Stampin’ Up! New Weekly Deals, a Card, and More Sale-a-bration Goodies!

Hey there! I'm a little late posting this morning, I had my monthly swap to get out to the P.O. today. I know you will forgive me because this means NEW swaps to share next week! yay!

As you probably know, every Tuesday Stampin' Up! releases New Weekly Deals; items that are 25% off for the next week. Today they not only released new Weekly Deals, they added ANOTHER collection of Sale-a-bration items to choose from with every $50 order! yay!

Last week I played around with the Indescribable Gift set from the Occasions catalog, creating projects for a class I'm doing at a Women's Conference this weekend. This one will be in my display:

To start off, I brayered a piece of Irresistibly Your Specialty Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure with Pear Pizazz ink, then . . .

After heat-embossing the image with gold powder, I colored the blooms and buds with my White Chalk Marker.

I punched the greeting with the Modern Label Punch, layered it over a Crisp Cantaloupe Large Oval, then over a Whisper White Scallop Oval. I added a bow tied with Calypso Coral ribbon from the Sale-a-bration Best Year Ever Accessory Pack, and topped it off with a flower from the Blushing Bride Rosette Trim taken from the Artisan Embellishment Kit.

Inside I kept it minimal with Gold embossing Powder.

Stampin’ Up! Corner Garden!

Hey there! Today I have the 3rd and final card for the March Online Class to show you, but first, how about a little Lando and Darcy cuteness? Lando and Darcy both went to visit Aunt Jessica at her studio this week, and since they are so close in age (one day shy of a month apart) the mommies decided to wrap them together for a few pics. Here they are!

Miss Darcy slept through the entire shoot, even when Lando was screaming right beside her! You can tell she's relieved, however, when he decided to coo and smile at his mommy!

This card almost made me coo and squeal! I used the Corner Garden Background stamp and the Magic Reinker Technique:

This technique involves stamping the image with Versamark on Shimmery White cardstock, then heat embossing with white embossing powder. After the image is spritzed with water, ink refill color is added to the puddled water on the card stock inside the embossed areas with a wet Aquapainter. After the areas are filled with color, you can either let it sit to air-dry, soak up the extra moisture with a tissue, or speed up the drying time with the Heat Tool. Whichever way you do it, it's a fun technique with gorgeous results! (Squeal!)

Stampin’ Up! Moon Lake!

Hey there! This week has been my week to stamp! I ran some errands on Monday, but ever since I've stayed home and stamped, stamped, stamped! It seems like it's always either a feast or a famine!

My card for today is a CASE of a swap I received from my swap guru, Carol Nordquist. Carol is the lovely lady in Minnesota that I mail my 21 identical swaps to every month, then receive 20 different swaps back about a week later. As the swap guru, Carol gets to keep one of each as her "reward" for organizing the swap, sorting them into everyone's mailer, then taking them back to the P.O. Only occasionally does she swap too, but when she does it's always gorgeousl! Today's card is no exception:

Carol used the Occasions Catalog set, Moon Lake. It's gorgeous detail and inspiring phrases make this set versatile as an all-occasion, and even a masculine set. One of the really fine features of this card is that it needed NOTHING more than stamps, ink, paper, adhesive, and three embossing folders! NO additional embellishments!

It's an easy card to make and an economical one to mail.

The only sentiment added was the "to a great FRIEND" from the Sale-a-bration set, Simply Wonderful. I'm finding I'm using this set A LOT right now, but I need to because after March 31st it will be gone!

Carol's card was originally colored with Blendability alcohol markers, but because Stampin' Up! has had to suspend the sale all the Blendabilities due to quality issues, I switched to sponging and markers.

One touch I DID NOT change was Carol's use of the just a itty bit of the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder on the water portion of the goose image. It really adds to the "ripple effect"!

Stampin’Up! All Abloom Herringbone!

Hey there. On the stage at Leadership, Shelli Gardner reminded us of a fun technique using Washi Tape called "herringbone". I had almost forgotten about it again until I found a herringbone example by Peggy Gilbert online today. I almost couldn't CASE her creation fast enough I was so in love with it!

Here's my version using the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack:

Believe it or not, I DID NOT CUT ANY OF THESE STRIPS to make this card! I had all of these strips in my scrap stash I keep with each designer paper pack! This card went together so fast, it took longer to decide which stamps to use than anything else! This technique is perfect for all of those little scrap/strips you just hate to throw away!

Mossy Meadow is the green color in this paper, so I used that color for my card base, and then used a bit of Mossy Meadow twine (from the new In Color Accessory Pack that is one of the new offerings as a free Sale-a-bration item this month) to glue-dot a tiny bow on top of the Melon Mambo button from the Brights buttons pack.

Inside I did cut the four strips to edge the 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White layer because I needed 1/4" wide strips to leave room for the sentiment from the Simply Wonderful Sale-a-bration set.
