Stampin’ Up! Embossed Vellum with Retiring Flower Fancy!

Stampin’ Up! Embossed Vellum with Retiring Flower Fancy!

Happy Mother's Day! What a great day today is going to be! I can hardly wait to spend it with my family! Hope your day goes well and you get to spend it with loved ones!

My card for today is one I've wanted to do for quite awhile, but just never seemed to get around to it! This card uses the retiring "Finial Press" Textured Impressions Folder with the Big Shot and the lovely-but-retiring "Flower Fancy" stamp set, so I knew it was now or never!

The lower edge of the Vellum Cardstock Top Note has been run through the Big Shot with a strip of the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder that I cut off in a strip so I could use it selectively like this:

Of course, this destroys the full effect of the folder, so I own TWO of this one! At $7.95, that's doable! Here's the inside:

Here's the list of retiring products on this card:

 * Flower Fancy Stamp Set #111578 Wood-mount only $36.95

 * Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder #115963 $7.95

 * Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess (Happy Birthday & it's your day!)

 * Peach Parfait 8 1/2" x 11 Cardstock #119794 $6.95

The Vellum Paper that is retiring is now all sold out, but I used the Vellum Cardstock because of it is sturdier and can be held in place on the card front with just a few well-placed Stampin' Dimensionals:

Positioning the dimensionals in the upper left section of the vellum cardstock Top Note allows the white heat embossed and stamped flower to cover up the dimensionals!

In case you were wondering, the stamped banners inside and out are from the Petal Cone Die!

Well, it's off to spend the day with the fam! Hope your day "Stampingrox!" like mine will!

Another favorite Hostess Set of mine and many of my hostesses this year was "Happiest Birthday Wishes", which will be going away forever on May 31st.

Once again, it has been paired with "Bright Blossoms" and "Summer Smooches" DSP, with the additon of the retiring "Finial Press" Textured Impressions Folder on the card base front.

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

Bride to be!

Bride to be!

I'm sure right now you're thinkin', "wait a minute, this isn't Holiday Mini stuff!", and you're right, it isn't, but I'm pretty happy with this card and NEEDED to show it to you!

I CASED this cute card from a swap one of my downline, Angela, received at convention in July, so I don't know who the creator was,but it's so CUTE! I plan to make several of these (as soon as I get time, but wait, I have a bridal shower I need to send a gift to on Saturday, so I guess I'll get to make another one of these before then! yeah!) Several things are different from the original, although I kept the color scheme, Blushing Bride & Basic Gray, but added  a Basic Black cardbase to give it just a little more elegance and "pop"! If I remember correctly, the orginal did not have any embossing on it, but I added texture with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. I do know that the original had these adorable pop-out paper rosettes that would be a pain to try to send through the post office, so I changed that feature up with flat punched Boho Blossoms and Basic Jewel Pearls. I was going for a bouquet look for the dot of the "i", do you think I achieved it? When I decided to make this card I went looking for the phrase in the set "Fabulouos Phrases", but did not find it, however, I DID find the single word "to" and "beautiful", so I just squished them together on my Clear Mount block and used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to omit the rest of the word and just ink up "be"! Pretty cool what you can do with Clear Mount stamps and a marker, huh?

I kept the inside simple, most swaps are just the card front anyway, so I was on my own for that! But I think the phrase from "Heard from the Heart" and repeating the flower motif from the outside finished it off well, don't you think?

Tomorrow is a big day, finishing touches for the Holiday Mini Girls' Night Out at the Franklin County Hospital Conference Room from 6-9 p.m. We will be showcasing lots of new stuff  from the Holiday Mini, be giving away some cool doorprizes, a Grand Prize, and will have Holiday papercrafts for sale!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Because I Care Sneak Peeks!

Stampin' Up! sent every demo who pre-ordered the "New Color Kit" this gorgeous Level 1 Hostess Set, "Because I Care", and it was a very popular set used in the New Catalog Pre-order Swap I am continuing to show you today! ALL the samples shown use this set in one way or another!

First, a beautiful version using Crumb Cake (formerly called "Kraft"!), Pear Pizazz,  & Marina Mist! If you look closely down by the "because I Care" greeting, you will see she used the flourish stamp from "Elements of Style", stamping Pear Pizazz on Pear Pizazz!

Next, Jackie Ordway combined Peach Parfait, Newsprint Designer Paper, White Craft ink, and Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon!

This beauty is an orphan card, it arrived with no name on it! Whoever it is certainly did a great job! I would hate not to be able to claim this one!

Beverlee Morales used Crumb Cake and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impression Folder to create this fun card!

Jan Rodrian used the technique to omit  a center oval shape with her Textured Impressions folder (she used Finial Press):

An last but certainly not least, Ruth Anne Lilley masked the rectangle to sponge the Crumb Cake background for this one!
