Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Stampin’Up! Swallowtail Postcard!

Hey there! This afternoon I have a class at the Cozy Table in Benton, IL, with a really great group of stamper/friends. I can hardly wait!

I created today's inspiration for my Birthday Card Buffet back in February:

Stampin_up_swallowtail_postcard_1 - Copy

I combined the Swallowtail Background, Postage Due, and the largest Butterflies Framelit Die with Baked Brown Sugar and Perfect Plum ink. I mounted it all on a Mossy Meadow single-flat-layer base. (no fold)

I stamped-off the Postage Due images I had inked with the Baked Brown Sugar before stamping the Swallowtail Background with full-strength Perfect Plum. I cut out the butterfly using the dryer sheet/waxed paper technique to help all the tiny little cut-out pieces to be easily removed.

I originally colored the Pearl Basic Jewel Embellishment with a Rich Razzleberry Blendability marker, but since the Blendabilities are no longer available to order you could use a Sharpie marker in a coordinating color as a replacement.

I stamped  "my friend" from And Many More with Memento Tuxedo Black.

On the flip side of the Mossy Meadow "postcard" I stamped the Postcard Background on the Very Vanilla layer with Tuxedo Black ink, then added the greeting from the Occasions Catalog Hostess set, Because You Care.

Sponging with Baked Brown Sugar ink all around the edges of the front and the back add to this cards' vintage feel.

We stamped and sponged a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, lining it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Designer Paper cut with the largest Envelope LIner Thinlets Die.

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition is Tomorrow!

Stampin’ Up! Stampers Dozen Blog Hop July Edition is Tomorrow!

Hey there!  Today I have a refresh of a card I featured earlier this year using the collage technique. You can view the original one HERE.

The En Francais background stamp used on the original retired, so when my hostess for this past Saturday asked to make this card I had to think a bit to find a replacement.

I believe I found perfection with Postage Due, stamped in Sahara Sand for the first layer of the collage stamping technique.

Stampin_up_postage_due_collage_1

After stamping the Postage Due, we followed with the tree from Thoughts & Prayers stamped in Always Artichoke, and blossoms from Flower Shop and Petitie Petals in Rich Razzleberry. We softly sponged color on the images with a soft, swirling motion instead of pouncing or dragging the sponge.

The greeting is from And Many More with a stamped-off Always Artichoke tree behind it, then punched with the Large Oval Punch.

We used the new Venetian Crochet Trim behind the Rich Razzleberry Scalloped Oval, then finished off with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.

Inside we collage-stamped just like the outside, then added a sentiment from A Lovely Romance with Always Artichoke ink.

That's all for now! The Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop begins at midnight EDT, so all of our creations will be here in the morning!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Traveler!

Stampin’ Up! Traveler!

Hey there! Just a quick post before I fall into bed! This is Liam’s last night here with us. He goes home with his daddy tomorrow. I will be a little bit sad to see him go. Having him here makes me remember how much I enjoyed having my little ones underfoot. Even though they are a ton of work and you have to keep on your toes every second they are awake, they are TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Today’s cards are all created with the Traveler set. Three cards, all with the same set, all by different stampers, all very different:

Stampin_up_traveler_1

First, Loraine Duran used a stencil to sponge clouds for the background before stamping the steam engine from Traveler. When we made this card at my Birthday Card Buffet,  we used the top of a Scalloped Tag Topper Punched piece to sponge our clouds.

Inside we stamped a phrase from  Chalk Talk:

Stampin_up_traveler_2

Beverlee Morales stamped the train image with Lost Lagoon, then used Postage Due for the background, also stamping on half of a Tea Lace Doily. I love the Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon she accented with a few tiny pearls. The bottom section she scored every 1/8″ with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Stampin_up_traveler_lost_lagoon_1

Finally, Dawn Klein stamped three of the 6 images from Traveler with Early Espresso ink. She easily added detail with Lullaby Designer Paper, the Arrows Textured Impressions Folder, and the Dictionary Background stamp. The greeting is from Really Good Greetings, which she accented with a hand-cut banner, a Basic Metal Button, and a bit of Linen Thread.

I am a BAD, BAD, BLOGGER!!!!

Good morning! Oh, my, my day completely got away from me yesterday! I stayed up REALLLY late the night before in order to view the Demonstrator Preorder List and Hostess Set Preorder List! Then I submitted my Preorder so I could expedite the shipment so it and the hard copy of the NEW 2013-2014 Catalog will be here before I leave for Fiji on Sunday morning! I NEED that catalog for the 10.5 hour plane ride to Fiji! (We fly from St Louis to Chicago, then Chicago to L.A. with a 6 hour layover until the chartered Fiji flight takes off!)

BTW, the you are gonna LOVE the New Catalog!!!!! You can trust me on this one!

I had a LONG list of errands to run yesterday to get ready for Fiji, and then just as I got home Liam and his Mommy & Daddy arrived for the evening! So no blogging, and I am truly sorry!

Note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless stated otherwise.

I DO have a couple more fine swaps to share with you today!

Up first, Embossed Metallic Duct Tape by Nancy Hall using the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Folder and "Thinking of You" from Thoughts & Prayers.
