still have prep for my team meeting tonight, so this will be quick!

I used a set I've had for awhile, That Thing You Did, pairing it with the Apple of My Eye set from the Occasions Catalog. I think the lemon slices look very 60's-ish, don't you?

I accented the shooting star with with a Gold Glimmer one punched with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack star:

The "happy birthday" is included in  That Thing You Did. This is one of the five cards we will be making at my "Bringing Birthdays Back" Birthday Card Class on March 3rd and 4th! My email going out tomorrow will contain more info about this fun class!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday, which means it's time to share some swaps! yay!

First, Jan Rodrian used Apple of My Eye with Cherry on Top Designer Paper for her cheery creation:

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_1

A simple "thank you"  and a repeat of the front lower edge complete the look.

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye_2

Next, Katy Simecka used the Embossed Bleach technique with the Grateful Bunch set and Blossom Bunch Punch:

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_1

After heat-embossing the blooms with black powder, Katy used bleach in an AquaPainter to get the dimensional look:

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_2

Dena Tarkowski sponged the Rose Garden framelit-cut rose with Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, and Melon Mambo ink for her thank you card:

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_2

Finally, "Great minds think alike", isn't that what they say? Karen Kurz also sponged the Rose Garden framelit for her happy birthday card!

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_1

That's all for this morning, but be sure to come back after 9 p.m. Central Time or at least by tomorrow to take the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! This month our theme is "Etch a Sketch", so be sure to come take the hop to see what my sister stampers have created!
