Stampin’ Up! Do You Know Your Greens?

Stampin’ Up! Do You Know Your Greens?

Hey there! Just a quick post tonight. I've been playing "catch-up" all day, after spending TOO MUCH time on those dreaded taxes, hence the lack of a blog post until now. And since I've been "catching up", that also means I've not had a chance to create anything new. Sorry!

Since there's nothing "new" to share today, and since with this latest deep freeze we are in right now, I thought you might like to see something GREEN!

One of my stampers recently needed to decide on a green for an event she was preparing for, so I stamped this so she could see all of the Stampin' Up! greens side-by-side:

Stampin_up_greens

Using the leafy stamp from the free Sale-a-bration set, Petal Parade, I started with Pistachio Pudding and worked my way through all 7 Stampin' Up! greens until I ended with Always Artichoke.  I thought they actually look quite lovely together. What do you think?

What color did my stamper choose for her project? She chose Garden Green!

Which Stampin' Up! green is your favorite?

That's all for now. Friday is the last day of February. February is always such a short month. Maybe God gave us a short month to help it seem like spring is coming faster. We can always hope!

To order your favorite green, and anything else stamp-y, just click HERE to shop in my Online Store!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Happy Father’s Day! Secret Garden Masked Corners Re-visited!

Happy Father’s Day! Secret Garden Masked Corners Re-visited!

Good morning! Happy Father's Day! I'm sure many of you will be preparing a meal, or get-together for the fathers in your life, so I will make this a quick post!

My dad passed away 19 years ago. I still miss him and think of him often. He was a great Dad and an even GREATER grandpa! Just ask my oldest three: Jessica, Kimberly, and Troy, they will tell you Grandpa Wall was the BEST!

Yesterday I prepped for my workshops this coming week. One of them is a monthly class/club, so I see several of the same stampers every month. Last month they picked THIS CARD from my display to do this month. Two of the ink colors, all of the word stamps, and the ribbon retired on May 31, so I re-worked the card using all current products:

Secret Garden 1

What do you think? I kept the Secret Garden stamps and Framelits Collection, then substituted Blushing Bride for Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz for Lucky Limeade, Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon for Certainly Celery ribbon, and a phrase from Best of Greetings instead of the retired Friendly Phrases.

Secret garden 2
Inside I switched out the Beautiful Birthday stamp (one of my all-time favs) for one of the stamps from the new Million & One set (which is quickly becoming a NEW fav of mine)!

Well,I still have some things to prep and gather together for the day! It's church first, of course, then grilling out at Jessica's, swimming, (maybe a nap, who knows?), and generally hanging out with the entire family the rest of the day! I can't wait!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow!

Good morning! I have one of my "SWOW! Class/Club" projects to share with you today, using the Wildflower Meadow suite of products!

"SWOW" means "Simply WOW"! This is a new Class/Club I am starting this month. It is:

  • Open to all stampers, new and advanced.
  • We will make three projects each month for a $15 fee, or the class is free with a $25 order placed at class. Projects will vary from month to month but will be on-trend, fun, sometimes punch, often technique, almost always using the Big Shot- in short, projects that "WOW" me!
  •  Attendees can either choose to become a "Club" member by committing to placing a $25 order each month in exchange to receive the 3 project packet (which includes instructions, of course!), or can just come whenever they choose.
  • The "Club" members will take turns receiving the Hostess Benefits from the combined total of all orders received for the monthly class. Hostess Benefits start at $25 free with an sales total of $150 and increases incrementally from there (see the top of page 201 for the complete Hostess Benefits Table)
  • Hostess months are assigned in the order in which attendees sign up to be a Club member. The June Hostess is Darlene Holloway.
  • Long-distance stampers CAN participate, thanks to the easy addition of the Hostess Code!
  • Hostess Code for this month's class is:

    G4ZPEJRT
  • To participate via the Hostess Code go to my website using the "Shop Now" Button in the upper left sidebar of this blog. When you get to my website, www.carolpayne.stampinup.net, click on the "Shop Now " under the "Products" tab. You will be taken to the Online Catalog. Make sure the screen looks like this and says "Carol Payne" in the upper right corner:
  • Carol payne 1
  • You will then be able to navigate the Online Catalog by clicking on the categories in the left-hand column, or on one of the product pictures along the bottom:
  • Carol payne stamps for blog
  • You MUST click on the picture of each item in order to have the opportunity to put it in your basket. This does not automatically add it, but the screen then looks like this:

