Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages Card Number Two for the May Online Class!

Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages Card Number Two for the May Online Class!

Hey there! I'm back this morning with another Marquee Messages card, the second  for the May Online Class. I used the "chalkboard technique" for today's card, accenting with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush:

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_chalkboard_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I embossed the Pool Party background with the Polka Dot folder, then used the "chalkboard" technique to emboss the marquee and greetings with White embossing powder. I rubbed my embossing buddy over the Basic Black card stock first before stamping with Versamark and sprinkling with white powder. The outline of the marquee was hand-cut with Paper Snips.

I stamped the arrow portion of the marquee with Archival Basic Black ink on Flirty Flamingo, again hand-cutting with my snips. I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to each "light bulb" on the arrow for some sparkle. I layered it over the chalkboard marquee with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A close-up of the Clear Wink of Stella:

Inside I stamped with more Marquee Messages images, and added another hand-cut Flirty Flamingo arrow.

Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages for the May Online Class!

Stampin’ Up! Marquee Messages for the May Online Class!

Hey there! As promised, I have the first of three May Online Class cards to share with you today. This month we're using  Marquee Messages stamps I received at  OnStage Live in Salt Lake City last month. Since you will receive 6 completed cards, with envelopes and instructions, when you order at least $35 in my online store this month, you can wait until June to order your set.

I combined Marquee Messages, Gorgeous Grunge, and the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

I used the "tearing" technique, something that I did quite a bit back when I first started stamping 14 years ago. I'd forgotten how much I like the effect! After stamping the images with Archival Basic Black and stamping the Gorgeous Grunge "splotches" with Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, and Tip Top Taupe, I tore around the image. then rubbed Tip Top Taupe inkpad directly on the  edges for more "grunge".

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

After I adhered the grunged layer over the Tip Top Taupe/Brick Wall layer, I added a few black sequins from the Metallics Sequins pack, adhering with my Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Stampin_up_marquee_messages_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Inside I used more Marquee Messages and the same inks and stamps from Gorgeous Grunge. I needed a matching liner for my envelope, so I stamped a piece of copy paper, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelits (which are on the Retiring List and won't be available much longer!)

You can't order Marquee Messages, Flirty Flamingo or Peekaboo Peach until June 1st, but you CAN order everything else for this card in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Remember while shopping:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! I am scheduling this post on Saturday night so I don't have to think about it in the morning. I'm trying to make my Sundays be more of a day of rest, so from now on, if I don't have my blog post done on Saturday night, it's not happening.

Short & sweet, here are the swaps I want to share with you today!

First, a card by Martha Swift with the Grateful Bunch set:

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_martha_swift1

The inside is a pretty as the front!

Stampin_up_grateful_bunch_martha_swift4

Next, Tina Biby combined Flower Shop and Friendly Wishes with the embossed resist/brayer techniques!

Stampin_up_flowe_shop_tina_biby1

Inside she used another bloom from Flower Shop and another sentiment from Friendly Wishes!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_tina_biby3

This swap with In the Meadow and the Corner Fold technique arrived nameless, which is too bad, because it is beautifully done!

Stampin_up_in_the_meadow1

The deer, trees, and grass are all stamped in black on watercolor paper, then expertly water colored. The fawns spots and the ears and tails are highlighted with the retiring white gel pen.

Raedean Shibata used retiring-but-still-gorgeous Timeless Elegance Designer Paper with Rose Wonder stamps and Rose Garden framelits to create a special wedding card:

Stampin_up_rose_wonder_raedean_shibata1

The custom-envelope is part of the card!

Finally, Cindy Ewertz combined Botanical Garden Designer Paper, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, and a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with a greeting from Watercolor Words for her creation:

Stampin’ Up! Number of Years for the Graduate!

Stampin’ Up! Number of Years for the Graduate!

Hey there! Today I have a card for you that was inspired by one of my down-line, Becky Anderson. Every month at our team meeting we swap cards with each other to have for ideas for our workshops and classes and for display. I took the card that Becky swapped and with very little extra embellishment turned it into this:

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps1

This card uses It's My Party Designer Paper, retiring bu still available from the Occasions Catalog, and the Large Numbers Framelits, which are carrying over to the NEW Annual Catalog.

