Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Spring Forward Day!

Hey there. It's Sunday Swap Day AND the first morning we have sprung our clocks forward. I am NOT a Spring Forward fan, so I decided to feature some really bright and spring-y cards today to help cheer me up! All of these cards are from an online sharing group I am a part of. Stampin’ Up! Moon Lake!

Hey there! This week has been my week to stamp! I ran some errands on Monday, but ever since I've stayed home and stamped, stamped, stamped! It seems like it's always either a feast or a famine!

My card for today is a CASE of a swap I received from my swap guru, Carol Nordquist. Carol is the lovely lady in Minnesota that I mail my 21 identical swaps to every month, then receive 20 different swaps back about a week later. As the swap guru, Carol gets to keep one of each as her "reward" for organizing the swap, sorting them into everyone's mailer, then taking them back to the P.O. Only occasionally does she swap too, but when she does it's always gorgeousl! Today's card is no exception:

Carol used the Occasions Catalog set, Moon Lake. It's gorgeous detail and inspiring phrases make this set versatile as an all-occasion, and even a masculine set. One of the really fine features of this card is that it needed NOTHING more than stamps, ink, paper, adhesive, and three embossing folders! NO additional embellishments!

It's an easy card to make and an economical one to mail.

The only sentiment added was the "to a great FRIEND" from the Sale-a-bration set, Simply Wonderful. I'm finding I'm using this set A LOT right now, but I need to because after March 31st it will be gone!

Carol's card was originally colored with Blendability alcohol markers, but because Stampin' Up! has had to suspend the sale all the Blendabilities due to quality issues, I switched to sponging and markers.

One touch I DID NOT change was Carol's use of the just a itty bit of the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder on the water portion of the goose image. It really adds to the "ripple effect"!

Stampin’Up! All Abloom Herringbone!

Hey there. On the stage at Leadership, Shelli Gardner reminded us of a fun technique using Washi Tape called "herringbone". I had almost forgotten about it again until I found a herringbone example by Peggy Gilbert online today. I almost couldn't CASE her creation fast enough I was so in love with it!

Here's my version using the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack:

Believe it or not, I DID NOT CUT ANY OF THESE STRIPS to make this card! I had all of these strips in my scrap stash I keep with each designer paper pack! This card went together so fast, it took longer to decide which stamps to use than anything else! This technique is perfect for all of those little scrap/strips you just hate to throw away!

Mossy Meadow is the green color in this paper, so I used that color for my card base, and then used a bit of Mossy Meadow twine (from the new In Color Accessory Pack that is one of the new offerings as a free Sale-a-bration item this month) to glue-dot a tiny bow on top of the Melon Mambo button from the Brights buttons pack.

Inside I did cut the four strips to edge the 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White layer because I needed 1/4" wide strips to leave room for the sentiment from the Simply Wonderful Sale-a-bration set.

Stampin’ Up! Simply Wonderful Butterflies!

Hey there. Today we have mountains of snow on top of ice, schools are closed, and it's cold! Seems like winter saved all of it's wintery-ness until almost spring!

Today's inspiration combines Gorgeous Grunge with the Simply Wonderful SAB set:

I layered the 1 3/8" circle "to a great FRIEND" onto a 1 3/4" vellum scallop circle, then onto a Coastal Cabana butterfly cut with the Butterflies Thinlets Dies. The tiny Coastal Cabana-stamped butterflies are a stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set. I added a bit of sparkle with sequins pulled from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim and adhered with glue dots.

Inside is another sentiment from Simply Wonderful. You can only get this set with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration, which ends on March 31st, so you need to hurry!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! I'm back from church and everything is put away and cleaned up from Sunday dinner, so I've got a bit of time to share with you some Sunday Swaps. These samples are from an online group I'm a part of, and no one expects any credit for their creation since we are all sharing with each other to use for events or online, so here goes!

First, a lovely use of the SAB set, Lotus Blossom, stamped over a lightly-stamped Dictionary Background, mounted on a Cherry Cobbler layer, then a layer embossed with the Beautifully Baroque folder.

Next, a couple of ideas using the From the Herd Occasions Catalog set:

This one showcases how quickly you can add color with just a few swipes of the Aqua Painter and some ink refills. They coordinated the water coloring with Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker's Twine.

This sample using the free-with-a-$50-order Big Day stamp set also uses Irresistibly Yours Designer Paper colored with Pink Pirouette ink (the DSP is another item you can choose for free with your $50 order), and the glitzy Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim.

This idea combines the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets Dies, Birthday Bash Designer Paper, and the Bow Builder Punch. Purchase these three items and you will definitely have an order large enough to get the Big Day set for free!

This Snuggles & Smooches card would be a sweet girly baby card!

Lastly, this sample combines Crisp Cantaloupe with its' darker color friend, Calypso Coral. The bloom from Crazy About You is easily punched with the Flower Medallion Punch, and the greeting is from the free SAB set, Simply Wonderful.
