Stampin’Up! Retiring Flower Fancy Continued!

Stampin’Up! Retiring Flower Fancy Continued!

Happy Friday to you all! The watercoloring class this Saturday and next Monday is going to be so much fun! We will be learning 7 different ways to watercolor using the Watercolor Wonder Crayons! Once again, we will be using the retiring "Flower Fancy" and "Sincere Salutations" stamp sets!

For this first sample we will be coloring the crayon directly onto the stamp, then lightly spritzing it with water before stamping onto the cardstock:

Card 3 one

The same technique was used on the inside, but I must have spritzed more heavily because the color was much more "watery" here! This phrase from "Full of Life" coordinates beautifully with the "Thanks so much" on the front!

Card 3 two
©Stampin'Up!™1999-2012

These last two samples are stamped on Watercolor Paper, which gives them a completely different look than on Whisper White!

Lastly, this sample uses the "Salted Background" technique! Unfortunately, I was too impatient to allow the salt to dissolve completely as the piece air-dried, so I sped up the process with my heat tool and blew all the salt away!

That's all for today! I will be back tomorrow with another version of the "get well" mug!

Until then, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Flower Fancy!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Flower Fancy!

With my "7 Watercolor Wonders" Class coming up this Saturday and next Monday, thought I should show you some of the projects we will be making with the retiring "Flower Fancy" stamp set! I will show you two today and the remaining three tomorrow, so here goes!

Card 1 one
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

This card is very subtly watercolored with a Blender Pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. All of the outline images are stamped with Jet Black StazON on the Whisper White so the lines won't smear when the moist blender pen touches them. Jet Black StazOn is fast becoming my go-to black for all my black ink stamping. It's crisp, clear, and VERY BLACK!

I also embossed the Regal Rose card base with the retiring "Finial Press" Textured Impressions Folder. If you don't have this one yet, at $7.95 you really shouldn't do without it!

Card 2 one
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

This card also uses a Blender Pen with the Watercolor Crayons, but this time we will color directly along the edges of the image, then use the blender pen to "pull" the color from the colored edges to color the entire image. It does give the images more depth and variation of color, don't you think?

These cards also all use the retiring "Sincere Salutations", a stamp set I have lovingly used for several years and will be a little sorry to see leave the catalog!

There are a few spots still available for this class, so contact me ASAP if you want to attend!

Well, it's really late as I am posting this, so I'd better leave you now and hit the hay! Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Stampin’ Up! Embossed Vellum with Retiring Flower Fancy!

Stampin’ Up! Embossed Vellum with Retiring Flower Fancy!

Happy Mother's Day! What a great day today is going to be! I can hardly wait to spend it with my family! Hope your day goes well and you get to spend it with loved ones!

My card for today is one I've wanted to do for quite awhile, but just never seemed to get around to it! This card uses the retiring "Finial Press" Textured Impressions Folder with the Big Shot and the lovely-but-retiring "Flower Fancy" stamp set, so I knew it was now or never!

Embossed vellum 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The lower edge of the Vellum Cardstock Top Note has been run through the Big Shot with a strip of the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder that I cut off in a strip so I could use it selectively like this:

Embossed vellum 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Of course, this destroys the full effect of the folder, so I own TWO of this one! At $7.95, that's doable! Here's the inside:

Embossed vellum 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Here's the list of retiring products on this card:

 * Flower Fancy Stamp Set #111578 Wood-mount only $36.95

 * Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder #115963 $7.95

 * Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess (Happy Birthday & it's your day!)

 * Peach Parfait 8 1/2" x 11 Cardstock #119794 $6.95

The Vellum Paper that is retiring is now all sold out, but I used the Vellum Cardstock because of it is sturdier and can be held in place on the card front with just a few well-placed Stampin' Dimensionals:

Embossed vellum 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Positioning the dimensionals in the upper left section of the vellum cardstock Top Note allows the white heat embossed and stamped flower to cover up the dimensionals!

In case you were wondering, the stamped banners inside and out are from the Petal Cone Die!

Well, it's off to spend the day with the fam! Hope your day "Stampingrox!" like mine will!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Medallion Newsprint Reveal Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Retiring Medallion Newsprint Reveal Technique!

Good Friday Morning Stampers! The weekend is almost here, school is almost out, and summer is just around the corner! Yay!

I've been working this week on the Punch/Technique Class Projects for May. I've already shown you the 3 Punch Projects we will be doing, now it's time to start showing you the Techniques!

Our Technique for today features the "Newsprint Reveal" Technique and the retiring "Medallion" Background Stamp:

Newsprint reveal 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

The card base is the retiring 2010-2012 In-Color "Pear Pizzazz", and the ink that has been inkpad-direct-to-paper dragged over the clear-embossed retiring "Medallion" image is the also retiring  2010-2012 In-Color "Peach Parfait"!

Some elements of this card that are NOT retiring is the "First Edition" Designer Specialty Paper, the "Antique Brad", and the "Thinking of You" from "Thoughts and Prayers"! There is more to the "Thinking of You" stamp, but I omitted the rest by only inking up the part I needed with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Added note: I've received my complimentary Demonstrator Copy of the New 2012-2013 Annual Catalog and it is awesomely gorgeous! One new feature beginning on June 1 will be that all the remaining wood-mount sets from the previous catalog are now available in Clear-Mount as well! Yippee! This includes "Thoughts and Prayers" AND "Lovely As a Tree"! The only exception to this change is some of the background stamps remain wood-mount only, but some of them, such as "Sunflower", "Sweet Floral", and "Hello, Doily" are now available in both wood AND clear! SO COOL!

This was a fun and EASY technique! I like to include both easy and a little more challenging techniques in my monthly class so there is something for everyone to learn!

In case you were wondering about the inside of this card, here it is:

Newsprint reveal 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I clear-embossed the medallion image again directly onto the Pear Pizzazz cardstock, which gives it the tone-on-tone look! The verse is from the NOT retiring set, "Blessings from Heaven"! The combination of this verse and greeting makes this card quite versatile. It could be a simple thinking of you, birthday, sympathy, or even a thank you card.

Since we are on the subject of the New Annual Catalog, how would you like a copy of your own? You can receive a FREE copy from me when you:

1. Come to my New-Catalog "Crazy Day" on Friday, June 1st anytime from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. I will also be having my "Buy One, Get One" Sale that day. For every dollar you order from the New Catalog that day you will be able to choose an equal dollar amount of retired merchandise from my retired Stampin' Up! stash!

2. Place an Online Order of at least $25 with me between now and May 31st. You can go to my Demonstrator Business Website to do this:

www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Upon receipt of your order I will ship a free catalog direct to you in early June!

3. If you want a free catalog but prefer to wait until after receiving the New Annual Catalog, you can still have it free but I will need to collect the price of shipping it to you, which is $5. You will also receive a coupon good for $5 off your first order of $50 or more with your catalog. I can send you a Paypal Invoice for payment, just let me know!

I will be back tomorrow with the second technique, "Misted Markers"! Until then, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