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps2

The black background for the numbers is embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. The "Congrats" is from the continuing Happy Happenings set, but has been punched with the already-sold-out Washi Label Punch. The star punch used on this card is also retiring as part of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Stampin_up_happy_happenings_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I stamped "it's your day", a phrase from the retiring Fabulous Four set. The "let the celebration. . . " phrase is also from Happy Happenings, which will continue to be avaialble when the new catalog starts on June 1.

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop, Baby Love!

Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Achiever’s Blog Hop, Baby Love!

GV Blog Header

Hey there! Welcome to the April Edition of the Mediterranean Achiever's Blog Hop! Our theme this month is "Baby Love", and I just can't get the Diana Ross song out of my head! In spite of that, I'm sure you will find some incredible inspiration from the projects that you are about to see!

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Carol Payne Stamps,  or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Carol Payne.
For my project today I chose to use the single stamp, Easter Lamb. We just found out that my daughter is expecting a little girl in September, so this card was easy to create!
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps1
I used the retiring Circles Collection Framelits for the card base and some layers, and the retiring Floral Frames Framelits too! Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper, Whisper White, and Blushing Bride card stock support the girly theme.
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps3
I heat-embossed the lamb with white powder on Crumb Cake card stock, cut it out with a circle framelit, then sponged with White Craft ink. I embossed the Blushing Bride flower behind the lamb with the Happy Hearts folder and cut 1/4" Blushing Bride Cotton ribbon in half to create the tiny bow.
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps4
I white heat-embossed "it's a girl" from A Dozen Thoughts (retiring) on Blushing Bride before punching with the retired-and-sold-out Washi Label Punch. Paper-piercing in each scallop of the circle is an easy and affordable embellishment. All you need is a Stampin' Pierce mat and a Paper-Piercing Tool!
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps6
Inside I white heat-embossed a phrase from Happy Happenings, a set which thankfully IS NOT retiring!
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps7
A special card like this needs a special envelope, and the Envelope Punch Board delivers a lovely one!
Stampin_up_easter_lamb_carolpaynestamps9
I punched a Decorative Label from Crumb Cake and heat-embossed another Happy Happenings phrase with white powder. Attached with a dimensional on the ends, it makes an easy envelope closure.
Thanks so much  for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss! Remember, currently you are at my blog – Carol Payne, so check the blog hop line up to see who is next in the list.

If you can't wait to order supplies and do not have a relationship with a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love for you to shop in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Polka Dot Botanical Blooms!

Stampin’Up! Polka Dot Botanical Blooms!

Hey there! Today I have a card I created last month while on a stamping "binge". Do you ever do that? Have so many ideas in your head they just pour out? Once in a great while that happens for me. Inspired by a card I saw online, I've added personal touches to make it mine:

Stampin_up_suite_sayings_carolpaynestamps_1 - Copy

I started with an Early Espresso card base, adding a Whisper White layer embossed with the Large Polka Dot folder. I used a sponge dauber with Daffodil Delight ink to sponge directly on each large raised "dot". I wrapped with a piece of now-retiring Whisper White 5/8" Satin Ribbon, tying in a knot before adhering to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_suite_sayings_carolpaynestamps_4 - Copy

After cutting a Daffodil Delight bloom with the Botanical Builder Framelits, I sponged with Daffodil Delight ink. I added a Whisper White bloom punched with an Itty Bitty Accents Punch, and an It's My Party Enamel Dot. The whole bloom was added to the ribbon knot with glue dots, and the Mossy Meadow greenery, also cut with the  Botanical Gardens framelits, were added with glue dots.

Stampin_up_suite_sayings_carolpaynestamps_5 - Copy

I stamped the Suite Sayings sentiment with Early Espresso on Daffodil Delight, punching each end with the Note Tag Punch, which is retiring. After sponging with Daffodil Delight I adhered over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_suite_sayings_carolpaynestamps_2 - Copy

I stamped the inside with another Suite Sayings Sentiment and sponged the edges of the Whisper White layer with Daffodil Delight.

Stampin_up_suite_sayings_carolpaynestamps_3 - Copy

Botanical Builders Framelits have four different sizes of blooms to choose from, so I cut a small one from Daffodil Delight, sponged with Daffodil Delight ink, then added with a glue dot. I cut the leaf with a Botanical Builders Framelit, adding it and the white center punched with the Tree Builder Punch, with glue dots. I finished the center with another It's My Party Enamel Dot.