Carol payne 2

  • Say you want to look at the Wood-mount stamps in the "Bring on the Cake" product suite. Click on the picture with the words "wood-mount" under it and the next screen will look like this:

Carol payne 3

  • Say you want to look at the "Blue Ribbon" stamp set more closely. Click on the picture or the words with the Blue Ribbon stamp set and this screen will come up:

  • Carol payne 4
To add this stamp set to your shopping bag, click on the blue highlighted words "Add to Bag", making sure the "QTY" number is "1" if that's how many of the item you want. The next screen will look like this:

  • Carol payne 7
From here you will need to have already created an account with your credit card info and shipping info included. This order will ship direct to you, not the hostess, so minimum $6.95 shipping will be applied.
  • Enter the Hostess Code in the highlighted box in the lower left side of the screen.
  • You then have the option to "update quantity", "check out", or "continue shopping" which is highlighted in the upper right of the screen.
  • It's as easy as that! Give it a try!
  • YOU MUST RSVP to me: 618-237-6281 or carol@carolpaynestamps.com to participate with an online order, attend, or join the club!
  • This month's orders will be taken through June 11th, which is the date of Darlene's in-home workshop to increase her Hostess Benefits with additional orders.

Now, with the housekeeping out of the way, here's the Wildflower Meadow project:

Wildflower meadow 1
This card was inspired by a "virtual swap" by Patsy Waggoner! I used the  Wildflower Meadow stamp set and Textured Impressions Folder, along with Perfect Pairs, one of the stamp sets that is 25% off right now during the "Grab Your Greetings" promotion!

Wildflower meadow 2
Inside I used one of the phrases from Sassy Salutations, another "Grab Your Greetings" 25%off stamp set!

Colors used are Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, and Melon Mambo!

I custom-colored the Whisper White Organza ribbon Melon Mambo this way:

  • I pre-cut my ribbon to 20 inches long per card so it could be tied into either a bow or a knot around the top card layer.
  • Wear rubber gloves for this process – ask me how I know this! Last night my fingertips were bright pink!
  • I created the Melon Mambo dye by filling a Stampin' Spritzer with 91% Rubbing Alcohol and 8 drops of Melon Mambo ink refill, screwed the cap back on the Spritzer and shook it carefully to mix.
  • I laid a couple of the ribbons in an old powder pal (any non-porus container will do) and spritzed with the alcohol/ink mixture, moving the ribbon length into the powder pal and spritzing heavily because I wanted my ribbon to be BRIGHT pink!

  • Wildflower meadow 3
  • After the entire length of ribbon has been saturated with color, remove the ribbons and place between two paper towels to remove the excess ink.

  • Wildflower meadow 4
  • When most of the excess ink is removed, lay the ribbons aside for a few minutes so the alcohol moisture can evaporate, leaving you with delicously custom-colored ribbons!

  • Wildflower meadow 5
There you are! Custom-dyed ribbon AND an Online Ordering Tutorial all in one day! Whew!

Well, that's all for now! I still have organizing and prep for Friday to get to. Hope to hear from some of you today that are coming, participating online, or joining my fun new club!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz In-Colors!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz In-Colors!

Good Morning! It's Friday, which means I am finishing the final preparations for my "Brides & Babies" class here tomorrow! Here's one of the projects using the retiring In-Color, Peach Parfait. At first I was hesitant to use this color for a baby card, but now I think it actually works in a gender-neutral way! Take a lookie and tell me what you think:

Hello baby 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

It may lean toward the femine side with all the scalloped edges, so perhaps it falls into the category of "I-don't-know-but-I-think-you-are-having-a-girl"! The inside uses one of my favorite verse sets, the retiring "God's Blessings"!

Hello baby 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

At this class we are making three wedding and two baby cards. Here's the second baby card, using the retiring "Pear Pizzazz" for the base and the retiring "Cheerful Treat" Designer Paper:

Worth the wait 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

This little sweetie also has the retiring "Finial Press" embossed on the Pear Pizzazz base, and the pudgy little back leg is made with the retiring "Heart to Heart" punch. I used the same punch for all the hearts on this card, including the one that is part of the pacifier!

I had two challenges in making this card. First, the retiring "Blushing Bride" cardstock is too pink, Very Vanilla is too washed-out, and we no longer carry the already retired "Blush Blossom" cardstock, so I ended up sponging Whisper White with Pink Pirouette Classic ink so my baby would be slightly pink and very healthy! The second challenge was how to make the baby face not look like a baby snowman, and I "hope" I have succeeded, you tell me! lol!
