Stampin’ Up! Love & Affection!

Hey there! At OnStage last month they introduced so many new trends and ideas. One trend, it's actually an old trend becoming new again, is COPPER. I dug out my old copper embossing powder to create today's card with Love & Affection stamps and Affectionately Yours Designer Specialty Paper. NOTE: if you have left-over copper powder from years ago, give it a try! I'd heard that embossing powder gets stale after a few years, but mine, which has been sitting on the shelf for at least five years, STILL WORKED! I embossed a sample with old powder and one with new powder and they looked identical!

I also used a new-to-me layout, the Diagonal Slash. I started with a 4" x 4 3/4" piece of the Affectionately Yours paper, cut it diagonally with my Paper Trimmer, and then layered it on a 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White background with SNAIL. Then I was able to stamp the greeting from Love & Affection with Night of Navy ink and emboss the flowers with copper powder.

The Affectionately Yours paper has two sheets embossed with copper and are one-sided so you don't have to anguish over which gorgeous side to use! I stamped and embossed Watermelon Wonder card stock with Watermelon Wonder ink and copper powder before punching with the Pansy Punch to add the flower that coordinates perfectly with the designer paper!

Inside I stamped another phrase from Love & Affection with Night of Navy ink and embossed more flower sprays with copper. I added a couple of little strips of Love & Affection Designer Washi Tape to bring in a little more color.

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Wishes!

Hey there. We are turning a corner today. With the launch of the new 2015-16 Catalog less than a week away, it's time to start sharing some sneak peeks!

Yesterday I finished my monthly swap and took it to the Post Office. I am excited because this month's swap features New Catalog Sneak Peek products. I will have 20 new and different projects to add to my New Catalog Kick-off Display! yay!

For my swap I used the new Friendly Wishes stamps set, Boho Chic Textured Impressions Folder, and Bohemian Designer Series Paper:

This set has 10 images, perfect for the "chalkboard" technique. I embossed the greeting with white Stampin' Emboss Powder on Basic Black card stock, then used the 2 1/2" Circle to punch it out. Layering more circles of differing sizes punched from the Bohemian Designer Paper gives this card a fun, eclectic look!

Inside I stamped the sentiment first with Island Indigo ink, then chalkboard embossed the image a second time on Basic Black card stock. I used the largest Bitty Banner Framelit die to cut the "FRIEND" banner, then popped it up with a couple of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Save on Shipping and a Bow Builder Punch Card!

Hey there! Have I mentioned lately that this is the ONLY week of the year Stampin' Up! offers FREE SHIPPING? Actually it's only 5 days and this is day 3 already! Eeek! If you haven't placed your order yet, what are you waiting for?

Maybe you've been waiting to see this card, which is the final sample for my Birthday Card Buffet this weekend, using the Lovely Amazing You set, Stacked With Love Washi Tape, and the Bow Builder Punch:

This will be a really quick and easy card to make. The Stacked With Love Washi Tape is re-positionable if you need to adjust the placement because it is a low-tack tape, and the Real Red bow goes together in a snap when you use Glue Dots!

A sentiment from Really Good Greetings and a few more strips of Stacked With Love Washi tape make quick work for the inside. We will be using the Tape It set to stamp on the envelope with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The stamps in Tape It make it look like you are using pieces of washi tape, so you can stamp them any color you want! Cool!

That's all for now. Now that I'm all warmed up from doing my taxes, today I'm off to my daughter's to help her with hers! Am I a glutton for punishment or what? At least I don't have to write a check for her taxes too! lol!
