Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Emboss Resist!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Emboss Resist!

I'm still thinking about stamp sets that would be good ones to choose as a new demonstrator starter kit, so I created this card, again with Flower Shop:

Flower shop emboss resist 1

I used the emboss resist technique, stamping the flowers with Versamark on Very Vanilla, then heat-embossing with Clear powder. I then sponged with Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Cherry Cobbler, rubbing the excess from the embossing with a tissue between each color. I sponged the edges with Soft Suede, then layered onto a mat of Early Espresso. For the background layer I stamped the flowers with Soft Suede on Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, then dry-embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. I sponged the raised ridges with Soft Suede ink. I adhered a piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive. I stamped "wonderful you" from Loving Thoughts in Early Espresso ink and snipped the ends into banner points. The Very Vintage Designer Button was too crisp and clean to go with all the sponging on this card, so I sponged the button with Soft Suede ink before tying a thread of Burlap Ribbon into a bow through the holes and adhering to the card with a couple of Glue Dots.

Inside I repeated the emboss resist technique in the corners and stamped phrases from Bring on the Cake.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping in to see my creation today!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop For Christmas!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop For Christmas!

With the unbelievable value of the current $25 Demonstrator Starter Kit Deal (which is only available until October 21st!), I've been thinking about what would I purchase for my $25 if I was signing up as a new demonstrator this month?

I know when I started as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is November of 2002, I was very interested in the value of the kit (over $250 to purchase at that time, if I remember correctly) and how to recoup my initial expense. As I chose the stamps for my kit, I considered which stamps would be the most versatile, ones I could use for more than one occasion.

Today's card is an example of using a current stamp set in a different way to get more value out of your stamps. I created a Christmas card with the new floral set from the Annual Catalog, Flower Shop.

First, here's what the set looks like in the catalog:

130939LFlower Shop #130139 Wood-mount $23.95

                                                             Flower Shop #130942 Clear-mount $17.95

There's even a coordinating punch to go with it and a bundle price when you purchase the stamps and the punch together, so it's a great value to begin with!

Here's my Christmas card using this set:

Flower shop christmas 1

I heat-embossed the flowers with White embossing powder on Real Red cardstock, then punched them with the coordinating Pansy Punch #130698 $15.95. I stamped one of the flowers on the Whisper White layer with Garden Green ink to give the look of flower leaves. The Real Red flowers are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, and the Vintage Faceted Buttons in the centers are adhered with Glue Dots.

The greeting is from Many Merry Messages stamped in Garden Green ink, which coordinates beautifully with the Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon tied in a bow!

Flower shop christmas 2
Inside I stamped two of the flowers on the Whisper White layer with Real Red ink, then stamped the phrase from Christmas Messages with Garden Green ink.

Well, what do you think? Did I do a good job using this floral set in a non-traditional way? Leave me a comment and this card could arrive in your mailbox before you know it!

I'm diggin' this card so much it's likely to be one we make at my November Christmas Card Class, what do you think?

That's all for now! Thanks for stopping by today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Slider Card!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop Slider Card!

Good Monday mornin' to you! We had a BLAST yesterday at Jessica's, celebrating our August Birthdays! Here's some glimpses of our pool time (we weren't even all in yet!):

Pool

Liam loves the water! He stayed in the whole time, almost 2 hours, and never complained at all!

Liam

Jaxon not so much. As soon as PaPa came out, he was ready to spend the rest of the afternoon on his lap!

Jaxon

Oakley got to dabble his toes a bit for his first outing at the pool:

Oakley

Getting ready to take some underwater pics:

Underwater

It truly was a lovely afternoon. I got a little bit of sun, which is hard for me because I have to be very careful with sunscreen (my face is allergic to all kinds), but no burn, so that's good!

It was an afternoon of lunch, gifts for all the August birthday peeps, pool, then supper and games! Fun!

Today's card is a slider I received in a swap in June. There are tutorials out there for this one, but I haven't personally made one yet. Hmmm. . . guess I need to figure this one out!

This one combined the Flower Shop  and Mixed Bunch stamps  with the Pansy and Blossom punches.

Slider 1 posted

The greeting is from the Express Yourself Hostess set.

Slider 2 posted

When the slider is opened it reveals a phrase from the Label Love!

That's all for now! It's a Liam day, so I'm outta here!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day #1!

Happy Sunday morning to you! I've decided to make Sundays be "Swap Day"; the day I showcase swaps I have received during the previous month. Some will have the creators name but some will not due to either the creator not adding their info to the back of their swap or the info fell out of the inside during transit, but
